Oh, this was sad. Corona had bothered to get all dressed up for what? To eat alone. Yes, well, she wasn't extremely dressed up but she looked nice all the same. She had managed to go the entire last two days without crying; which was why she was celebrating. Celebrating alone, that is. Sighing, she looked at the menu and tried to see what she might enjoy.
Unfortunately, Cor wasn't very hungry so before she knew it, she had asked the waiter simply for a salad and a glass of water. Yes, it was depressing but she decided not to dwell on it for too long. It'd only upset her. She just wished things would be better. She wished she wasn't living in a smelly motel. She wished she had some kind of relationship...with anybody.

His hands in his jeans pockets, he smiled at the matradee as she told him where to sit. He tipped his head at her in thanks, walking towards the table. His eyes scanned the restraunt, looking for nothing and everything at the same time. His head cocked, seeing a rather lovely woman sitting all by her lonesome. His head turned back around, starring at the woman who told him where to sit before walking towards the other woman's table. Taking a seat as the waiter left, he grinned at her from across the table. " Bonjour, madame." He smiled softly, turning on the French charm. " What's such a beautiful lady, like yourself, doing here alone?"

"Bonjour, madame." He smiled softly, turning on the French charm. "What's such a beautiful lady, like yourself, doing here alone?"
The voice, the words, caused her to jump from her chair almost knocking over her glass of water. Luckily, she caught it in time and her widened eyes returned to normal. Thank god, it was not Jacque. She swallowed hard, blushing with embarrassment. It was a very good looking french man....with manners. She sat back down in her seat and swallowed hard again. "B-By myself? I'm not by myself exactly...I mean...I still have myself to talk to...not that I would, for that would be silly to talk to one's self and---"She paused her anxious babbling for a moment and gasped, "OH! I'm so sorry, pardon my manners, I'm Corona...Corona Whitman to be exact."
She held out a hand and this time, actually managed to knock the glass of water completely off the side of the table in the process. Yet she took no notice to it as she put on a polite and rather enchanting smile on her plump lips.

He sucked in his lips, nodding as his smile grew. She was so adorable cute when she babbled like that. He wondered then, if she did that all the time, or if it was just his presence that had caused it.
As her hand reached over, the glass, she had tried so hard to save from falling--fell. But she took no notice of it, and neither did he. He grinned, taking her hand in his and bringing it to his lips as he gently kissed it. "Nicolas Reed. But you, you may call me Nic."

She couldn't help but blush when he kissed her hand. Luckily, she managed to hold back girlish giggles from ever sounding in the air but still, her blush was heavy. She grinned a bit and then pondered his name. Nicolas Reed. Wait! That was. No. No, no, no, no, no! That couldn't be this drop-dead gorgeous man in front of her. She let the words slip right out of her mouth that instant.
"Well, Nic, you wouldn't happen to know a girl....by the name of..uhm...Evangeline, would you?" When Cor spoke that name, she winced a bit as if pained by the sound of the word. She didn't really care if this was the same Nic because this man was nice; and if it was the same Nic, then obviously Evan must have done something terribly painful to Nic to cause him to release anger upon her.

"Well, Nic, you wouldn't happen to know a girl....by the name of..uhm...Evangeline, would you?"
He perked a brow, his smile slightly fading at the mention of Evangeline. "You know my ex?" He asked softly. His lips pursed as he nodded softly. "Yes, yes I do, Corona." He smiled.
Another waiter walked over, picking up the broken glass and asking him if he wanted anything. "Two glasses of..." He paused, turning to Corona and perking a brow. " Champaign okay?"

"Yes, yes I do, Corona." "O-Oh." She mumbled, her smile disappearing for a moment. Soon, the smile returned and she chuckled. "Such a small world, isn't it?" Sure, her words were cheesy but she couldn't come up with anything better. Corona kinda liked this guy, even though he was the one who gave Evangeline that rather huge black eye. But maybe the girl had deserved it at the time. Who knew?
"Two glasses of..." He paused, turning to Corona and perking a brow. " Champaign okay?"
Corona raised a brow, impressed and then nodded to Nicolas in agreement. She couldn't believe this was happening. When the waiter hurried off to get the drinks, Cor leaned forward a bit over the table. "You know, I have to thank you for...well...showing up. I was actually feeling quite lonely these past days and your kindness makes up for all of it. Thank you." she said hushed and polite.

