"Hey...remember how we were saying you should take a break? Maybe... Maybe you should do that? Focus on your kids and yourself a little. Eloise could handle Biella couldn't she? Or whoever you want to hand it over to." She passed a gentle hand over Colette's hair. "And you know I would help out."
She welcomed the hug, closing her eyes for a moment as she willed herself to stop crying. "Yeah.. Eloise is able to handle it I think." She shook her head as Ainslie let her go. "You're right." She sighed out as she wiped at her drying tears.
"I need a break." She placed her hands over her cheeks and blew out some air. She smiled gnelty at Ainslie. "You're like my.. knightess in shining.. pants?" She laughed gently. "Always coming to save me from.. me." She smiled.

Ainslie let out a little sigh of relief, happy to hear that Colette was taking the advice. "Good, CoCo. I'm glad. I think this'll give you the time you need." She smiled lop-sidedly, putting her hands to Colette's shoulders bracingly. "Of course Eloise can handle it. She'll be great. And you know me and Vera and even Gwen'll be around to give all the help. And it's not like you're dying or something; you can still pitch in every so often."
Chuckling at the "knightess in shining pants," Ainslie shook her head. "Oh gosh. 'Knightess in shining pants,' huh? I think I should put that on my business card, you know? Ainslie Darling; Professor of Biella, Heir to Darling fortune; Knightess in Shining Pants." It was good to have Colette laughing and joking, even if it was only a little. "Well, you do the same for me enough times, so no worries."

She shook her head, laughing softly at her friends' antics. "Oh gosh, Ains. You're so weird." She smiled, bringing her in for a hug. "Ugh, but I love you, and I'd probably be put in the insane asylum if you ever left."
She took in a deep breath and let her go. "I just want everything the way it once was. Charles beside me. Laura.. happy and here." She gave a slight shrug. "Guess I'll just have to work for it."

"Oh gosh, Ains. You're so weird."
Ainslie scoffed, pretending to be offended. "Excuse me? If I'm weird, you made me that way." She lifted a brow cockily before breaking into giggles.
"Ugh, but I love you, and I'd probably be put in the insane asylum if you ever left."
"I love you too, Colette," Ainslie replied casually, searching through the cabinets for the peanut butter jar. Locating it, she scooped out a fingerful and popped it in her mouth happily. "You would be in the insane asylum. But 'd be right there next to you, trying to figure out how to undo the straight jackets." She grinned at that, clucking her tongue against the roof of her mouth to unstick some peanut butter.
"I just want everything the way it once was. Charles beside me. Laura.. happy and here." She gave a slight shrug. "Guess I'll just have to work for it."
Ainslie frowned softly at that, but nodded. "I know what you mean," she said softly. "I've been keeping an eye out for her; asked my kids to as well..." She let that sentence trail off. She hadn't heard anything about Laura; not yet. She was keeping optimistic. "Yeah, gotta work for what you love..." she murmured vaguely.

"Excuse me? If I'm weird, you made me that way."
She grinned, jutting out a hip and placing her hand on it. "Oh? Yes, cause I made you this way." She rolled her eyes playfully.
"You would be in the insane asylum. But 'd be right there next to you, trying to figure out how to undo the straight jackets."
Colette shook her head, knowing it'd be true too. She'd be right next to her in that padded room. The image made her laugh aloud, shaking her head. "How did we become so weird?" She questioned with a soft smile as she reached in the fridge for a bottled water.
"I've been keeping an eye out for her; asked my kids to as well...Yeah, gotta work for what you love..."
She nodded gently, the scoffed. "What are we doing inside when it's so nice outside?" Her perked a brow at her question. She wondered if Laura was okay. She knew of only one person that had mentioned hanging with Laura at one point in time. Maybe she'd make a trip over to Rosewood on the way home? Have a little talk with Tessa.

