Laura finnaly realized it. The voices... well voice really, was a definate differ from her. It was her but it wasn't. She was split in two in her mind... and the Voice was taking over, quickly and with ease.
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" Laura called out to no one. The park was deserted, as it was midnight. Laura hadn't brought herself to the park. No, the Voice had.
"And why would I want to do that, Laura? I'm you. I'm a very nice place to stay." The Voice retorted. The Voice moved her over to a tree. "This tree is so plain and dull without heat and warmth." The Voice made a fire in Laura's hand and threw it at the tree. "Admit it Laura, you've been enthralled with fire as long as you can remember... Remember, i'm a part of you I know everything."
"Why, why me?!" Laura fell to her knees, again in controll. But the Voice took controll again and ripped off her locket. "Because it is time the fire showed you the way." Laura nodded. "You're right." She stood up. "Let's go home."

Charlotte had no idea what she wa doing out here, at this time. She thought she needed some time to think. She had been alone so long, and now she was considering a mutant home? Mutant home...sounded like and old people home, which meant it was for those who could not manage on their own. Hell yeah, Charli hadn't done a goo job managing on her own. Parents dead, brother murderously chasing after her... It could have been worse, she guessed.
She heard a lone, tortured cry from near by. She automatically tensed, looking for the source of the sound. A girl, throwing a fireball at a tree... She screamed again, and something within her chnaged. She seemed... Like tere was some sort of fight inside of her. Concerned, Charlotte ran over, approaching the younger girl.
"What's wrong?" she asked, her eyes searching the girl, maybe for some physical injury or something else that threatened her well-being. "Are you okay?"

Laura looked over at the girl.
"Yes i'm fine." Remember Laura, we're in this together. "I.. uh.. hit the tree and it made me angry." Making up answers wasnt easy. Laura looked down at her ATs and saw that the wheels were somewhat ruined. "Damn.. now i'm going to have to make new ATs."
She looked back at the girl. "Hello Charlotte."

Oh. So... Whatever. The girl didn't really look okay, but it wasn't Charlotte's place to just... be nosy and inquire further. She never knew what might make this girl flare up (pardon the pun) and Charlotte would be reduced to a crisp. Although Charlotte did have fire powers too, she didn't really like to fight with them.
The sort of direct 'hello' surprised her. "Charli, please," she corrected, used to doing it a lot. Charlotte was not a very fun name. Too lady-like. it made her think of those girls from the seventeen hundreds who had to wear long gowns and weird frilly hair.
"Wait," she said suspiciously, "How did you know my name?"

[[np, my last post was sucky as well.]]
"I'm telepathic, I could find out anything about you. Not that I will or anything, I just don't like ackward introductions. My name is Laura Richards." Laura scaned Charlie's profile. "You ever AT before?"
Good idea, if she is we might be able to get her on the team. Laura smiled. Yes it was much better working with The Voice then fighting it. First thing's first we'll have to get DJ to help us out with getting a place. We could always use the sewers as a base. Laura wrinkled her nose.
You know how much that place stinks? No... What about the abandoned Opra House on Broadway and 56'th? Conversation was oh so much easier now. "So you see ghosts? How exciting." Laura sat down and pulled off her ATs. "So much for these guys. Mental note to self get friction flame proof wheels and find a way to cool the engines. I'm going to have to visit Yana again for repairs."
[[wow she talks to herself more then I do]]
