Her face held no emotion as her bright blue eyes looked around. Fear had managed to creep inside of her, taking a hold of her heart and squeezing it tightly. She took in a ragged breath as she turned around to look into the darkness of the night's street. No matter where she was, she never felt safe anymore. Her breathing haltered as he eyes widened as she starred into the darkened night. Her heart raced inside of her, beating so fast she could hear it through her ears. She felt froze, as if she couldn't move at all. Her feet didn't want to listen to her as she screamed for herself to run. After an agonizing minute, she took a deep breath, turned, and bolted into the bookstore. Her eyes scanned the street as she peered out through the window. " I.. I no wike dis no mores.." She cried softly.

Chayya liked the bookstore. It was mostly quiet in its library-like atmosphere. Which meant that no one spoke, which meant that no one wished anything, which meant that she could just relax for once. And as for this particular bookstore, it was empty except for her and the sleepy cashier. Chayya liked to be a lone. The door slamming open and then shut drew her attention. Chayya's brow ruffled when she saw no one enter. What the hell? Her eyes dropped a little, though, and she saw the little girl, obviously upset. Seeing that the cashier wasn't making any moves, Chayya cautiously walked to the girl. Kids were difficult. They wished a lot and usually for ill-advised or mostly impossible things... "Are you okay, sweetie?" she asked, crouching down to the little girl's level. "Where's your Mama or Papa?"

"Are you okay, sweetie?" she asked, crouching down to the little girl's level. "Where's your Mama or Papa?"
The sudden voice of someone else, made Ember jump, twirling around as a scream left her lips. Her eyes landing on a woman, she quickly shut up. Swallowing hard, she shook her head, turning back to the window. Her eyes were glued to the darkness.
He was coming for her.
Her uneven breathing, made her heart beat faster as her eyes darted around. "I dun.. has dem." She answered in a whispery voice, slowly turning to look at the woman again. Any other time, Ember would have asked who this woman was. But it was no time for chit-chat.
Her head turned back to the window, ever alert as she starred out into the street. The lights above them began to flicker slightly before bursting and falling to the ground. Her entire body began shaking as she slowly walked backwards away from the door.

Chayya was about to respond that she didn't have a Mama or a Papa either when her entire body started to tingle. Feeling the pins and needles climb over her limbs, Chayya tensed. Her danger sense was picking up on something serious... She rose and followed the little girl's gaze out the window. The streetlights popped and then so did the lights within the store. One of the bulbs shattered nearby and Chayya had to use her telekinesis to keep the spray of shards at bay.
As the girl began to walk back, Chayya followed thinking it a good idea to get away from the windows. What the hell was going on? The lone cashier had long since bailed so it was just her and little girl... Chayya put a hand to her shoulder, tugging her a little further back until they were both underneath the doorway that led to another section of the store. Her night vision kicked in easily and she watched for whatever would happen next. "It'll be okay, sweetie," she said soothingly. The poor thing was really frightened... "Just stay close."

Fear had gotten such a hold on her, not a peep was heard from the girl. She stood, silent and still as they both moved farther away from the door. Was it just her, or was the ground shaking? Was it her? Was she shaking so much, she could make the ground move?
"It'll be okay, sweetie," she said soothingly. The poor thing was really frightened... "Just stay close."
There was no problem in that for Ember. She clung to the woman, burying her head into her side as she didn't want to watch anymore. Suddenly a loud crash echoed throughout the story, her head swung, starring as the glass in the windows busted with so much force, the door flew open...

She was tired.
Sick and fucking tired of playing cat and mouse with this fucking kid. Every single time she thought she was close, the kid was no where in sight. She could hear Lucifer's voice echoing from the darkness behind her as headed towards the broken door. 'I want her, Elysia.. I want her now.. I want to be free... Set me free..'
A low, annoying sigh escaped her as she stepped onto the door, her eyes locking on the girl. "Well, well. Seems I finally found you." She smirked, hands on her hips. "You've been a bad girl, running away from me like you have."

The little girl buried her face into her side, hiding and Chayya lay a comforting hand to her head. They could just wait this out, right? It would all pass eventually. Just some weird storm, odd astronomical phenomenon. The windows burst inward, the door swinging open, and Chayya turned her head. She put the girl in front of her, blocking her. She tried to teleport away but she was too stressed, couldn't keep her mind focused enough to land on a single destination.
"Well, well. Seems I finally found you." She smirked, hands on her hips. "You've been a bad girl, running away from me like you have."
At the appearance of the woman, Chayya immediately knew she was no friend of the little girl's. Her danger sense was flipping off the scales and something lingered at the back of her mind that just screamed "bad news." Turning, Chayya watched her carefully, keeping the girl behind her, out of sight. "Can I help you?" she asked, smile saccharine. 'Wish to be safe,' Chayya mentally pleaded the little girl. 'Wish for all this to be over, wish to be away from this bitch, anything!' She wasn't sure it would work, though. Her powers were a little haywire with her adrenaline, she didn't have a good mental fix on the little girl and, even if she did, she seemed scared out of her mind and might not be able to receive the telepathic message.
Fuck.

