"Um...What the hell was that?"
She just laughed lightly and shrugged, leaving him to figure it out. It was...whatever he wanted it to be, really. Once more, Spyra's "act-now-think-never" philosophy had kicked in. And apparently her brain had wanted very much to kiss him, so she had.
"I need some time to think that over--to be sure. Y'know."
She pursed her lips and shook her head. "Well, there's a time limit on that offer; I gotta get home soon. So. Better make up your mind fast." She grinned to him as his dog bounded over to her. Bending over to pet Felix, she added, "Tick tock, tick tock."
"Seems he likes you." He said softly. "Can't blame him, kinda fond of you myself."
Spyra chuckled, shaking her head a little. "What can I say? I just have a way with dogs." She fussed over Felix a moment before adding. "And non-knights in armor too, I guess." Staightening up, she jutted her hip out, resting one hand on it. She tipped her head to the side and looked to him expectantly. Now or never...

No answer. Well, he wasn't expecting that. He took a breath in and sighed softly. "Okay." He said softly, moving to walk towards her. "So.. Spyra." He was at a loss for words--which was a first for him.

"You're somethin' else, you know that?" He chuckled. "But alright. I'll take the offer, being this 'mysterious stranger' and all, could have it's advantages." He grinned. Felix turned, looking at him and begging for a pet. He smiled, leaning over and giving the dog a good scratch behind the ear.
"What can I say? I just have a way with dogs." She fussed over Felix a moment before adding. "And non-knights in armor too, I guess."
"You're so funny." He smirked, joking slightly. "So which way is home?" He asked, looking around the darkened street.

"You're somethin' else, you know that?"
She smirked, nodded. "It had been said before, yes." Everyday of her life, it seemed. Her mother, brothers, sister, father, uncles, teachers... But not always in a positive manner...
"But alright. I'll take the offer, being this 'mysterious stranger' and all, could have it's advantages."
She laughed outright at that, nodding. "Oh yes, it certainly does have its advantages. Unfortunately, those advantages take some time before coming into play..." She pulled a face as if she was apologetic about this. He would just have to wait and see... Becuase if he could play games, so could she.
"You're so funny." He smirked, joking slightly. "So which way is home?"
She grinned to him in thanks for the faux-compliment. Finally pulling away from Felix, she gestured in the direction she had been heading before happening upon him. "Right this way." She started off and was suddenly very happy that he brother wouldn't be home for another hour or so. Usually this made her sad because she missed her brother but tonight... Well, she didn't need Elias getting all protective-big-brother on her.

"It had been said before, yes."
He fell into step beside her, Felix walking ahead of them--tail wagging. "That's grand." He laughed softly. Of course, he was told that a few times himself. Something about his appearence--always made people think he was from the wrong side of the tracks-per se.
"Oh yes, it certainly does have its advantages. Unfortunately, those advantages take some time before coming into play..."
"Oh?" He chuckled, looking over at her as they walked. "Sad day, indeed then, hmm?" He teased softly, placing his hands in his jeans pockets. His mind still reeling over her version of a kiss--that wasn't a kiss! That was a peck..
"Got any family?" He asked, wanting to make some kind of conversation while they walked. Other than flirting--which was a constant with him.

"Got any family?"[/u]
She laughed openly at that. "I'm Greek, sweetheart," she replied, cocking in eyebrow. "I've got more family than I've got hours in the day," she quipped. "But I live with my brother now. Well... I think I live with him. Sometimes I can't really tell 'cause he's just about never home." She forced up a light smile for that.
She was glad she had met him when she had. It was just a few blocks to her and Elias' place. Long enough that she wouldn't be too sorry to see him go, but not too long so they would run out of things to say and fall into an awkward silence.
"What about you? Is it just you and Felix in some fifth-floor, walk-up studio apartment?" She guessed. Except, oh wait: that was where her and her brother lived. Well, seventh floor walk-up. Her fingers played over Felix's head, stroking there softly.

He chuckled softly. "God.. I wouldn't be able to handle that." He smiled over at her, as Felix walked around them in a circle. "But it must be nice--having all that support and all, right?" He asked, perking a brow.
"What about you? Is it just you and Felix in some fifth-floor, walk-up studio apartment?"
He laughed loudly at that, shaking his head. "No, no." He shook his head. "It is just me and Felix, but it's a mansion, actually it's uh.." He paused. "Belleza Francesa." He sighed. "Got a brother and a sister in Massachusetts." He confided. "Connor and Sophie."

