"Get away from him."
Automatically, she moved closer to Nicolas. "Why? Is he yours now too?" She snorted and then looked away. She listened to them bicker with each other and then sighed, "I like him. Nicolas is a nice, polite, handsome man; and he seems to like me too. Look, he's nice enough to walk me to the hotel."
"Look, Evan. What we had was great. But.. it's over." He told her, in a soft voice. Even though it was all a facade. "So please.." He paused. "Let me move on."
Corona looked at Nicolas and squeezed his arm reassuringly before she took a step toward Evangeline with an incredibly dark glare at her. "I have gone through enough. Stop ruining every bloody relationship I get! One would think you're stalking me!" She hissed. "I plan to walk home with Nicolas while having a nice talk and I'll see where it goes from there. Stop ruining my happiness, Evangeline. I've been through Hell, literally, and I know bloody well how to cause pain."

"I like him. Nicolas is a nice, polite, handsome man; and he seems to like me too. Look, he's nice enough to walk me to the hotel."
His smile brightened as he looked on. "That's right. I'm a nice handsome gentlemen." He grinned, raising his brows at Evan as she shook her head. "I plan to walk home with Nicolas while having a nice talk and I'll see where it goes from there. Stop ruining my happiness, Evangeline. I've been through Hell, literally, and I know bloody well how to cause pain." He wrapped a protective arm around Corona, exchanging a look with Evan. "Now look at what you did." He said, shaking his head. "Go home Evan.. just.. go."
---
You have to be shittin' me. She thought, starring at Nic as he put on his little show. Corona had no idea.. "Look, he's nice enough to walk me to the hotel." Evan rolled her eyes. "Yes, now." She spat, glaring at Nic as he wrapped an arm around her. "But who's to say what he'll be like later. Drunk? Or maybe just pissed off just enough for him to turn on you." She said, her eyes flicking back to Corona. "I'm telling you this as a friend, Corona... If you don't want to hear it, or just simply ignore it. Fine.. But least I can say I tried right?" She gave a quick nod. "Don't trust him." She glared back over to Nic as he smirked at her. "'Cause once you do.. it'll be the end of it."
"Now look at what you did. Go home Evan.. just.. go."
She shared once last look with him before passing by them quickly and down the street. The farther away, the better...

"But who's to say what he'll be like later. Drunk? Or maybe just pissed off just enough for him to turn on you."
Corona chuckled and then raised a brow. "Turn on me? The correct phrase would be turn me on." She looked at Nicolas with a small teasing grin for a fleeting moment; as if slightly hinting upon something. However, this little special moment was interrupted. Her eyes widened at Evangeline's next words.
"A FRIEND?!? Who the bloody hell do you think you are? Friends don't rob other friends of their husbands and happiness!" She snapped, pulling from Nicolas's embrace and stomping after Evan. Shifting the gravity around her so that Evangeline couldn't take another step away. "You listen to me, Evangeline. You are not my friend. Friends don't hurt other friends without caring about the damage they have done. Do you care about the pain you've caused me? NO! Why ever should you care about the pain he might cause? If anything, you should be smirking about what you think is bad taste in men. I don't trust you. Obviously, the night you got beat up was not his fault; it was yours. And who knows, you could anger Shames too."
Corona took two more steps, right in front of Evan's face. "You enjoy watching me suffer? Well, have fun explaining to Shames why his former wife will now be fighting for custody of her daughter! I want to do what's best for her and if that means getting her far away from you, so be it. You're lucky I don't have Sinistra's powers; I'd much enjoy torturing you."

