Saikoro made sure she was somewhat sheltered and he whispered quietly, "Emma...quiet....do not anger him....he'll rip your baby right out of you if he get's mad." He didn't want any sudden movements. This wasn't simply, Azrael or Bella, or Ace. This was someone darker....this was death itself, basically. He said, keeping watch. Finally, he saw him appear and was shocked to see his former self once again. Had he really looked so similar?
For a half a second, Saikoro wished he could switch bodies and start all over....but then he remembered who this man was. He winced and then whispered, "When I have him pinned, I want you to run....just run and don't look back. If no one hears from me after this is over, tell Amarie I'll find a way to come back to her...and that I love her more than life itself."

Zarael laughed malevolently and then became visible. His appearance was impeccably similar to Saikoro's. It was basically a slightly older version of Sai. It was even difficult to tell them apart. Smirking, he took a step forward. "Oh....I wouldn't talk if I were you.... You see," He paused and then began telekinetically poking the inside of Emma's body. "Ripping out a baby....sounds more fun than a trip to Hawaii."
"When I have him pinned, I want you to run....just run and don't look back. If no one hears from me after this is over, tell Amarie I'll find a way to come back to her...and that I love her more than life itself."
"Awww....don't go. You know Saikoro, I'm only here to get my life back. All you have to do is die....sacrifice something." He explained with a grin and then slowly began to twist Saikoro's intestines around in his body, causing Sai to crumple to the ground in pain. "You stole my life....and now, I want it back. You're not Saikoro.....you were never Saikoro. You were just a copy....an altered imitation."

Her hand snapped quickly to her stomach, wincing a little, presently going about sending the baby more soothing emotions, so it wouldn't get worried and start having a kicking fit. That was the last thing she needed right now--no, the last thing she needed was to have another baby threatened. Nothing was going to fucking happen to this baby.
Just run? No, she had a better idea. She was tired of running; always leaving someone else to the fight, to suffer.
Using her Empathy, she worked to ricochet some of the emotions Saikoro was enduring back to the dark spirit that had recently become visible, hoping to throw him off. "Hang in there," she coaxed Sai, dropping to a knee beside him, hand on his back.
"Don't let him win."
Her eyes flashed back up to the Saikoro look-alike. "Leave him alone! For once, he was finally able to get rid of you bastards who are so bent on torturing his life. Just go!"

It did through him off, in so much as he began to wince and then stopped. His life? " HIS LIFE?!?" He shouted, the ground beginning to tremble like jello. He looked like he was about to burst. "My life! That is not his life at all! He has stolen my name....my life! "He was angry, and it was obvious.
Saikoro, however, just breathed deeply and then chuckled, smirking at Zarael. "Right....I forgot about that....You got demoted and I got your place. Sorry....you lost." He teased and then sat up, only to fall back down when Zarael began to mess with him again. "Emma....please, run before it's too late!" he winced quietly. "Save yourself!"

No, they could do this! He needed to get away, too... She stayed as concentrated as possible (a difficult task), trying to see if she could warp them into another time period, just for a moment, to escape. But things were complicated, with two people, and the lack of consistency, and the baby, and, fuck, the hormones, and it just didn't seem to be working right now. The right mindset was impossible in these conditions, and she was barely used to having this power, anyway.
"And watch you writhe in pain?" she snorted, shaking her head. Throwing another blast of emotions at Zarael, much harder this time, she truly prayed that it keep him at bay for two minutes--if not, one minute; fuck, thirty seconds. Just some time to recollect themselves and think of something rational.
The ground began to shake something awful, and she braced herself. Was Cian feeling this? Should she get him? make sure Ollie was okay?
The emotions she'd sent to the baby were obviously futile, or wore off too quickly, because she was sent in a whirlpool of emotions herself, from everybody and everything around her. The world spun. Shit, she couldn't see...
She was fairly certain this was not safe for a pregnant individual.