Ember jumped as the woman entered, as Chayya pushed her behind her. She clung onto the woman's fabric, her hands clenched in tiny fists as she peaked out from behind her. She was having that funny feeling again.. the one she always got when she felt a vision coming on.
Her eyes rolled back, and she slowly slumped to the floor. It was just like before. Nothing but darkness and shadows. A hand reaching out, a voice calling for her to come closer. Without her own consent, her body began to move on it's own. Climbing to her feet, she slowly moved from behind Chayya, facing Elysia dead on.

"Can I help you?"
Elysia's eyes squinted at the woman. "You can move out of my way, Djinn." She smirked slyly at the woman. "Oh yes, I know your kind all too well. In fact, I took pleasure in hunting them down back in the early 1500's. Might be why only few exist to this day." She winked.
Her eyes danced along the room to the girl as she walked out from behind the genie. "There you are." She tsked at her. "Shame on you, don't you know I'm not in the mood for games?" She grinned at the girl. Her brows furrowed as she looked at Ember's eyes, she was in a vision. A dark gleem filled her eyes as she slowly walked forward. "Yes, that's right. Come on over to Auntie Elysia.. I won't hurt you.. I just want a little of your blood." She let forth a eerie giggle.

She didn't let the jab at her race affect her. She knew she was rare these days, that djinns had been hunted. All the more reason for her to stay alive, right? She fixed her eyes on the woman and enlightenment suddenly came. She was a demon. Some must be carrying out some underworld task, then. This was going to be even more difficult...
When the little girl stepped out from behind her, Chayya let her go a minute. Maybe she had some sort of plan. What did the Underworld want with some harmless little girl? Was Lucifer behind this? Seeing the unnatural way she was moving though, Chayya changed her mind. The demon seemed pleased by her appearance as well, so it couldn't be good.
"No, no, sweetie," she called to the little girl. Stepping up, she put a hand to her back gently, hoping to coerce her to stay with her. At the same time, she tried to calm her mind down enough so that she could teleport. "Come on, angel, stay close to me, remember?" Chayya kept her eyes locked on the demon the entire time. She wasn't one to trust demons. At the mention of taking her blood, Chayya reacting, putting the girl behind her swiftly. "That won't be happening," she told the demon, voice dark. Her eyes flashed gold a moment as her ire rose.

"Yes, that's right. Come on over to Auntie Elysia.. I won't hurt you.. I just want a little of your blood."
Despite Ember's resilience, her body lurched forward with another step. "No, no, sweetie," She suddenly felt Chayya's hand on her back, and just like that, the vision had changed. "Come on, angel, stay close to me, remember?"
Where darkness had once engulfed her, Light took over. It was so bright, she had to squint her eyes. A hand emerged, and a soft plead of a woman's voice was heard inside her head. Ember stopped dead in her tracks, and slowly looked back at the djinn.
"No fear, Chayya.." She said softly. Though the elegance of the child's voice remained, something else was now controlling her. She turned her head back to Elysia slowly. "No fear.." She repeated under her breath.
"You can not have her, Elysia. I will not allow it."

"That won't be happening,"
Ely's gaze darkened at Chayya. "Why you little--" She was quickly interrupted by Ember's sudden speech. "No fear, Chayya.." She said softly. Though the elegance of the child's voice remained, something else was now controlling her. She turned her head back to Elysia slowly. "No fear.."
Fire rose up around Elysia's arms and hands as her blood began to boil. "You just pissed off the wrong person, kid." She started with a low growl. "You can not have her, Elysia. I will not allow it." Ely's eyes slightly widened. She knew all too well who was interfering with her objective.
"Well, well. Finally crawl out of you hole.. Omni?"

Chayya's eyes widened at the change that came over the little girl. Suddenly, Chayya felt safe; she trusted the girl to handle things. Aware that this was odd, though, she regarded the scene before her with confusion. In the end, it was Elysia's comment that cleared everything up:"Well, well. Finally crawl out of you hole.. Omni?"
Omni. As in Omnipotent, all-powerful being; The Almighty and Controller of the universe. Holy crap. Somehow Chayya had wandered onto a veritable holy battlefield. This was a Heaven vs. Hell deal and she wasn't too sure she wanted to stick around for it. But... She took another look at the little girl. She couldn't just leave her to fend for herself, even if Omni was protecting her, for now.
Chayya stood her ground solidly. She eyed the demon warily. "With Omni on her side, you don't really stand a chance, huh?"