"Turn on me? The correct phrase would be turn me on."
She was going to ignore her. Just keep walking. Corona had no idea[/u] what she was doing. She thought Nicolas was Mr Perfect. Psh, yeah, for two point one seconds before he turned into Mr Hyde. As she walked forward, everything became too heavy to move. She felt like a ton of bricks, stuck there in place.
"A FRIEND?!? Who the bloody hell do you think you are? Friends don't rob other friends of their husbands and happiness!"
No emotion on her face, just a straight jaw, and perfect contract with Corona's eyes. Every so often her sight would waver to Nicolas, wondering if there was anything left inside that hollowed shell.
" Do you care about the pain you've caused me? NO! Why ever should you care about the pain he might cause? If anything, you should be smirking about what you think is bad taste in men. I don't trust you. Obviously, the night you got beat up was not his fault; it was yours. And who knows, you could anger Shames too."
Who did Corona think she was to stand here and say this to her? part of her believed it, the other part knew she was wrong, and was listening to Ainslie's advice over in her mind. "I just... I don't want to see you upset. And I definitely don't want to see you letting Corona get you upset." She tightened her jaw, clenching her teeth as Corona moved closer.
Something was shifting, she could feel it. A slow rumble coming from the ground that grew and grew. She could feel it, and soon enough it grew to where everyone else was feeling it. It was an earthquake, and Evan was creating it. All of that pent up anger and frustration needed to be released, and Corona had done it.
"You don't know SHIT!" She shouted, still glued to the ground as the road behind her began to crack open. Car alarms began going off, and people began running in the oppistie direction. "Who do you think you are, huh? You don't know ONE GOD DAMN THING ABOUT HIM!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
She was waiting for Corona to let her go.. cause when she did.. there would be no holding Evan back.

"I KNOW THAT YOU DID NOT DESERVE HIM!!!" Corona shouted, now compressing the gravity field around Evangeline, tightening it. She had to brace herself a bit from the rumbling but she didn't lose focus. "I KNOW THAT SHAMES LOVED ME AND YOU BRAIN WASHED HIM!!! HELL, YOU MIGHT HAVE MESSED UP NICOLAS TOO, BUT THAT'S WHERE I COME IN. THAT'S WHERE I SAVE HIM!"
While Cor had apparently split Evan open, Evan had just managed to cause Cor to go backwards in progress. Something, some power from deep inside caused a car nearby to explode spontaneously. "YOU WILL NOT TAKE ANOTHER CHANCE OF HAPPINESS FROM ME!!! TRUST ME, EVANGELINE, I AM NOT AFRAID TO KILL YOU!!" Her eyes shifted from brown to red, back and forth, as if something was trying desperately to take over.
But somehow, when she increased the gravity to near suffocating mode, something in Corona broke. She looked dazed, frightened, then petrified; and fell limply to the broken ground.

"I KNOW THAT YOU DID NOT DESERVE HIM!!!"
She whimpered slightly as the gravity tightened around her, bringing her down to her knees. "WRONG HE DIDN'T DESERVE ME!" She shouted back through the pain. She listened as Corona went on, and shook her head barely. "You were dead Corona! HE MOVED ON! It's how the universe works!" She continued on, being forced down to her hands and knees this time by the force of it.
---
Nicolas looked on with furrowed brows. It was a battle within. Part of him wanted to go to Evan, and another to Corona. Though he didn't know Corona well, she was a wonderful woman. His eyes flicked back and forth, confused.
That was until Corona hit the ground with a thud. He quickly went to her, sitting her up slightly, shaking her. "Corona?" His eyes frantically looked for a sign. Something, anything. "Say something..?"
--
Evan felt the force lessen as Corona hit the ground, slowly crawling to her feet. She wiped at her nose as blood dripped down and over her lips slightly. Every step hurt to take as she slowly made her way towards them.
She looked down at Corona with dark eyes, the earth returning to normal as she wiped the blood off her mouth. "I did not steal him. He was free to do as he wanted. We fell in love, and you can't face that, I get it. It hurts like hell.. I get it, okay?" She looked to Nic, exchanging a glance. "Our relationship was always toxic.." Her brows furrowed, as she fought to contain herself. Slowly, she looked back down to Corona.
"You died." She said softly. "In our book, that means no coming back Corona. He had every right to move on." Her gaze lightened. "I didn't steal him.."