"God.. I wouldn't be able to handle that." He smiled over at her, as Felix walked around them in a circle. "But it must be nice--having all that support and all, right?"
She laughed with him softly. "Some days, I don't think I'm able to handle it, even," she admitted. She loved her family and the chaos and inspiration that came from it, truly she did. But some days... Somed days it just got to be too much. At his next question, she turned to give him a soft smile. "Yeah, it can be nice," she agreed. "It's got it's moments, anyway."
"No, no." He shook his head. "It is just me and Felix, but it's a mansion, actually it's uh.." He paused. "Belleza Francesa."
Belleza Francesa... What had she heard that name before? Something with... Oh! That was the mansion that that heiress had founded! The mutant home! Holy crap, that meant that he was a mutant. Eyes wide, her mouth dropped open. "Fuck me silly," she declared softly. "You're a mutant!" She swallowed, facing forward again, a smile finding her face. "Awesome." She had about a million questions for him but figured he wouldn't like that, so she kept her mouth closed. But she wondered what his powers were, if there were a lot of them, what it was like, what he could do, if he could turn them on and off....
"Got a brother and a sister in Massachusetts." He confided. "Connor and Sophie."
"Massachusetts?" she asked. She could see that, she guessed. "Sophie... Pretty name." She grinned, turning to him again. "Are they younger or older?"

"Some days, I don't think I'm able to handle it, even,"
He gave a nod. "Right, understandable with all those people mushed together." He smiled softly at the image. "Yeah, it can be nice," she agreed. "It's got it's moments, anyway." This was turning into one weird conversation--atleast for Jude.
"Fuck me silly,"
He laughed aloud, shaking his head. One sentence popped into his head--but he refrained from saying it. "Mhm." He chuckled. "You're a mutant! Awesome." He shook his head. "It can be. It has it's own advantages." He declared with a smile.
"Massachusetts?" she asked. She could see that, she guessed. "Sophie... Pretty name." She grinned, turning to him again. "Are they younger or older?"
"Mm, Connor is older than me, and I'm older than Soph." He smiled, picturing his little sister smiling up at him. He wondered how she was doing, how his mom was--Was dad still being a dick? He sighed, shaking his head--He'd call them later.
"What about you, older, younger?"

"It can be. It has it's own advantages."
She laughed at that, consenting a nod. "Yeah, I'll bet," she agreed. She was a little jealous actually. Being a mutant must be so...cool. Well, the discrimination some people seemed to hold toward them would suck. But having all those crazy powers? Awesome.
His smile as he spoke of his family brought a smile to her own face. It faded quickly though and she wanted to ask what was wrong. But then she realized it was probably just personal, family stuff. Not something to get into at that moment.
"What about you, older, younger?"
Spyra chuckled, thinking of her family. "Well, Elias, Theo and Ionna are all older; Elias is who I live with now. Niko's younger than me and that's it for brothers and sister. I got loads of cousins that are like siblings though. Just as many younger as older there."
She tucked her hands into her pockets, scuffing her shoes on the eroded concrete. She missed her loud, crazy family. Maybe she should try to give them all a call...

He laughed aloud at that, shaking his head. "Damn, that's alot of family. I have my hands full with just Connor and Sophie." He laughed. "Y'know my mom wanted to name Soph Lucy? After the song 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds'? Luckily my dad talked her out of it." He shook his head smiling.
He looked around at their surroundings, if he remembered the route, he could pop up and say hi at a later date. He smiled, pulling his lips in as they walked. "We gettin' close?" His eyes went to Felix as the dog went running towards something.
"Just asking, cause I think we're being followed.." He looked behind him easily, and then to the side.

"Damn, that's alot of family. I have my hands full with just Connor and Sophie."
"You're telling me," she countered, smile on her face. She did love her lots of family, though. Kept things interesting at the very least. And never failed to give her inspiration for her writing.
"Y'know my mom wanted to name Soph Lucy? After the song 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds'? Luckily my dad talked her out of it."
She laughed openly at that. "Oh gosh. That would've been... I take it your parents are strong Beatles fans, then?" she asked. Just naming him "Jude" could have been a coincidence. But wanting their daughter to be "Lucy" after -in the Sky with Diamonds was the clincher. They were followers of the Fab Four; they had to be.
"We gettin' close?"
She glanced around a minute before nodding. Just another two blocks till they got to her apartment building. "Just asking, cause I think we're being followed.." Spyra's entire body tensed at that, frightened. "Followed?" she asked in a whisper, forcing herself not to look around obviously. "By who?" she asked. Dumb question. How would he knew who they were being followed by? But she had to admit, she was a little freaked out.

He smiled softly, his head turning to look behind them. "Yeah, huge fans." He laughed airly, as he removed his hands from his pockets. He didn't like this.. It was like he could sense something following them. Or maybe he was just slightly paranoid after being captured so many times.
"Followed?" she asked in a whisper, forcing herself not to look around obviously. "By who?"
"I don't know." He whistled out for Felix, but he never came. "Felix, you.. freakin' mutt." He mumbled out. "Felix!" He shouted one last time. Felix rounded the corner at full speed, barking as he chased a cat down the street. "No! Stupid.. dog." He laughed softly, shaking his head.

She could see he was umcomfortable. Just from his stature, the way he was holding himself, she knew he could feel the presence of whoever --whatever-- was following them. She swallowed and edged a little closer to him. Okay, so he wasn't her knight in shining armor. But he was a man, a strong man. A strong man with powers. So yeah, she was gonna stick close to him.
"I don't know." Reassuring.
His dog ran off and she laughed softly. "Saw a cat?" she asked. But she was still tight with worry. She wanted to know what was following them and why and how they could lose it...
She shoved one shaking hand into her hair, forgetting it was wrapped with a headband. Running her fingers through anyway, she caught the band at the ends of her hair, eventually tucking it into her jeans pocket. She fought to still the nervous movements.

