It was the simple things in life that Eloise really loved. She loved the big things, too. Loved dramatics and romantics. But she loved the little things that people took for granted more. She loved a sunny day and a good book and her favorite song on the radio. Especially when that song was Kansas' "Carry on My Wayward Son" and even more so when she could be laughing and dancing with her son to the song. Laughing brightly, she took Charlie's hands and spun him around with her. She loved her kid so much. And now he could have a dad..... She pushed Peter to the back of her mind, though. That was still really complicated, she didn't want to think about that yet, really. Emma was going to be over soon, bringing Maura and maybe Oliver with her. But Eloise knew she would understand if she opened the door to Kansas blasting and her dancing carefree with her son.

Finally, a day without rain. It had been pouring the past few days and she couldn't help but take her time as she walked with Maura to Biella (actually, she carried Maura to Biella), taking in the sun and completely agreeing with The Sound of Music. Raindrops on roses were one of her favorite things. The air wasn't thick, and the ground was still wet. But the sun was out! And she had her little girl. They were supposedly arriving at Eloise's room by noon. It was now half past. "Mommy needs to polish her time-management, huh?" she talked absently to her baby, shaking her head at her own silliness and disregard for time. "We're going to see Eloise and her son Charlie," she added for the ump-teenth time that day. She liked seeing Mo smile at the thought of meeting new people. Upon entering the house, she greeted Colette and anyone else she passed (and knew) quickly before spinning Maura up the stairs. "Wanna knock, baby girl? Go 'head."

Maura cuddled close to Momma. She loved when Momma held her. And Daddy. And Uncle Dean... Okay, so Maura just liked being held in general. But she especially liked it when Momma or Daddy held her. And she was with Momma; one of the rare times it was just her and Momma actually. Maura cooed in reaction to Momma's speaking. She bounced excitedly. She didn't really know where they were going but Maura liked going any place, really.
Maura keened happily and waved to the faces she recognized, Aunt Colette and a few others. Once they got to the door, Momma told her she could knock. She got to knock! She pitched forward and patted both hands against the wood happily.

Hearing the knock --sounded more like a slam, really-- Eloise turned to Charlie, wearing an excited face. "Hear that, boy? Think that's Emma and Maura?" She grinned and turned the music down so it was just background, not blasting as it had been.
"Are you gonna come with me to answer, Charzard?" she asked, giving him a light smile as she headed toward the door. She loved that nickname of his; he loved it just as much. "C'mon."

Maura's delight reflected on her own face and she allowed her to bat her hands against the door. "Good job, baby. I'm sure Charlie's running to open the door for you right now!" she gasped with anticipation for her daughter. She'd met with Eloise once or twice before, but this was their first time being together for more than maybe half an hour.

He liked this song, it was funny. And Momma was a funny singer, but he liked when they got to dance together. She was silly. His hair flopped around as they spun in circles, and he shuffled his feet aimlessly, trying to mimick her steps; dance like her. His eyes lit up and he jumped when he heard the abrupt banging on the door. "What's that?" he asked, looking up at his Mommy. He folded his arms when she turned the music down, leaning against the doorway that put the boundary between the kitchen and the living room. Scrunching up his mouth, he shrugged. Who were these people, anyway? Did he want to open the door for them? "Okay, Mommy," he finally gave in, bouncing over to her. Maybe new people would be fun. Maybe they would dance with them! Oh boy! He smiled, holding onto her leg, waiting for her to open the door, reaching for the doorknob. "Who is it?" he called in sing-song.

Maura looked up at her Momma's excited tone. She grinned wide to her and bounced in her arms. Upon hearing Charlie's voice, she hummed happily. Maura had just gotten the hang of her name. And she looooved to say it. "Mooooohhhhhhhhh!" she drawled out as the door opened.
She looked to the people in the doorway. The boy reminded her of Logan and Ollie, just bigger. Well, she liked LoLo and Oliver, so she would probably like Charlie! And the woman was pretty! Not as pretty as her Momma, of course. But still very pretty. And her hair was a fun color! Something she had never seen before. One hand reached forward as she hummed softly.