Though Corona was out cold, her mind was still open and she could still sense the words being said. Immediately, she responded within Evan's mind. Half of me misses him, half of me just wants to forget all about him. I hate you for making me hate him for loving you. I hate you for never letting him take me back, for you have clung to him so much that he can't even act as though he used to know me. I hate you for making him feel ashamed of loving me once. I hate you for turning my daughter's world upside down, for ruining her wishes and dreams of getting her family back. I hate Shames. He hates me. We're not getting back together and you'll make sure of that, I'm certain. But you need to apologize to Lyra for breaking her dreams even though you weren't aware of it in the first place. Most of all, you need to back off and let me have my happiness again. Let me have love again. There's good in Nicolas, I feel it in my bones and maybe I can give him what you failed to give. It's been a while since I got compliments, friendly gestures, or any type of self esteem boost at all. Don't ruin my future just because he disliked you, maybe he had a good--
Her brain went blank as her mind stopped sending messages to Evangeline's. Some background interference had been going on the last part of her speech. It sounded like a nursery rhyme that had been twisted to satisfy some sick sadist. But soon it had been gone, and Corona's eyes remained open, iris color changing and twitching uncontrollably.

She stood there, taking it all in. So this is what it was like to have that power. To be able to project one's thoughts into another's. She starred down at Corona, silent and still as she went on. "You're wrong." She said softly, calmly. "I never forced him to decide. He did that, it was hid decision, Corona. Not yours, not mine; his. And I have in so many ways told Lyra I was sorry, and I will continue to do so. And maybe on some level.." She trailed off, looking at Nic for a split second. "There is something good in him. But I warned you, and i won't do it again. When he uses you, and abuses you and you feel like worthless trash.." She closed her eyes.
"Don't come and tell me.. I'm done." She looked to Nicolas, reading herself to turn and walk away. "You hear me? Don't come looking for me. Don't call. Don't send threatening mail. "I don't want your poison.." She closed her eyes, turning slowly and walking away.
As she did so, something slipped from her mouth. "You're right though. We have nothing to talk about.. Not anymore." --------
Nic sat there on the street, holding Corona's head in his lap as Evan talked.
"And maybe on some level.. There is something good in him. But I warned you, and i won't do it again. When he uses you, and abuses you and you feel like worthless trash... Don't come and tell me.. I'm done. You hear me? Don't come looking for me. Don't call. Don't send threatening mail. "I don't want your poison.."
Slowly, he looked down at Corona, laying a hand over her. "Let her go." He said softly, slowly. "Corona, just.. let her go.." His eyes shifted a moment. I'll take care of it later.

Tell that to Shames when Lyra runs away from home because of you. Don-- Corona's mind whispered and then she was quiet. Her eyes kept twitching until finally, she gasped, sitting up quickly and wrapping her arms around Nicolas. It was then that she let the tears flow. Yes, she barely knew him, but she felt somewhat connected to him. Whether he was abusive or not, Cor would stick with him. It seemed like Nicolas was the only future she had left.
After a moment of crying on his shoulder, she looked at him softly and asked, "Sorry if this is a bit..forward. But, Can...Can I come home with you?" Corona just didn't want to be alone right now.

She didn't turn around, he realized, and at the moment all his attention was turned to Corona as she wrapped her arms around his neck. His brows furrowed, one hand on her head as the other held her at her waist. "Hey.." He whispered, shushing her.
"Sorry if this is a bit..forward. But, Can...Can I come home with you?"
He looked her over a moment before giving a soft nod. "Yeah.. yeah, come on." He crawled to his feet, helping her up as he did so. "You okay?" He asked gently, a hand on her back before wrapping around to hold her.
His hand rubbed at her arm gently. "What was all that about?" He asked slowly. His tongue darted out, licking at his lips as they started walking down the street, opposite way Evan had went.
It was funny, actually. He thought. I haven't seen Evan explode like that in years.. To see her do that was some kind of spectacle to him. As if it was a performance on a stage for only his eyes to see... He wondered then, if he'd see that when this all came to the end..

