After ten solid days of the writer's curse, Emmanuelle had decided it was time to get the muse running again; get the blood flowing, ideas racing, adreneline pumping. Having had the need to write, but lacking the words to pen on the paper, the torture was almost too much for her to bear as one person. Her glowsticks were put away in her bag for safekeeping (she wasn't inclined to wear them at the moment), notebook and pen carefully folded in her arms. Inhibited by the actions and the sights--especially the noise that echoed throughout the place--she crept further inside to find a spot. She chose not to be evasive of the drinkers, thinking that they would be fantastic to observe and possibly document as short descriptive pieces. But she was getting ahead of herself. Her project in the works was what she knew she needed to focus on.
Her mother needed the money. Oh God, she was barely hanging by a thread. Emma's own tuitions and needs were stable, so any profit she had vowed would go directly back home. But she'd never written for money before. It was a strange feeling, being financially wary, knowing her mother was in more trouble than she was. After her brother and father had died, the entire family (or what was left of it) dropped into an emotional recession.
Taking a seat at the bar, a few seats away from those gathered in groups, though still in the eyeshot of those dancing and swaying their bodies to the beat, Emma opened her notebook to a clean page and readied her pen, set her eyes on the people, and her brain began to work faster than it ever did. Her mind was constantly in motion, never at rest, and invigorating settings like this were too good for Emma to pass up. A couple at the edge of the dancefloor caught her eye, and she cocked her head slightly. Then, she began to write.

Coal-brown eyes gazed at the flashing lights while a hand reached up to move some brown locks from the figures face. The lights seemed almost blinding to him. They were incredibly bothersome. Bright, nauseating.....he didn't like it. Of course, many things in New York bothered him......ever since it happened. But he was leaving that life behind now; he was starting all over.
Saikoro's past continued to haunt him. Liar! Criminal! Murderer!! They used to shout that about him, endlessly if there was no tomorrow. But that was the last place he had been. This city was new. As he entered the crowd, he seemed to stick out more for he wasn't wearing the usual thing one would wear. He wore a cloak that covered his body. Not many ever saw his face or even dared, for it was shadowed by the hood of his cloak. One could only imagine what he looked like; a dark, horrifying nightmare!
As he neared the bar, a women caught his eye. Why was she sitting there writing? She was in a club; this was no place to be writing. Without thinking, he walked over to her side. "Odd thing to be doing in a club, don't you think?" Saikoro asked without looking at her.

Wrapped up so intently in her writing, Emmanuelle almost didn't notice the heavily cloaked man appear beside her, which was an odd thing to miss. Taken by surprise, she gasped when she looked over at him, not being able to see his face. Why was he dressed like that? Clad in that attire was even more strange than her writing in a club.
"Not that odd," she answered politely, going back to her notebook, not really sure about making idle conversation with a perfect stranger, especially one who looked like he could pull out some weapon at any given point in time. She was soon brought back into the world of her characters, and those characters around her that she constantly; instinctively observed. In that void, her mind slipped away and saw something--something that didn't take place where she was now.
It was a hot, heavy scene. She saw darkness--and lots of sweat. Then it ended, and she came back.
Emmanuelle began writing again.

"Odd to come here to write." Saikoro added cooly. Though his voice was dee[. ot flowed both smoothly yet ruggedly at the same time. "The noise, the lights....what inspiration could you get from this?" He asked. True, it was odd to be writing in a crowded club like this.
Though he looked almost as out of place as she did, his words had a meaning. Turning his eyes to the crowd, Saikoro let out a sigh. "What is there here that is worth writing about? All I see is a mass of bodies and flashing lights." His words expressed his confusion. It was then that he noticed she blacked out shortly. The power of precognition.....at least, that's what he figured.

A tiny smile broke Emmanuelle's face. "Plenty," she answered. Plenty inspiration, indeed. There was so much to take in from all of this. So many different people; different situations--she found it all overwhelming and yet exciting. Who wouldn't get a rush from all this...this thinking? Maybe it was just her.
"There's never nothing to write about. You could take a simple person's way of, oh, drinking water or something, and create an entire life for them." Not wanting to go into babbling, Emma looked back down at her paper before the neon lights caught her eye. Her grin was broadened. Short flashes of faces appeared on the dance floor, and she put her pen down to simply observe. Watch. Soak it all up.
Turning back to him, she regained a bit of solemnity; seriousness. "And what about you? Don't you think that attire is a bit conspicuous in a place like this?"