"How did we become so weird?"
Ainslie tapped a finger against her chin, as if actually giving it some deep thought. "I think it was probably the booze." She chuckled a little, grinning wide. "Either that, or the large quantities of chocolate." She nodded decisively.
"What are we doing inside when it's so nice outside?"
"Curse of the American culture," Ainslie replied nonchalantly, giving a one-shouldered shrug. "We don't appreciate the outdoors as much as we should." Washing her peanut-buttery hand, she tossed the rest of the food back in its place. "You wanna head out; just wander the yard a bit?" They'd probably run into a few students along the way as well, which would be nice.

"I think it was probably the booze." She chuckled a little, grinning wide. "Either that, or the large quantities of chocolate."
Her brows furrowed as she starred at Ainslie. "Yeah.. either that or it's the job." She smiled, shaking her head as she twisted the top off her water and took a gulp. Never had water tasted so good. "Curse of the American culture," Her head turned, looking at Ainslie as she washed her hands. "Okay.." She chuckled.
"We don't appreciate the outdoors as much as we should. You wanna head out; just wander the yard a bit?"
She grinned, shaking her head at Ainslie's assessment of the american culture. "Yes, lets. Might run into that 'bad boy' of yours." She teased with a smile as she walked over and opened the door for them. "After you, knightess." She teased with a slight curtsy.

"Yes, lets. Might run into that 'bad boy' of yours."
Ainslie giggled at her curtsy and headed out, holding the door open behind her. At the mention of Jude though, she allowed a little groan. "Oh gosh. I don't know what I'm gonna do with that boy." Leveling her eyes to Colette's with a brow raised, she revealed, "He called me 'sweetheart,' you know."
Her barefeet mingled in the sweet grass and she stretched a little. God, it was gorgeous out. She loved this kind of weather. Perfect. "He's gonna bring me so much trouble, I just know it." He was a good enough kid, deep down Ainslie knew. Just...trouble.
She laughed then, rolling her shoulders. "Wasn't any better when I was a teen though, really." She and her brother and sisters had run a little wild, having as much fun as possible.

She laughed softly, shaking her head. "Sounds like a certain someone we both know." She grinned. "He's gonna bring me so much trouble, I just know it." She gave a slight nod, taking her shoes off to let her feet take in the cool grass. "I can imagine."
"Wasn't any better when I was a teen though, really."
She smirked, she could only imagine what Ainslie was like as a teenager. She was probably a even more live wire back then, than she is now. "Mm, only trouble I got into was.. well.." She tried to think. "I blame my parents for not giving me a well rounded outlook." She laughed gently.

"Sounds like a certain someone we both know."
Ainslie laughed heartily at that, nodding. "He's nothign if not a little Dean, that's for sure." She smirked as she mentally compared the too in her mind. "Except I can hit Dean if he ever calls me 'sweetheart.'" She laughed a little at that. "Maybe we should introduce the two of them.... On second though, no! They'd trade notes and both would become even more unbearable." That's all she needed; Jude getting better at being a ladies-man...
"Mm, only trouble I got into was.. well.." She tried to think. "I blame my parents for not giving me a well rounded outlook."
Ainslie chuckled at that, nodding. "When in doubt, blame the parents." Shaking her head, Ainslie rolled her shoulders, happy to have taken the break. It was so nice to get outside and talk with her friend like this. "That's the trouble though, isn't it? Can't shelter your kids too much, but then you can't let 'em run completely wild..." Ainslie just hoped that everything would come easy once she had a kid of her own.

Colette smiled along, nodding in all the right parts as the grass below caught her eye. She kneeled down and laid back, smiling back up at Ainslie. "I don't think Dean is 'unbearable'." She chuckled. "If anything he's just.. a comic reliever when needed." She grinned.
"That's the trouble though, isn't it? Can't shelter your kids too much, but then you can't let 'em run completely wild..."
She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes. "Yeah." It was hard to think that her twelve year old daughter was on New York streets, alone. Had she'd been that bad? Her head shook gently as the cool grass swayed against her arm. "This feels so nice. Just laying here in the grass." She smiled sweetly.
"Haven't done it since I was little." She paused. "Then my mother said to get up, that I was getting dirty."