He awoke to the earth shaking and was pretty sure that it wasn't a dream. Because the tremors had knocked him out of bed and he landed on his side which hurt a rather lot. And you couldn't get hurt in dreams, right?
Oliver was crying in his room and Emma wasn't asleep next to him. Could it be an earthquake? In New York? Panic seized his veins and he scrambled to his boy's room. "Oliver?!" His voice held a frantic edge to it as he slid through the doorway. Oliver was sitting up in bed, tears running down his face. "Daddy!" he cried, arms reaching out for Cian. He moved to his son immediately, taking him up in his arms and holding him close. "All right, love. Okay." He rubbed a soothing hand over the boy's back, shaken.
What to do?
Finally he made his brain work and dashed to the kitchen, scooping up his cell phone. He dialed Emma with trembling fingers and moved to the window as he listened to the rings. He glanced outside to see what was happening and saw... Well, shit.
Without a thought, Cian clapped the phone shut, threw it aside and headed outside. He kept Oliver locked against his chest. He didn't really want to bring his son into whatever the hell was going on outside but...he couldn't bear to leave him alone in the apartment.
"What the fuck?" he gasped, breaking to the outside not a second later (thank you, super-speed). His eyes darted from Emma to Saikoro to whoever the fuck the other one was. He could feel his body start to heat up a bit, anticipating a fight.

Saikoro laughed a bit and then shook his head, sitting up and looking at Emma. "You just don't see the danger, Emma. This man......is worse than Azrael. He'll do far worst then carving my name on your arm." He said with frustration. He then noticed that Cian had come out. He stumbled to his feet and then shouted, "CIAN, YOU IDIOT!! GET OLLIE INSIDE, NOW!!!" As the ground stopped shaking, Zarael cackled and then looked right at Cian & Oliver. "I bet you wish that was you, don't you Saiky?!?" He taunted and then disappeared once more. He appeared right behind Cian. "He's right....you are an idiot Mr. Cian Lawrence........but I'll spare your life if you beg." He focused his torturous powers directly at Cian.

Once the ground stopped shaking she was able to stabilize herself a little bit more, hoisting herself to her feet and looking over to the new presence on the scene. Her heart lipped when she saw Cian standing there with Oliver, knowing that now that the quaking had ended, Ollie really should be in the safety of the apartment. But, he was already out here, and it'd be impossible to get him back in without Zarael following...
Or was he really just after Saikoro? How was it they always ended up in compromising positions with him...? Why were people/things always coming after him...?
This was no time for chiding, but Emma glared at Saikoro. "Don't call him an idiot." In the heat of the moment, it was reflex--no one was going to do anything to her family, including calling her husband an idiot.
Her eyes widened as she saw Zarael appear behind Cian, and she took a jump forward, going to his side and clutching his hand. "No!" she shouted, struggling to focus her Empathy at him. It was proving futile. She was so tattered and worn; they just wouldn't project anymore. She needed time to recuperate her powers. "Stop it!"

It hurt. A lot. But his fortitude was a blessing at this moment, keeping him from being crippled. His face screwed up in pain but he managed to pass Oliver to Emma. With a jerk of his head, he gestured for her to go inside. Get inside NOW. God, he had been stupid. Not an earthquake, Oliver would have been fine inside. Too late now.
He turned and swallowed bracingly. Why was it that Saikoro was always around when they were being attacked? "So, I guess I'm kicking your ass?" That was the Irish in him. Just point him at an enemy and pull the trigger. He'd ask questions later, after the fight, maybe, if he thought of it.
He took a moment, letting his telekinesis and pyrokinesis gather power.

Saikoro hobbled over to Cian's side. He looked him half in the eye as he whispered, "You should probably go inside too.....he'll go after Emma & Ollie before anyone else." He had a good point. After all, Sai had to think; what would he do if he was evil? It wasn't that difficult. But then what worried him was Zarael's next move. "AH! Good idea, Saiky!" He smirked, stopping his power only to aim it at Emma. He moved closer and then said darkly, "Let's see how long until you scream out in pain......maybe we can splatter your pretty little insides all over the place too. Ahh....where is Bella dear when you need her?"

