She couldn't take the grey skies and cooling weather anymore. Normally she had an easy solution for that: cuddle inside with all the lights on and some happy chick-flick playing. But she was tired of wandering the same halls and rooms in Biella. She desperately needed a change in scenery. Normally, she would have avoided crowded public places. Too many people, too many thoughts, too many emotions. But she had gotten a lot better of controlling her empathy and telepathy. All the practice was really paying off. And she had always wanted to see the Museum of Natural History. So here she was, enjoying the African mammals display. She was fixated on the lion figures, marvelling at how real they seemed. A hand dipped into her thick blond waves. New York was a pretty cool city.

Dakota was new to this city. It was true, he had been to almost every place he could afford. And this...this was his last restort. A musem was not exactly his idea of fun, but he truthfully had no other plans. Plus, he could use the company of some people. He was alone. His sister had wandered off, and he couldn't keep trace of her. He had no one to hangout with, and no one to tell his secrets to. He was stranded in his own thoughts and this musem wasn't exactly helping. He came across the African mammal display and decided to give it a try. That's when he found something more interesting than any display in this whole building. A girl. She had blone hair and she seemed so interested in what she was looking at... The only way he could get a girl like that is if he mysteriously became smart. He walked up next to her and tried to look focused on the display. He even went so far as to place his finger on his chin. He stood there for a moment. "What do you think?" He asked sounding smart. He turned to her. "I'm Dakota."

She leapt at the sudden intrusion, turning. She meant to speak, say anything, but her voice caught. The man who had interrupted her thoughts was...very, very good-looking. She licked her lips, attempting to recharge her mind. She got herself together quick enough, smiling. "I think it looks real enough to leap out and attack," she joked.
She was a little wary; he had just come out of nowhere. But then again, this was New York City. Back home in Nebraska, everyone had known each other so greetings on the street were common. In New York City it was harder making connections. Besides, the last person who had randomly greeted her was Tyler and that turned out to be the best luck she had had yet.
"Nice to meet you," she replied, keeping her soft smile. "I'm Shaelynne."
