Well, it was nice to be back teaching, that's for sure. Corona was glad that her students were happy to see her. But life hadn't been all too good lately. She watched as they left the classroom, but she stayed. It was now her prep class and she had nothing to do for at least an hour and a half so, Corona began to hum quietly. After a moment, she got bored.
"Now now Cor, don't get all depressed today." She muttered to herself with a sigh. She was lonely....really lonely. Things had changed. Sighing once more, she opened up a drawer and pulled out her wedding ring. Of course, she wasn't married to Shames anymore but....she liked to look at it. It kind of calmed her.

Sargent was still new to this teaching stuff. But he at least knew that he was supposed to be teaching something. But, on his free/planning period, he decided he might find someone who could help him out a bit. Someone who had at least a bit of experience.
So as soon as the kids had left, he had gone looking for a teacher. Maybe in one of the classrooms? He walked into one, and saw a wan there, someone he assumed to be a teacher. She looked unhappy. He approached her with a small. "Looks like someone needs to board the Happy-Town train," he joked, leaning against the wall near her.

"Looks like someone needs to board the Happy-Town train," Corona sprang up suddenly, knocking over a pencil thing in the process. "What? OH! No! No, no no no....I'm fine, really. Just as peachy as can be." She exclaimed suddenly, her accent thicker than peanut butter. She winced and gathered up all the fallen pencils before walking over to put the case of them away. "Really...I'm fine. I was just thinking, you see. Some people say I look sad when I think and---" She babbled. "Oh god, I'm babbling. So sorry."
She paused suddenly, looking him up and down. Who the heck was this.....well....gorgeous man? Cor licked her plump pink lips and then tipped her head to the side, some of her brown curls falling gracefully with her movement. "W-Wait.....Who are you? A s-student? Um...teacher? Student teacher?" She questioned.

He watched her with a brow raised, contemplating her silently. He tried not to chuckle as she knocked over a pencil thing, spilling the contents. He listened to her speak. An accent. He liked accents, he thought they were cute. He smiled at her explanation.
He didn't believe it. "Mhmm. Whatever you say. I guess you're holding a ring kist because--and that sad expression is because you're just thinking." he chuckled. "Come on. Do you think I'm stupid?" he leaned forward slightly. "Oh, I'm a new teacher. Trying to figure this stuff out. I'm Sarge--and you are?" he stuck out his hand politely. He had to start off polite. First impressions and all, yeah?

Corona winced a bit and furrowed her brow. The way he said his words tended to rub her the wrong way. Quietly, and rather with a grumpy tone, she mumbled, "No. I do not think you're stupid." She then looked away from him. "Honestly, anything I was doing is obviously not your business now, is it?! No, it isn't. And, if you are a new teacher, it would have been proper of you to come in and introduced yourself very first thing instead of shoving your nose in things where it doesn't belong."
She looked at his hand and then turned on a heel, walking over to her chair. "Mrs.....ahem.... Miss Whitman." Cor stated professionally. She couldn't believe she was actually using her maiden name again. It actually made her feel younger, yet it was still hard to get used to. She placed the ring in the drawer and sat at her desk, pretending she was going to write something on papers. "What is it that you needed?"

"Whoah there," he said, holding up his hands as if to show her he didn't mean any harm. It was pretty obvious she didn't want him here. But like it mattered--he didn't care. He was ready to at least say he had made one friend, even if it was a one-sided thing.
"Grumpy much, Miss Whitman?" he grinned. His grin faded as she got all business like. "Just wondering if you could show me around a bit more. Just got here and I'm kinda frazzled and slightly confused. You were the first person I happened upon, so..." he shrugged. He kinda hoped he woulnt kick him out the door and tell him to find someone else to help him. Maybe he shouldn't have disturbed her? But just his luck tht he happened upon te Queen of Grumps.