It'd been one thing to know Ollie was once terrified out of his mind from being kidnapped, but to watch her husband undergo torture like this right in front of her...goddamn her if it didn't hurt. And there was nothing she could do. Her powers were immobilized for the time being, so she couldn't send him any soothing ones of her own to douse the pain some. She had to watch...watch, and turn her boy's head into her shoulder so he didn't have to see anything.
Her knees immediately bucked out from under her as the torture reigned on her. Emma's eyes grew wet and wild, though they were clenched shut, teeth gritted against each other as she did her best to keep her hold on Oliver. The emotions raging around the place added with the psychic-torture...
She pitched over some and wrapped her arms around her stomach, getting pelted with kicks and aches alike. Every muscle hurt. Few thoughts came, and when they did, they were incomprehensible. Her throat was too dry to choke out any sort of scream. She needed it to stop before it did permanent damage to her, or worse to the baby. Cian, get Ollie inside...

Cian had no thought. Hearing Emma cry out in pain was enough to click that switch. A few streetlights nearby popped from overheating. Without even really meaning to, a fireball pulsed from him, hitting whoever the hell this asshole was dead-center. He had put some telekinesis behind it, he guessed to help the force of it.
Whirling to Saikoro, his eyes wild, he said through gritted teeth, "If y' can't do anything t' help, get my wife and son inside. Now." His voice was thin with restraint and lingering pain. He was so fucking tired of all these fucking people walking into his life at the best parts. He just wanted to enjoy Emma and Oliver and the coming birth of their child and god-fucking-dammit this sonuvabitch was going the fuck down.

Zarael laughed maliciously once he was slammed into a nearby wall from the fireball and the force. He found it rather amusing, but he didn't stop fighting because of it. He stood up slowly and then grinned, shooting a large gust of his psychic torture at Saikoro; who in response, let out a painful shout. However, Saikoro shook it off after he heard Cian speak. "If y' can't do anything t' help, get my wife and son inside. Now."Sai glared darkly and then shadows crept along the ground. "YOUR son!?!" He shrieked rather filled with shock and a bit of disbelief. "He is NOT your son and you KNOW it, bloody Irish bastard!" When he shouted, the ground shook violently. It was easy to see that Zarael no longer had to do anything; his plan worked like a charm. Zarael had a dark, dangerous effect on Saikoro. He made him angry. He took a step forward and then his eyes seemed to glow like fire. "Take it back." Sai commanded in a hushed yet threatening tone.

Cian's blast broke Zarael's concentration and Emma was relieved of the torture. Her hold on Ollie was weak and shaky, so she set him on his feet, though he only started to whimper at the sight, not wanting to be let go. She couldn't pick him back up yet. She barely had enough left in her to pick herself up. Hell, she was shocked she wasn't crippled.
It was one thing to be under the difficulty of a mutant pregnancy--it was another to have psychic torture added onto it. Staggering to her feet (she felt like she was going to fall right back down again), she went over to Saikoro, feeling the ground begin to tremble again.
"Stop..." she groaned, begging him. This wasn't the time to get into a biological debate.
The shaking started to get worse, and she steadied herself as best she could against the apartment building's wall, grabbing Ollie, but not having the strength to rest him on her hip. She had to pin him to her leg with one hand, doubled over, eyes scanning the three men (or, two men and one demon).
"Saikoro, stop!"

