Maura giggled, tottering away from Daddy a little. He was looking at the elly-fants and Mo wanted to see the lions! Lions were the bestest! They could run realreal fast and pounce and roar like RAWR! Plus Nala and Simba were lions and Nala and Simba were her most favoritest Disney aminals.
Her little hand stretched up to touch the lion's foot, petting the soft fur there. She giggled again, patting the paw. "Lion," she hummed, in awe. They big up close. Like, BIG big. Bigger then when she and Daddy and Ollie and Momma had watched the show on the telly-vision, called Life. And the Daddy lion was yawning! He had sharp, white teeth! And and longlong tongue. Waaaaay, longer than Maura's!
She stuck her tongue out too, eyes on the Daddy lion. She tried to get hers out as far as his was but she couldn't. "Nyahhhh," she said softly, stretching her tongue. But it soon broke into laughter. "Ollie!" she whisper-called, waving her brother over. "Oll-er! Come see the lions!"

Chinchillas did not have faces. He made sure to make note of this as he stared at them in the cage. They appeared to be asleep, their faces scrunched up, half-disappeared. The animals seemed to just be big balls of fluffies. They looked very soft, like Luna. Twisting his mouth at the uncomfortable memories, he grabbed Daddy's hand and dragged him away to look at the other animals. There were so many of them here, lots that he'd never seen before. He especially liked the fishies. What life could be better than swimming around in a tank all day, making faces at people who stared at you and tapped the glass? Turning to Daddy, he sucked his cheeks in, making the best fishy face he could.
The expression was destroyed in ripples of laughter, and then he heard someone call his name. Jerking his head around, he saw Maura, waving him over. Breaking from Daddy's grip, he scampered over to her, but came to a skidding, nervous stop when he saw the big kitty cats.
"Wow," he breathed out, a smile crawling up his face as he took slow steps to Maura's side. "Lions!"

"They so biiiiiiiiiiiig," she drawled, throwing her arms out to indicate the enormity of the cats. Then she clamped her hands over her mouth to stifle the giggles. "Ollie, d'you t'ink Daddy and Momma would let us haff a lion as a pet? We's could keep 'im in the backyarda Rosewoo' or Bee-ella. And we's could feed 'im lotsa cookies."
She passed her brother a smile, tugging on a pigtail. Taking Oliver's hand, she pulled him along after her, gazing up at the big birds in the glass cases. "What's those?" she asked. It didn't really looked like bird. It had a beak and all but it's legs were way way long, longer than Mo was tall. And its wings were roundish and its neck was longlong, like its legs. "Looks silly," she declared, head tilted back to see all the way up the bird.
"Dey silly, like joo." With a grin, she reached over and bopped Oliver's nose affectionately.