He smirked, nodding. "Indeed, it is." He chuckled gently. "Le monde est petit en effet." (Small world, indeed) He smiled as the waiter rushed off with their orders for drinks. "So, Corona." He grinned across the table at her. "Are we celebrating tonight?"
"You know, I have to thank you for...well...showing up. I was actually feeling quite lonely these past days and your kindness makes up for all of it. Thank you."
He smiled widely, reaching across the table and taking her hand once more. And, once more, bringing it to his lips, kissing it gently. "Believe me, I should be thanking you. You saved me from sitting all by my lonesome." He told her.
"I walked through that door, and when my eyes landed on you, I thought to myself." He paused. "'There's a woman, not a girl. A woman, and a beautiful one at that.'[/b["

Oh, he was too smooth. She thought it so brilliant of him to be able to speak french. They said french was the language of love and Corona didn't doubt that. Even when Jacque had spoken french, she felt herself melt like a stick of butter over a hot frying pan.
"Are we celebrating tonight?"
Corona giggled a bit and then shrugged. "Well...um...in a way...it's really silly for a celebration. I just managed to go...two days without crying over a small tragedy in my life is all." She watched as he kiss her hand again and just smiled back at him. This man was so smooth. She found herself wondering if he was like that with Evan. No...obviously not. Evan liked Shames and Shames was never this well spoken; never!
"I walked through that door, and when my eyes landed on you, I thought to myself." He paused. "'There's a woman, not a girl. A woman, and a beautiful one at that.'"
Raising her brows, she smirked and then shook her head, leaning forward with her hand supporting her chin. "No, you must use that phrase on all the women you charm. But I must admit; it's working." Cor replied with a smile. At that moment, the waiter came back with their drinks and also politely lit the candle between the flowers in the middle of the table.

"Oh? And what kind of tragedy, if you don't mind me asking?" He asked gently. Not wanting to pry or anything. Nothing of the sort. He smiled softly, leaning forward as he laid his chin in the palm of his hand.
"No, you must use that phrase on all the women you charm. But I must admit; it's working."
He laughed at that, shaking his head. "Would you believe me if I said.." He paused, his eyes lifting to the sky a moment as he thought. "Que de toi." (only on you) He grinned. "I don't get out much really. In fact, this is my first time in New York." He said, flashing another smile as the waiter returned with their drinks, and lit the candle.
"Je vous remercie, mon bon monsieur." (Thank you, kind sir)

"Well....I recently lost my former husband to another woman." She said simply, looking down at that empty place on her left hand for a split second. "As well as my house." Corona then waved the thought away and put her hands upon her lap. She then took the Champagne to her lips and sipped a bit of it. Oh, that was a good batch they gave.
"Que de toi." (only on you) He grinned. "I don't get out much really. In fact, this is my first time in New York."
Though Corona didn't speak much french, she knew that phrase too well at it made her look down shyly. "You don't get out much? Eh, me either. Well I do now that I'm currently dwelling in that smelly old motel room, but I used to stay in often."

He perked a brow. Evan. She knew Evan, and speaks of losing a husband to another woman.. He thought to himself, smiling softly at her. Evan, you bad, bad girl, you. "Well I'm sorry to hear that." He said softly. "Is that how you know, Evangeline?" He asked gently.
"You don't get out much? Eh, me either. Well I do now that I'm currently dwelling in that smelly old motel room, but I used to stay in often."
He gave a nod, smiling at her shyness. "Don't hide that beautiful face from me, cheri." He laughed gently. "I do feel you on the motel situation. I'm currently staying in one myself."

"Well I'm sorry to hear that." He said softly. "Is that how you know, Evangeline?" He asked gently.
Corona looked down, not wanting to talk about it. "No, I met her at one of the Mutant Schools. I teach at one. Rosewood. Yep, that's what I do...I'm a teacher." She didn't know why she protected that woman. She guessed it was for her family and not for Evan. Not that she didn't trust Nicolas. It was just, too soon to talk about that.
"Don't hide that beautiful face from me, cheri." He laughed gently. "I do feel you on the motel situation. I'm currently staying in one myself."
Looking up, she smiled a bit and opened her mouth to comment. All that came out was a gasp as she looked at the clock. It was late....past the time she normally called Lyra to tell her goodnight. And she had left her phone at the motel. She stood up quickly. "Oh god, I'm so sorry. I was supposed to...uh...call someone, my daughter that is, to say goodnight to her and all."

He gave a nod. Hmm, Either she's lying, or Evan's been the little perfect angel. He smiled softly. "Oh really? I hear teaching is a wonderful job." He smirked softly, taking his glass to his lips and sipping it. God, that is good.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry. I was supposed to...uh...call someone, my daughter that is, to say goodnight to her and all."
Suddenly she was at her feet, and being the gentleman he was, he took to his own. "Oh. Y-you have a daughter?" He asked, smiling gently. "That's wonderful." He smiled. He then realized, that meant she had to leave. "Disappointing, but wonderful nonetheless. Not that I'm disappointed that you have a daughter." He chuckled softly. "Dissapointed that you have to leave, and so soon."