"Saw a cat?"" Yeah I guess--" He paused, his eyes locking on something in the corner of his head. Turning slowly, he saw a shadow of a demon, his eyes glowing red in the darkness. Swallowing hard, he grasped onto Spyra's hand. " Get on.." His head flew back to look in her eyes before letting go of her hand. Quickly, he shifted into a black stallion His head jerked up and down anxiously waiting for her.

"Get on.."
The urgency in his voice caught her attention. Meeting his eyes, she was barely able to register what happened next. Because there was a horse in front of her. And no Jude... In a split second of surprised idiocy, Spyra really thought that the horse was what had been following them and it had just killed Jude or something.
Then she realized this must be some part of his mutant powers. Awesome. She climbed on a little awkwardly, cinching her arms around his next and tightening her legs. All right, so she had been thinking of riding him but this wasn't exactly what she had had in mind...
Whistling high, she called hesitantly for Felix. Couldn't leave his dog behind, could they? She held a little tighter.

His hooves hit the pavement in a rhythmic pattern. Seven blocks down and he slowed to a walk, turning to stand there, watching to see if he would follow. He breathed heavily, shaking his head as he snorted. He loved being a horse, he had so much energy, so much power.
After a moment, he relaxed, shifting back to human form, with Spyra in his arms. "You okay?" He asked, sighing deeply. Sweat ran down his face as he starred into her eyes. He wasn't sure if this was the right time for this, but he wasn't hesitating, cause it sure as hell felt like it to him.
Getting lost in her gaze, his head bent down slightly, catching her lips in a firm but gentle kiss.

She was from Newark, New Jersey. They didn't have many horses there and Spyra, in fact, had never been on one in her life. Not even a pony on one of those fair rides or something. So riding through the streets on the back of a swift, strong, powerful stallion was quite the experience for her.
But she wasn't scared. No, she wouldn't say that. She was just...a little overwhelmed maybe. And then he was suddenly a human again and holding her. At his question, she nodded jerkily, eyes finding his. He looked beat, though. Which was to be expected after racing like that. She opened her mouth to ask if he was all right, and then if whatever had been following them was still at it.
She never got the chance though as his lips fit over hers sturdily. She gasped a little, just from surprise, before sinking against his chest, into the kiss. Her nose nudged against his and she let her eyes sink closed as she tried to get her heart relax from the earlier scare.

He slowly placed her to her feet, but before she could move, he grabbed her face. Leaning in with a soft smile, his kissed her deeply. Pulling back a few moment later, he smiled, whistling out for Felix. "Now that's a kiss." He grinned over at her.
Hearing a soft whine, his brows furrowed. "Felix.. Come here boy." He walked into the middle of the street, his eyes searching before finally landing on Felix. He was limping his way down the road. "Hey.. what'd I tell you, huh? Don't attack them buddy, just run." He lifted Felix's paw, seeing a thorn sticking into his padding.
Gently, he pulled it out and allowed Felix to lick at his slight wound. Turning to Spyra he smiled sheepishly, running a hand through his hair. "I think we out ran him. But I think we should get you home."

Feet on the ground, she was immediately comforted. Being able to feel the solid street beneath her... Before she could revel in that sensation too long, he was kissing her again. And ohh, it felt good. Whatever nerves she had lingering from the escape disappeared as she tipped her head up to give a better angle. She liked the feel of his fingers on her face.
"Now that's a kiss."
She chuckled huskily and nodded. He would get no argument from her on that. That had most definitely been a kiss. And a damn good one at that.
She followed him as he trailed to his dog, hands turning over one another. Hearing the dog's pained whine, she bit her lowerlip. "Poor Felix," she sympathized softly. Reaching out, she ran her hand over the dog's head and down his snout. She didn't like when animals were hurt. Especially since Felix had been hurt while chasing after whatever had been tracking them apparently.
"I think we out ran him. But I think we should get you home."
She nodded emphatically. Forget writing. She just wanted to curl up in bed and sleep until the next afternoon. What an eventful evening... "Kay. Gotta go back he way we came now," she said, stating the obvious as she went on petting Felix. She chewed on her lowerlip a moment before rising. Sticking close to Jude, she asked, "What was that?"
But she wasn't sure she wanted to know.

"Poor Felix,"
He looked back at his dog, seeing him walk slowly over to him. "He'll be fine after some rest." He reassured her softly. Just being this near to her, all he could think about was kissing her again. It took all he had to raise his hand and not touch her face, instead, he rubbed at the back of his head.
"What was that?"
His eyes caught hers. "What?" Then it suddenly dawned on him. "Oh, you mean.. the horse." He sighed, giving a crooked smile. "I'm a shifter, among other things." He said softly. "That was my flight or fight reflex." He chuckled gently.