"Well, well. Finally crawl out of you hole.. Omni?"
Ember smiled softly, her arms loosely at her sides. "Even you know, I watch over everyone." She replied with an even tone. "Ember is destined for more than being a seal to free Lucifer. She has to choose her path, and you, nor Lucifer, can make her decide."
"With Omni on her side, you don't really stand a chance, huh?"
Ember's eyes slid to the side, side-glancing Chayya a moment before turning back to Elysia. "You and I both know this won't end well." She slowly walked forward, gently placing a hand on Ely's. "Even if you are evil, you are my child, and I do not want to see you die." She paused. "Do not make me.."

"With Omni on her side, you don't really stand a chance, huh?"
Ely's jaw tightened as she glared at Chayya from across the room. Lucifer's shadow slid slowly out of the room, and she rolled her eyes. Some king of hell he was, running from Omni like a dog with it's tail between his legs. "Even you know, I watch over everyone." Ely rolled her eyes. "But how often do you interfere?" She rose a brow at her.
"Ember is destined for more than being a seal to free Lucifer. She has to choose her path, and you, nor Lucifer, can make her decide." She felt a hand on her back, turning her head slightly, she heard Lucifer's voice whispering through her mind. 'This is not our battle yet, Elysia..'
"You and I both know this won't end well." She slowly walked forward, gently placing a hand on Ely's. "Even if you are evil, you are my child, and I do not want to see you die." She paused. "Do not make me.."
Stomping her foot on the broken door, like a little toddler having a hissy fit, she retreated swiftly. "This isn't over.."

Ember. Pretty, Chayya decided. She watched the exchange between Omni/Ember silent. As the the demon retreated (thankfully), Chayya moved cautiously forward. She rested a hand on the little girl's head, watching the door a moment. So, she was one the seals keeping Lucifer in Hell. Chayya had heard vaguely about all that happening. She licked her lips a little and looked down at Ember. She would never be safe if she was the one thing standing between Lucifer and freedom.
Pulling the little girl closer, she used her telekinesis to put the door back and a few of the lights back together. As the lights flickered dimly to life, she asked, "Are you all right?" Then, realizing Omni might still be with them, she revised, "Or is that still you, Omni?"

"But how often do you interfere?"
Ely had a point. Omni refused to interfere with her children's lives. But, something made her step in this time. Her head tilted down in thought as Elysia walked off, swearing it wasn't over. She could sense Chayya putting things back together in the store. "Are you all right?"
Who was she referring to? "Or is that still you, Omni?" Ember slowly turned, giving a faint smile as she nodded. "I should go.. She's never been locked into a vision this long before. No telling how it might effect her."
Ember's head rolled back, as her eyes turned to normal. Her blue orbs scanned the room, everything was back to normal... did she dream it all? Was it all just a vision? Her eyes landed on Chayya, and without a word, ran over and hugged her legs.

Chayya nodded as Omni spoke to her. "Bye," she murmured, a little shocked. She was talking to God. Like, THE God. She had been in the room with Omnipotent. Holy crap. She pushed that aside though as Ember came to. The little girl looked around, seeming dazed and Chayya kept her distance. She wasn't sure what her reaction would be. "Are you okay, sweetie?" she asked softly, pitching her voice a little higher to be more melodious.
When Ember embraced her (or, rather, her legs) Chayya felt a little stir in her heart. Poor thing. She must be scared and confused... On an impulse, Chayya picked Ember up and held her close. Running a hand through her hair, she hummed reassuring phrases in her ear.
"Do you have somewhere you stay, Ember?" she finally asked. "Or someone who takes care of you?" If it was Chayya in her situation, she would just want to go home and curl up in bed. But Chayya didn't want the little girl to be alone in this. And she certainly wasn't letting Ember go anywhere without her until she was sure she was in a safe place.

As Chayya picked her up, Ember wrapped her arms around the woman's neck and hide her face in her shoulder. She certainly was confused, what had just happened? Flashes of both visions came at her at once, and made her even more confused.
"Do you have somewhere you stay, Ember?" she finally asked. "Or someone who takes care of you?"
"I.." She started, her lips trembling. She could go back to Rosewood, and to bed. But no one was there to hold her and comfort her the way she wanted to be held and comforted at this very moment. Slowly and steady tears formed in her eyes and rained down her cheeks as she whailed. "I want unca Sammy!"

Chayya was sure her heart broke at that. "Okay, honey, okay." She rubbed the little girls back, hoping to calm her down a little. She held Ember close, stroking her cheek gently. It was a relief that she had someone in her life who could help out. Chayya just hoped Ember knew where her "unca Sammy" was. It would be easy then, Chayya could just teleport them there. But if not....it would turn out to be a long night.
"Shhh, Ember," she murmured. Pressing her cheek against the girl's soft hair, she asked, "Where's Uncle Sammy, huh? I can take you to him, sweetie, but I need to know where he is."