Eloise smiled down at her son, ruffling his hair. She opened the door with him, grinning to greet their visitors. "Hi Emma," she said. "And Mo! Hiya, Maura." The little girl reached a hand out to her and Eloise immediately laughed. She touched the little girl's palm briefly before waving them inside. "C'mon in. You just missed a super awesome dance party, actually," she revealed.
"Oh, and you remember my Charzard, right?" she added with a soft smile. She looked down at her son and ruffled his hair again. She and Charlie were close; probably since they had only had each other for so long. "D'you remember Emma and Maura, Char?"

Mo? Ooh, Mo! What was a Mo?
He cocked an eyebrow and tilted his head to one side as he watched the little girl in the lady's arms. She was tiny and smiling and reaching for his Mommy. Clinging to her leg again, he looked up at them, watching the interaction. Mommy liked them. "Yeah!" he agreed, spinning around. "Dance party!" He attempted some dance moves, which basically consisted of jumping around and flailing any body part that wasn't in motion already.
Nodding, though he wasn't sure if he remembered them, he put his hands on his waist. "Of course I remember them, Mommy," he sighed, as if it was common knowledge that she knew what he remembered. "I am a good remember-er."

Eloise chuckled at his "dancing." "Good job, babe," she commented as she closed the door behind Emma. She led them into the living room to sit. She rolled her eyes good-naturedly to Charlie and stuck her tongue out playfully. "I know. You're the bestest remember-er that I know." She nodded after this, as if to reinforce her point.
Passing her eyes to Maura, she cooed softly. "She really is gorgeous. Gonna have tons of boys running after her once she's older, huh?" Looking to Emma, she asked, "So, how've you been? Anything new?"
--
Maura cocked her head she watched the boy dance. She remained motionless a moment, studying him intently. Then she began to "dance" herself. Laughing, she clapped her hands excitedly. She liked them! This was fun!

"That's right," he confirmed, pushing his chest out before he was unable to keep the pose any longer and let out a heavy burst of a sigh. Suddenly distracted again, he flew up to Maura, mirroring the movement of her head. Then she started to squeal and bounce around and clap her hands. He jumped back.
"Momma," he started, alarmed, "what's that crazy girl doin'?"
---
Smiling at the mother and son, Emma stepped into the living room, taking the invitation to sit and uprighting Maura on her lap so she could get a good view of everything. Her "dancing" made her laugh and she pushed away the hair that had fallen into Mo's eyes.
"Great," she replied to Eloise. "Good new baby, good job, good husband, good son. Yourself?"

Eloise chuckled and shook her head. "She's just dancing. Like you, silly." She tapped Maura's nose softly. "Very good job, Mo. You're a wonderful dancer."
"Nice." Eloise passed a hand through her hair and sighed. "Me? Wonderful son, great job, awesome new friends, as for the husband... Well, there's a father," she amended, passing a look to Charlie. "But that whole thing is kinda complicated." She grinned softly to assure the other woman that it was nothign serious or bad. Just complex.
--
Maura pouted a little as Charlie moved back. She liked him. She whimpered a little, straining toward him.

Dancing? That looked more like bouncing to him. But maybe that was how babies danced. Unsure, he shrugged, throwing his hands into his hair and letting out a sigh. When the girl reached out to him, making small noises, he contorted his face, not knowing what she wanted from him. "Mommaaaa," he whined, "she's bein' weird."
He pointed to Maura, accidentally leaning forward and touching her nose.
---
Content with her answers, Emma nodded. "Good. I'm glad for you."
((I was starting to make up a post for her until I realized...I had nothing. Sorry.))

Eloise giggled and shook her head at Charlie's reaction. "Excuse him," she said to Emma, still grinning. "She's not being weird, silly," she said. "She just likes you."
As Charlie's finger tapped Maura's nose, though, a smile broke out. She giggled, clapped her hands, and reached out to him again. "Baaaap!" she drawled, mimicking her brother's bit of nose-bopping.
Eloise chuckled at the little girl's actions and then tapped her son's nose as well. "Bop," she giggled out.