"Oh. Y-you have a daughter?" He asked, smiling gently. "That's wonderful."
"Yes, it is wonderful. She's about five years old." Corona said with a smile and then spaced out momentarily as she thought. I wonder if...no, Cor, don't think too far ahead of yourself. She was brought back to reality by the sound of his creamy voice.
"Disappointing, but wonderful nonetheless. Not that I'm disappointed that you have a daughter." He chuckled softly. "Dissapointed that you have to leave, and so soon."
Cor frowned a bit and then grabbed her purse, putting a large tip on the table for the waiter before looking back up at Nic. "Well...you could walk with me, for a little bit, if you'd like." She said with a flirtatious grin.

"Yes, it is wonderful. She's about five years old."
"Yea?" He smiled, nodding slightly before taking another sip from his glass. Stephen would have been around that age.. He thought to himself. His eyes glazed over a moment as he thought about what he would have been like.
"Well...you could walk with me, for a little bit, if you'd like."
His brow raised slightly. "I.. would love to. But I wouldn't want to impose on your phone call with your daughter or anything of the sort." He smiled gently. "But if you'd like me too, I'd be more than happy to come along."

"Oh, trust me...it's quite a ways a way if we walk, so we'll have plenty of time to chat." Corona said as she stood up, waiting for him to follow her out the door. Once out side of the restaurant, she smiled at him and then asked, "So, I think I've told you enough about myself....now, how about you? Like, what is it you enjoying doing and such. I'm guessing you don't have any kids then right, because--"
She was stopped in mid-sentence as some taxi drove by, spraying Corona with a large puddle as if it had been aiming for her all along. She blinked and then snapped rather unexpectedly, "Bloody hell."

"Oh, trust me...it's quite a ways a way if we walk, so we'll have plenty of time to chat."
He smiled. "Alright then." He took to his feet, downing the last of the champagne in his glass before throwing a ten on the table as a tip for the waiter, and following her out the doors. He took in a deep breath, closing his eyes a moment.
"So, I think I've told you enough about myself....now, how about you? Like, what is it you enjoying doing and such. I'm guessing you don't have any kids then right, because--Bloody hell."
Just as he was about to answer, a cab drove by, spraying Corona with water. His brows scrunched slightly, shaking his head. "Y'okay?" He asked genlty, laying a hand to her shoulder. She didn't look to be soaked, but pretty damn pissed and wet.
A slow smile came to his lips. "I'm sorry, I can't help it. Something about an english woman saying bloody hell, it's adorable." He chuckled easily, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

She shrugged and then wiped her face before nodding. "Yes, I suppose...as long as it doesn't happen again." Cor said with a half-hearted laugh. She then looked at him, noticing he was smiling. Was this really that amusing to him? She was almost about to comment before he spoke.
"I'm sorry, I can't help it. Something about an english woman saying bloody hell, it's adorable."
Her eyes widened and she blushed. Adorable? Heck, even Shames had never said her sudden curses were adorable. She blushed a tiny bit more and completely accepted his arm around her. If anything, she moved a little bit closer to him. "R-Really? Well, thanks. You know, you're sweeter than Evan says." She complimented him.
Heck, even if this man gave her a black eye, Cor probably wouldn't hold it against him. After all, you half to get a man angry for him to actually punch you. It didn't seem that Nicolas would ever hurt anyone. He'd probably make an excellent boyfriend. I mean, he was, after all, Mr. Perfect, right down to the accent and the manners.

She had enough of sitting in the mansion, doing nothing but helping Ainslie. Part of her feared going out into the city and running into him. But part of her wanted to see him. Wanted to say some choice words to him. So, she picked herself up out of the ditch she had created, and got dressed up for a night on the town. Her stomach rumbled slightly as she headed down the street. Per Se was close by, and food sounded nice about now. Standing across the street from said restaurant, she looked back and forth, getting ready to cross the street when something caught her eye. Her brows furrowed as she froze in place. Nicolas.. and.. Corona? She knew Corona hated her.. but.. damn. Maybe Corona fell for the man Nicolas use to be, and still shows to women.. she thought to herself. Shaking her head, her jaw tightened as she quickly crossed the street. "You know, you're sweeter than Evan says."She haltered a moment, but shook it off as she glared at Nic, tapping at his shoulder. " Corona." She said, her eyes flicking to her. " Get away from him." --- He laughed gently, shaking his head as he wiped a droplet of water from her cheek with a grin. " So I've been--" Feeling a tap on his shoulder, his head turned slightly. If this wasn't a surprise, he didn't know what was.. "Corona, get away from him."He gave her a sly look before pulling Corona a bit closer. " And why should she do that, Eva?" He asked, a slow smirk crossing his face as he gave her a knowing look. He saw the healing bruise on her cheek, and almost faltered a moment. Clearing his throat, he shook it off. " Look, Evan. What we had was great. But.. it's over." He told her, in a soft voice. Even though it was all a facade. " So please.." He paused. " Let me move on."