Saikoro nodded slowly and then turned his body to look at her. He was fully aware he probably appeared quite criminal, but that was the entire point. "I know it is....but that is the point. Like this, no one bothers me." He explained simply and then pulled off his hood.
He was no longer facing her but one could already see how handsome he was. "You could write a life by just observing them drinking water? Hmph....you're a strange girl." Saikoro didn't look to her but he continued to talk. "Precognition is a valuable gift.....you should be careful here, girl. There a many that could want you dead."
Turning his face to look at hers, he studied her face for a moment. However, in doing this, he revealed his strikingly masculine facial features to her as well. "What's your name?"

Emma was used to that--being called strange. It happened; she'd learned to accept their opinions and continue on her way. This one was no different. She proceeded with her writing.
It was when he mentioned her gift that she began to become suspicious. Her heartbeat rose substantially as he went on to mention that many would want her dead in a place like this. Who was he? She didn't turn to look at him--her main thoughts were getting away from him. Lord knew what he could do.
Starting to put her things away, body still turned away from him, she thought about answering his last question, but then decided wisely against it. How did he know about her gift? How could he see it? Who was he? She stood.

As she began to gather her stuff, he laughed a bit and then shook his head. It seemed things like this always happened to him. Saikoro was very use to it. "It's alright....I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just warning you....of the other people in here, the antis." He explained simply. "You never know when they'll strike...but they will."
Saikoro then looked down. "My name is Saikoro....that is, if you wanted to know. I'm not on any side so there is no need to feel....uncomfortable."

Antis. The term made an electric spring of pain shoot up her spine.
But how did he know about them? Slowly turning back to face him, her eyes scanned over his face a few times before she felt all right speaking in a timid, quiet tone. "Side." She'd only recently joined the mansions of the gifted, and was quite new to the dangers of the Antis and the x-mutants, but she'd been forewarned frequently. But this felt so...real. Like no other story she'd heard before.
"Emma."
And she almost regretted saying it.

"Emma..." He repeated outloud. His gaze scrolled away from her to the mash of people again. "Well, Emma...I hope you take my words into thought." Saikoro said with a careless voice. It seemed like she might be a bit curious so if he was going to leave now, she'd probably follow. With a small smirk, he stood straight again and began to walk away.

The thought of the Antis made her very wary of her surroundings now. It was not in her best interest, she realized easily, to follow him. True, he could hold many secrets that she'd feel privileged to know, but it wasn't worth the risk to her. When he began to take up a pace in the opposite direction, she stayed put for a moment, eyes cast to the floor. Now what? She was terribly uncomfortable where she was, but she didn't have much else to do back at the mansion.
Slowly putting her notebook back down on the table, Emmanuelle stole one last glance around before she began to pen a few more words down. This time, her writing wasn't with as much haste as before, like she had to get something out quickly. No, this time she was careful with each curve of each letter, as if there was nothing of importance on that paper.
Saikoro. The name was different, and yet intriguing. What else did he know about her kind?

However, it wasn't long until he had returned, a half grin on his face. His once dark brown eyes were now glowing different colors. Letting out a relieved sigh, he stretched his arms and then sat down next to her. "Ah, yes....so glad to get Saikoro away for a moment. It would please me to talk to you." He said. His voice was no longer like Saikoro's and his face was far more ghostly. The tone of his voice was devious, almost enchanting in a way.
It appeared to be Saikoro but how? This man didn't act like Saikoro. He grinned and looked to Emma. "So....Emma...you're a mutant, yes?" He asked, raising a brow slyly. There was obviously something fishy going on.

When he returned, she was greatly surprised, and almost scared. It was when he started speaking that she was really spooked. There was a different air about him now--something much more mystical; dangerous; unpleasant. This was Saikoro...wasn't it? It looked like him, but his skin was paler, and his eyes were...they weren't the lovely brown she'd noted before.
Mutant. God, he knew. But what could she say? He wasn't to be trusted yet. Who was he? Her heart raced and she stood slowly again, still facing him, but taking a tiny step back. Emma's eyes had grown wide.
Saikoro...get away? But how could that be? this was Saikoro, was it not? He wasn't making any sense. Easing back off still, Emmaneulle kept her eyes steadily on him, unable to think of anything to say, refusing to answer to her name and what he'd said she was.