"Unfortunately, I'm absolutely horrid at directions." She sighed, putting her hand on her chin. Corona sighed and then stood up, walking over to him. "But I suppose I can try." Without even asking, she grabbed his arm and started out of her classroom. While they walked, she remembered that it had been Shames who showed her around the first time. Suddenly, she looked a bit depressed.
Oh well. She have Shames anymore. But at least Lyra was still hers. She loved her precious little girl. Just thinking about her daughter brought a lovely smile to Cor's lips and a soft chuckle. Ly was so silly sometimes......yes she loved her....more than anything right now. Luckily, she got to spend half, if not more time with Lyra daily.

Hmm. So she hadn't Been tht rude to him recently. Maybe she was nit as crabby? Or maybe she just liked him? (most likely not the last one, a she had kind of told him to 'get out', but much more politely). Eiter way, though, he sensed a slight change in her emotions.
He felt her sadness, but then a slight rush of affection. It would be nice to have telepathy, too, he thought. Then he woulnt have to wonder at what made someone feel the way they did. But no. He was stick with Empathy and Precognition.
"Thanks," he said suddenly. Of course, he meant for trying. To show him around. He watched her curls bounce on her back as she walked, and felt slightly mesmerized. She was rather pretty...

She kept her mind open, in hopes he'd think up something. Secretly, she'd like a compliment. Heck. She'd even take an extreme thought of lust. Anything to kinda make her feel....well...special or wanted. Corona heard absolutely nothing though. Her eyes glanced quickly at him before beginning to tell where everything was. Well, everything that she knew of so far.
After a while, they had gotten on the grounds part of campus. It was not sunny, but not not too gloomy either. She kind of knew where she was going. She was actually going to a place where one of the kindly janitors watched Lyra for ten minutes while Shames transferred her to her for the day. "I hope you don't mind, but I must take a small detour to pick up Lyra."

As he followed her around, he mostly kept his thoughts on her. Sure, he was taking in what she was saying and where they were, but his main focal point was her. There was something about the way she moved that he loved. Something about the way she talked--he couldn't get enough of her voice. Something about her made him just want to be around her. So maybe he was a bit attracted. And it didn't help that she was kind of so goddamn beautiful.
His attention was still circulating around her, so he kind of missed the whole 'Lyra' thing. He heard the name, however and was curious. "Who's Lyra?" he asked, wondering if the same little bit of affection he felt her feel when mentioning Lyra was the same that she had felt earlier? Was Lyra someone whi kept her happy? It would seem so.

And thanks to her powers of empathy, she could feel tiny hints of what he felt: attraction. That made her smile a bit and gaze at him. So... maybe he was somewhat....attractive. Corona chuckled and then looked up at him. "Oh...well, she's um...my daughter. She's five...well...almost." She said with a happy face. She then continued walking until she saw Lyra and the Janitor. "Thanks Joe for watching her." She said politely and then picked up Lyra who had already ran over to her.
Lyra grinned and then squealed happily, "Mommy! Look Look! I dwew a picture...of a fwog." She pointed to a picture on paper. Yes, it was somewhat frog like. As in, it was green and had big eyes but that was about it.

He watched her smile, and it made him happy. Something had made her smile. Was it this Lyra? No matter what it had been, he noticed she was much prettier smiling--although she still was pretty when she was sad. Oh? So she had a daughter? Huh. And five years old, too. Sarge kind of drooped. Off limits then, if she were married. Such a lucky man, though.
Ahh, so that was Lyra. He remembered how much he had fucke up with Am's six kidss, and he was determined to do better with Lyra. He loved kids, just sometimes he didn't know how to deal with them. They were different from adults, after all. "Wow, what a nice frog." he said, as if mystified by her drawing. "You plan on being a pro artist web you grow up, Lyra?" he asked, smiling.

Lyra grinned almost immediately, for she knew exactly what he meant. She nodded quickly and then exclaimed, "Yes! And I will lib in a castles....and dwa pictures all day!" She liked this man. Wait....who was this man? She didn't recognize him. Before the girl could ask, Corona chuckled and interrupted. "Lyra...this is Mr...Sargon....um..." She didn't even know this man's last name. She skipped over that and then noticed his expression.
"Oh! It's not what you think, really. I was married....but I'm not anymore because I died and came back to life a while after. And it's all 'Till death may you part' so, that terminated the marriage." She pointed out, and then waved her hand and grinned. "See? No ring. Wait! Not that I'm hinting on anything, just explaining, you know?"