Taking notice to his arm around her, Corona leaned her head a bit against his shoulder, hesitantly at first. For something seemed just a little off and she didn't even know the reason why. She dismissed her thoughts. After all, she couldn't let Evangeline get to her. That would mean she was giving up. Corona was definitely not giving up.
"What was all that about?"
"What was what all about? Oh...well, I must be honest with you. I died...once. When I did, I was, in a way, an entirely different person and that different person tends to escape if I'm pushed to a certain limit." Cor explained with a shy expression upon her face. "I'm guessing that's probably what caused the fainting. Then again, I could be talking absolute nonsense right now. As for Evangeline, she was that one who stole my husband and she's the reason why Lyra insists on calling me so often."
Cor looked up at Nicolas with a slightly depressed look on her face and sighed, "Sometimes, I wish I could teach Evangeline a lesson. Sometimes, I wish she would just spontaneously combust or something and my life would return to normal. Of course, those wishes won't come true; but I know one wish that just might be happening right now." She leaned her head against his shoulder and continued to walk beside him, more content than she had been in a very long time.

He listened, but every so often he'd slyly look behind them to see if she was following. She wasn't, smart girl. Seemed Corona and Evan had a little bit in common on the subject of being pushed too far. He shook his head, sighing softly. "Oh."
"Sometimes, I wish I could teach Evangeline a lesson. Sometimes, I wish she would just spontaneously combust or something and my life would return to normal. Of course, those wishes won't come true; but I know one wish that just might be happening right now."
"Oh?" Her perked a brow, returning to his charming self that was walking right next to her. He squeezed to him a bit as she laid her head against his shoulder. "Look, don't you fret any over Evan. Karma has a way of getting people back." He smiled.
Cause he knew she would get her just deserts in the end.

"Look, don't you fret any over Evan. Karma has a way of getting people back."
That was a good philosophy he had. She smiled a bit and then raised a brow. "You really think so? You're too sweet for your own good, Nicolas Reed." She said softly as her eyes gazed up at him. Before he could answer, she had noticed that they were standing there outside of his motel room. At least, it appeared to be. This one, however, didn't look near as bad as the one she was staying at.
Corona looked at the door and then gazed at him, waiting for him to unlock and open it. While she did, she studied his face, his form, the way he presented himself...all of it. For some reason, she got safety from it. He was handsome, apparently strong, and yet, he was a complete gentleman to her. She didn't see why he would ever bother? Why any man would bother to be so...perfect in her eyes for her was a mystery to all.

"You really think so? You're too sweet for your own good, Nicolas Reed."
He smiled. "That's what they tell me." He joked softly. Somehow they got turned around after Evan's appearance, and were now at his motel. Go figure. He grabbed for his keys in his trousers, pulling them out and finding the right one, sticking it in the lock and turning it.
Hearing that noise, he smiled. "Welcome to my home, away from home." He smiled back to her, pushing the door open. "You're more than welcome to come in." He told her softly, taking her hand, leading her into the small room. There was no breakfast nook, nothing fancy. Just a bed, a tv, and a bathroom. It was all he needed really.
"I'm sorry about.. Evan."