Of course, every step that she took backwards, he took one towards her. "Aww, don't be scared...I won't hurt you....at least, not yet." He taunted in a clever voice. Then he walked around her so he was now standing behind her. "Emma, Emma, Emma....when will you learn to answer when one speaks to you?" By grabbing her arms from behind, it made struggle practically improbable.
"Now, I asked you a question.......answer it!" That remark was demanding. "Saikoro's not here right now....it's just me...and you. Don't bother in shouting because no one will care, nor will they think you're telling the truth. Everyone is so incredibly intoxicated. I don't see why you don't buy a drink yourself."

Hurt you. Not yet. Every word he spoke made her skin crawl. This wasn't Saikoro. The one who had approached her calmly before was not the right man. Confusion was all she felt--confusion, and fear. What was happening? Before she was able to react, she was held in a restraining position that made escape impossible. His taunting brought beads of sweat to her forehead; made her heartbeat pick up speed; breathing uneven and quick.
"Y-yes," she whispered softly after hearing him shout. She didn't want things like this to get out to people. And he had a point--no one would come to her aid. After she'd breathed the words, she closed her eyes to keep the few tears perched at the corners of them locked in.
The man who claimed Saikoro was not there spoke his last words, and she felt some sort of feeling flourish in the pit of her stomach. Anger. He was mocking her; playing at her with talk. But she kept the tiny seed of fury bottled for fear of what it might do, especially if it grew.

Suddenly, he laughed and then simply tightened his grip on purpose, simply just to hurt her. "Hmmm....really? And you have precognition..." He mumbled, still having not mentioned his name. It was just one moment that he happened to mimic her powers, managing to catch a small glimpse of something.
Right then, he chuckled a bit and then shook his head with pity. "Should've known....yes should've known. Odd how every girl Saikoro fancies always ends up being killed....by me. Too bad he won't get too far since I'm going to do away with you now." He whispered with a chilling voice.

The pain shot through her entire body. She clenched her eyes tightly, opening her mouth to give some interjection, but nothing came out except a small squeak-like noise that was meant to be "Ow." What was happening?
Should've known what? What was he doing? Why did she feel so dizzy? Why was there constant flashes of the same scene over, and over again?
No. She felt her heart sink and her body did away with her breath. Do away with. Killed by me. The chill ran up her spine one more time--this time, coming back down. It make her writhe with pain and fear, but that only contorted the hold he had on her, enhancing the effect of the grip.
The anger she'd felt before began to boil. But Emma didn't feel like she had the strength to unleash it. The tears dripped down her cheeks slowly. She had few thoughts.
I don't want to die. I'm not ready yet. I don't want to die.

"Emma, run.......just run." Someone whispered. It was Saikoro, the normal Saikoro. But the voice quickly changed back as the grip pulled her closer. "Ha, don't listen to him. Saikoro knows absolutely nothing." The teasing voice said with a dark grin and then he laughed again.
Soon, the laughs paused as the vision flashed before his eyes again and then he snickered, "I'm surprised an innocent little girl could be thinking of such tantalizing dangers." A grin crossed his face and it faded as his voice changed once more. "Emma, please, run!"

Who was that? It sounded like...oh, it was familiar. Vaguely. Yes, it was the first man's voice, the one who had claimed to be Saikoro before this man had caught her in a tight grip. But where was he? She looked back to the man in confusion, again twisting her position and resulting in greater agony than before. She couldn't run, even if she had the strength. And who had told her in the first place?
The vision continued to come, this time stronger. Flashing. Nonstop. Her head began to ache. She didn't even know what the vision was--but apparently he did. But how? How could he know what she was seeing? And what were they, that they were so dangerous?
Moving again, she noted her unbound feet. She dare...?
Raising her foot, she brought it back without aim and tried to kick him, just to break free. Yes--she had to run. Had to.

Unfortunately, the man managed to dodge it. However, Saikoro forced himself into the counter, causing Azrael to let go of Emma. "Now run, Emma....just run." Saikoro told her softly, almost as if he had just knocked the wind out of himself. He would follow her once he got Azrael back in control.
Until then, he just stared as his eyes urged her to escape.
