Today was the day. She was going to waltz down into that studio and apply for a job. Her nerves were jumbled as she sat at her desk and applied her make-up. Licking at her lips, she tried to ease her worries.
"Amarie?" She turned around, looking at her roomate with a soft smile. "Will you go with me? I.. I'm just too nervous." She chuckled nervously. She teased her hair, pushing her hair to the side. Up her down? She pulled it up, and then shook her head, letting it fall back down.
"God, why am I so nervous?" She mumbled as she grabbed her necklace and bracelet. She traced over the golden heart with a faint look of pain on her face. He'd given it to her.. and now look at what had come of him.
Dead.
Not that he didn't deserve it. He did. No man, no woman, should ever cheat. It was her main rule of thumb. That, and, a man should never lay his hands on a woman. She needed a change of subject. "So.. uh, you were at Saint and Sinners, yesterday?" She asked softly. "How'd the talk go with Cain?"
She turned around in the chair, facing Amarie as she slipped on her new boots. "I hope it went well. I mean, I'd hate to see you guys not be friends because of all this." She added. Pushing her hair back, she took to her feet, looking in the mirror at herself. "I mean you're going to have to see each other whether you like it or not right? Your Molleigh's parents."
She turned to her then. "How do I look?" She asked, looking down at herself. She crinkled her nose. "Did I go overboard?" She rubbed at her head as she turned to face Molleigh in her playpen. "What do you think Momo?" She giggled, walking over to the girl and bopping her on the nose. "Do I look okay?"

She smiled at Flow, saying softly, "Of course I'll go with you." Flow had been such a good friend to her, it was actually sort of like she had to go. There was so much they had talked about, because really, Flow was the only one she could tell all this stuff to without getting 'you did WHAT?!' explosions back from her. Plus, Flow was an amazing person to be around.
"It's natural to be nervous, but it's all gonna be okay. Don't worry." Amarie said lightly. How many times had she told herself the same thing... only to find out none of it was okay? That it really wasn't going to be all right? She didn't really want to wonder how many times she had been wrong about that. Because Flow was obviously going to get the job--what boss could NOT love Flow? She was a great person. Greater than some...
She squirmed slightly as Flow asked about Cain and their 'talk'. "Uh, well. It didn't go exactly.. the way it was supposed to. I sort of ended up in an argument. A loud one." She looked down. "And, well, he did say something about 'not being able to be friends', but..I..." She shook her head slightly. This shouldn't be such a big deal. "I really don't know." She shrugged, and then looked over at Flow.
"Oh no, I think you look perfect!" she watched Molleigh giggle, and grab at Flow's hair. She liked hair. Especially Flow's--it just seemed to be the prettiest hair she had seen yet. Or maybe it was because she got tired of Amarie's and Sai's hair. Who knew what went on in that little girl's head? "Pa-weeeeetttttyyyyyyy..." squealed Molleigh.

Flow smiled softly, taking a seat next to Amarie on the bed. "Thanks." She said softly. "You're like the best friend anyone could ask for. You know that?" She asked with a wide grin. Despite the situation Amarie was going through, she still managed to be there for Flow when she needed her.
She let out a soft sigh as she nodded. "Right. Natural. Only natural." She tried to convince herself, but the butterflies in her stomach kept circling around, making her stomach do sommersaults over and over again. A cold chill ran up her spin and she shook her body with a slight laugh.
She gave a soft frown to Amarie as she placed a hand on her knee. "People say alot of things when they're mad. I don't think he meant it." She told her gently. "I mean, he loves, or loved you. How could he not still feel that?"
"Really?" She asked, looking down at her outfit. She honestly thought she went a bit overboard. But if Amarie said she looked perfect, then she must look it. She beamed a smile at her. "Thanks." She chuckled at Molleigh. Her mouth opening in surprise as she ran over to the little girl. She crouched down before the playpen and ran a hand over the girl's dark curls. "Why thank you miss molleigh."

"Well, thank you," said Amarie with a smile. "You're not so bad in the friendship department, yourself," she joked. She was pretty serious though--Flow was a great friend of hers, probably the best after she and Emma had had their little... 'break up', so the speak. But it only made sense that she and Flow were friends--they were room mates, and they were... just sort of similar. They could relate to each other. Sort of.
"Well, I guess that could've been it. But I think I was kind of mean to him. More like, really mean to him. I--I think he cried, after I left." Oh yeah, she thought he cried. Because she didn't really want to admit to Flow that she knew he had. She wondered if he had been right--if it even was possible for them to be friends. Not if she kept making him cry, if they kept arguing, if this stressed out both of them.
Molleigh giggled at the look on Flow's face, and repeated--"Pa-wettttttty!" It was a favorite word of hers. She just liked the way it had a 't'. She liked the letter 't'. And she also liked 'r's. it was funny--that little children could take so much in, and appreciate it all.

"Well, thank you," said Amarie with a smile. "You're not so bad in the friendship department, yourself,"
She laughed. "I feel loved." She grinned, leaning over and picking Molleigh up. She spun around, her hair flying around a little as she planted a kiss to the girl's cheek. "Well, I guess that could've been it. But I think I was kind of mean to him. More like, really mean to him. I--I think he cried, after I left." She stopped, looking over to Amarie. "He.. cried?" Her brows furrowed.
"Pa-wettttttty!"
Flow acted shocked and surprised to Molleigh. "No, you're pretty. You precious little thing, you." She giggled, hugging her a moment. "So what do you say, head out and then after I'll buy us all some lunch?"

"Yeah." she paused, looking over to giggling Molleigh; she was getting so old... growing up too quickly... "I think it was because I refused him Molleigh. But him crying..." she sighed, closed her eyes. "I sort of caved. So... now he gets to see Molleigh. I think he's stopping by later today, actually." She let out a small smile. No matter what, she still did love Cain.
"Out! Out! Out!" Molleigh squealed, clinging to Flow. Amarie rather thought Flow had taken the place as what she had thought Emma might be. There was no real 'Aunt Emmie'. It was more.. 'Aunt Flow' now or something. Not that Am minded--although she did hate not seeing Emma as much.
Molleigh held her arms out to Am, and Amarie took her softly from Flow. She kissed the top of Molleigh's head. "Come on, baby girl, let's go." she said, her voice muffled slightly by the soft, springy dark curls on Molleigh's head.

Flow bounced Molleigh on her hip as she looked over at Amarie. "So.. is that a good thing, or a bad thing? I mean you can't honestly change your mind again, that would for sure set him off the deep end." She smiled softly.
"Out! Out! Out!"
Flow chuckled softly, spinning them around once more. "Yeah. We're waitin' on your mommy." Flow told her with a smile. Molleigh suddenly shifted, holding her arms out to Amarie. Flow handed her over without a second thought.
"Come on, baby girl, let's go."
"Now comes the butterflies.. again." Flow mumbled as she opened the door. She looked back at them with a smile. "But.. I can do it. I can do it, I can do this.. right?"