"Welcome to my home, away from home." He smiled back to her, pushing the door open. "You're more than welcome to come in."
"Thank you..so much." She said as she entered and then ran a hand through her hair, only to feel tangles from the dirty water the cab had doused her with. She let out a soft sigh and then sat down on a rather plain, ordinary chair that happened to be in the corner.
After a moment of fidgeting with her hands and staring at the ground, she looked up and smiled. "You know..this is very nice of you, to let me stay here...with you...t-tonight." She complimented nicely. It wasn't until Corona said it that she noticed that the slow speed made it hint on something on such a way that she had not intended. If anything happened, she would surely prefer to get a shower first.
Besides, they had just barely met. That was sure not going to happen tonight. Was it? Then again, if things did get slightly steamy, Cor didn't plan on objecting to anything. In fact, she'd probably be quite pleased for it had been a while since she had any action at all. Quickly, she shook the thought away for it was beginning to affect her a bit. "I really appreciate it."

His hands were working on getting his vest off. But he stopped, pulling it halfway off. His eyes met hers, and his mind went spinning. Did I.. I don't remember offering.. Not that I wouldn't mind having a beautiful.. but.. I really didn't, did I? His mind raced to look back over their conversation. No mention of a night with him at all. But then why..?
"I really appreciate it."
He swallowed, finally moving again as he took the vest off fully and placed it on the bathroom door handle. "It's um, no problem." He gave a nod. "I don't have much here.." He said softly. "Sorry.."

"It's um, no problem." He gave a nod. "I don't have much here.." He said softly. "Sorry.."
"No. It's perfect! Much better than mine. Mine doesn't even have a TV."She complimented graciously. As Corona watched him, she found her mind creating images. Why did she see herself removing that vest? Her mind began to twist her thoughts; imagining far more than it should have. She found herself becoming very light-headed and she winced.
Standing to her feet, she walked towards the bathroom door. "Uh....D-Do you mind if I use your shower?" She asked with a hopeful smile. Of course, she didn't have anything but this dress to change into again, but that didn't bother her...much. It was not like she could just ask Nicolas if she could borrow his clothes. That would be too forward even for her. So she waited anxiously for his reply. She wanted to get this tainted water out of her hair as soon as possible. Not to mention, a shower might help calm her nerves a bit.

"No. It's perfect! Much better than mine. Mine doesn't even have a TV."
He smiled. "Doesn't even have a tv." He repeated, shaking his head. "That's a shame." He chuckled. He reached up, undoing the knot in his tie as he gave it a few yanks before tearing it off and throwing it on the bed.
"Uh....D-Do you mind if I use your shower?"
His head turned, loosening the top buttons of his shirt as he smiled. "Of course." He said gently, giving her a once over. She only had that dress, it would be a shame to be clean and put on a dirty dress. "I have a shirt and uh.." He grinned, a soft blush creeping over him. "Some boxers. If you want." He offered, walking over towards one side of the bed.
He bent over, grabbing the suitcase and pulling it out. "Have your choice." He smiled, beckoning her over.

Just as she was about to open the bathroom door, she caught his words and paused. What a sweetheart! I don't even have to ask him for things. Corona smiled at him and said softly, "Thanks." She then walked over to his suitcase. She grabbed a simple red shirt and some black boxers and hurried off into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.
The warm water felt perfect upon her skin. It was what she needed to calm herself, to stop herself from thinking such forbidden thoughts. She sung softly as she showered, enjoying this short time to be alone. "Come on, Cor, pull it together. It's not like we're going to become all intimate in one night." Cor muttered to herself and then turned off the shower. She wrung out her hair a bit and then pulled on the boxers and shirt, which showed a bit of cleavage but didn't seem too bad.
Taking a deep breath, she opened the door nob and walked back in the room. Corona was half expecting him to be sitting there watching television.

Hearing the shower run, he groaned slightly as he rolled onto the bed, grabbing the remote and flicking through channels. Seemed nothing interesting was on. Sighing, he threw the remote to the side, and got lost in the sound of the shower in the bathroom.
He closed his eyes, leaning his head back. She's beautiful. He scratched at his nose a moment as he heard the bathroom door open. "Hey, you feel--" He dropped off, his eyes landing on her.
She looked good in his clothes. He smiled softly, motioning for her to come over. "You feel better?"