Cian's head still ached from the torture he had endured. Putting a hand to his temple, he squeezed his eyes shut. "Fuck; fine! He's your son! Just get him the fuck out of here!" Cian didn't care about giving that one to Saikoro, whatever. He just wanted Oliver and Emma out of there, to safety. If that meant tell Saikoro that Oliver was his, then fine, he would. It hurt and he hoped Oliver didn't think he was tossing him aside, but he would do it.
Emma's groan made her spin to her. Seeing her in such pain made his heart clench. He swallowed dryly and went to her, putting a hand to the side of her face. "Emma... Can you get out of here, please? Time travel or something? Anywhere, love, just get somewhere safe and come back tomorrow, when it'll be safe. Please?" She had to go. And if she wouldn't leave without him then... Then he would go with her. He wanted to stay and kick this mystery man's ass (and maybe even Saikoro's, if the occasion arose) but if the only way she would leave was with him, then he'd go.

Saikoro was satisfied. He was glad Cian finally admited to that. "Just remember that...he's not yours." He said lowly. He then slowly picked up a car with darkness, in which he hurled in Zarael's direction. The car landed and no sound was heard. "There.......now you--" Sai was stopped in mid sentence when the car hovered up and went flying at him, hitting him hard into the ground. Dust and debri was all that was seen and it wasn't really clear if Saikoro was even alive. He was no where in sight. Zarael just cackled before turning invisible and making his escape. When the dust finally cleared, there was the crushed car, half embedded in the ground.....and blood.

Leaning into Cian's touch, Emma shook her head. "Can't. Won't work. None of my powers will." It was like the torture and the overuse of her Empathy had drained all of her mutant-ness for the time being; like she had to be recharged, in a sense. Strange--it'd never happened before. Instantly she blamed being pregnant. She should've known.
Then she scoffed. "Oh, yeah, right. Leave you here to let yourself get killed? You're real smart sometimes." She gave him the tiniest of playful smiles, before watching Saikoro go after the mystery demon again. For a minute she mentally praised him for being tenacious, then she scolded him for not expecting a retaliation.
"Duck!" she screamed, but it was futile. In the few seconds it took for her to hear the crash of the car on the ground, Saikoro was gone, blood was pooling around the site of the wreckage, and giant flames erupted from the debris. She turned Oliver into her chest, holding him close. The temperature around them skyrocketed.

"Wonderful," Cian said sarcastically. "No, Emma. You go now. Please." He glanced over his shoulder a moment, quickly. "If you won't leave without me then, hell, I'll leave with you. If that's what it takes." He was not ashamed of running away from a fight. If it meant saving his family, then he really didn't care.
At Emma's scream, he turned and caught the tail-end of what had happened. Reacting without thinking, he extinguished the flames and sent the car up and skidding toward the side. It was headed straight for the mystery man but he hadn't really been aiming for him; just getting it off Saikoro. Not that Cian really cared. But Emma would be upset if Ollie's father died.
Ollie's father...

For a moment, Saikoro had blacked out. When he finally came too, he realized it was difficult to breath. Suddenly, he felt the car lifted from him and as it did, he felt a great pain in his arm. He noticed that there seemed to be a piece of the middle that had gone through his arm. But that didn't stop him from pulling himself shakily to his feet. There were cuts all over his body and he was pretty sure that his side was bleeding but he didn't care. Catching his breath, he looked around and said loudly, "Is everyone......is everyone alright? Is he gone?"
His vision kept swaying and blurring and he was pretty sure that his eyes were barely open, but in his mind, he was fine. Saikoro wanted to know if everyone else was alright. To him, physical wounds were nothing. It was the emotional ones that he thought hurt.

Leave? But where? They couldn't get anywhere fast enough, and with her time-travel out of whack...
She coughed from the clouds of smoke pouring toward them, making sure to cover Ollie's mouth as he hacked up a lung, too. He'd been wailing and crying for the past ten minutes, but she'd barely noticed. Wasn't like there was much she could do to calm him, and she didn't really even know how to try. Her main objective was to get them all out of there alive.
"Are you?" she asked Sai urgently, ignoring his question, going to his side and looking over him for injuries. There were sure to be some.
"Cian?" She looked around for him, for some direction as to what to do.