Be liked the smile on Lhras face. She was a beautiful child, and be knew she wild be pretty, if not prettier, than her mother. He grinned at her. "Oh, a castle? Where exactly would thus castle be?" he asked. "is it in Neverland? Or, a more special place called... LyraLand?"
Ge chuckled as she rvled on again "Telepathic, are we?" he asked mischeivously. Of course you weren't hinting at anything, hr yhought, laughing in his head. "Dead?" he asked curiously, l"You don't look dead to me. You look... Rather alive, actually."

"OOH! Neberland!"Lyra said with excitement. She clapped her hands happily and then giggled, "I likes you! Fun Sargey." Cor was glad that Ly liked him, for he seemed like a potential something or other. She tried her best not to seem too telepathic. "No...just goo at reading people's faces." She said simply, disagreeing to what he said.
"Thank you....I think." She said with a small blush. Corona then looked forward. "Well, let's continue our little tour now." She let Lyra down, but held on to the girl's hand as to not lose her. She tried not to gaze at him too many times, but he was handsome after all.

He smiled at Lyra. It was nice to know that at least one kid liked him. And at least he could keep his child-skills with someone. He had sort of failed at Amarie's house. Not that it was just his fault. Sai had been involved too.
"Nice," he said to her response about telepathy. He searched her face slightly. "Yeah, I guess that was a complement," he chuckled. And then he decided to play a game with Lyra. "Hey Lyra! We're kida lost! Do you think you can get us out of here? I know you're a licesnsed explorer. And from Neverland, too!" he grinned.

Corona smiled. Bonus. This guy was good with kids. He didn't seem like the type who would be. He didn't seem like Shames. Dammit Cor, stop thinking about him. Things have changed. Shames you're no longer his type. Apparently, he goes for the needy ones now. Her face looked a bit troubled as she thought.
As for Lyra, she beamed and then pointed around in five different directions. "That way?" She questioned her own sense of direction. She wasn't sure where they were, being she was only just five. But she liked this man. He was cheery. She liked happy people; they made her happy.

There it was again. That sane mix of emotions and a troubled look. If she had been telling ye truth earlier, and she got like that when she was thinking, then this woman had a lot to think about. Poor lady. And she had good reasons to be happy, too; a beautiful daughter, a good job, and trre was no reason to be sad (that he knew of).
Lyra was probably the most beautiful child he had seen. She was so cute. He watched her point in one direction, and decided to humor her. Strolling goofily off in the direction she had indicated, he saud, "Right-o, everyone. Let's head... This-a-way!"

Lyra giggled and then skipped after him while her mother seemed to be in her own little world. She then pointed in another direction and looked up at Sargon with twinkling eyes. She noticed how he seemed to tower over her like some building. Even her own daddy wasn't very tall.
Corona of course followed but not mentally. She was stuck thinking about Shames. After a moment of frustrating expression, she exclaimed randomly, "Bloody hell." Soon after, she realized what she had said and then looked down. "My apologies. I was just....thinking about someone."

Sarge took Lyra's hand as she pointed to a new direction and he started to skip with her. "Are we off to see he Wizard, Lyra? The wonderful Wuzard of Oz?" he chuckled. Kids were fun. He loved kids. He hadn't been aroun any in a while, so his skills were rusty web he went to visit Amarie. Hw messed up then, but now he knew what he was doing. Cute little Lyra.
He looked back at her 'bloody hell' with a curious look on his face. Thinking about someone. Ah. So that was what had been causing her earlier emotions! That same someone. He wondered who it was. "Well, don't be sad about it," he true to console her. "Would you like to join us, Madame?" with a hand, he gestured to him and Lyra, whose skipping had slowed down.
