"Do what to him? Leave?! He doesn't want me here. The only one truly happy to see me is my little girl. Besides, he's not my husband anymore. Till death do we part. And I died so...that bond no longer exists. If it did, I probably wouldn't be so upset, now would I?"
Evan stood there, silent and still as she allowed Corona to vent. Maybe she was right, but she was back wasn't she? That had to mean something.. right? It wasn't like this current situation could just go on forever.
"He obviously fell for you for some reason. And it was obviously a big enough reason for him to forget about me. As for Lyra, maybe you should try to put yourself in her shoes and then her behavior would make sense. Her mother fell off a roof, and she saw it happen,"
Evan's mouth opened-wanting to say something but nothing would come out.
"You're not going to talk to me that way," he said delicately to Corona, holding up a finger. "Because all of that? All of what--drah!--you said? It's a fuckin' lie. I'm tired of hearing that you're not good enough, because if you weren't, I wouldn't have married you. You have to understand that, Corona. I-I'm not perfect. I don't know how to deal with...everything that's coming at me, and I'm sorry if I'm a little--drah!--slow on the uptake. I can't consume everything at once. Please don't be so..."
She swallowed hard, readying her nerves for a fight between them--She couldn't do this--couldn't.. She forced herself to breath calmly as she listened to voices being raised around her. She waved her hand in the air-moving to the side of the yard and bending over.
She couldn't deal with that--too many memories-- She felt sick..

"You came back from the dead!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms into the air and looking to the sky as if it would somehow help him sort this out with her. How did she expect him to understand anything when she came back from the dead? That didn't just happen. Of course he was thankful that she'd suffered, of course he felt bad, but he couldn't just drop Evangeline because of something he hadn't thought would ever happen; because of something that previously hadn't even been possible, let alone probable.
Evan walked away and pitched over, looking queasy. Shames wanted to go to her, but he knew if he left Corona, she would walk away. But if he didn't tend to Evangeline, would she think he didn't care? Caught in between their pulls, he felt himself rip in two.
"I don't know what to do," he breathed out, as if it would console him somehow. He started to walk to E, put a hand to her back--kept Corona where she was standing with his telekinesis. She wasn't going anywhere. "Are you okay?" he asked softly.

Corona wanted to simply move, but Shames kept her there. "You can't do this to me, Shames! I have every right to go. So what?! I came back from the dead. But you can tell I AM here. I'm not going to just suddenly disappear, you know!" She snapped angrily. Eventually, she gave up and sighed. "Honestly.....what do you want me me to stay for?" She asked quietly. "It's obvious. You said so your self. Everything has changed. We can't go back to the way we used to be."

Their words were muffled over as a ringing sounded through her ears. Calm.. you're not there.. He's not here.. She breathed, as she stood there bent over and feeling like she wanted to just get sick and get it over with.
"Are you okay?"
Her eyes opened and she stared at the green grass before lifted her head to look at him. Corona hadn't left--seemed Shames still kept her there. Should I go? "Yeah." She whispered out softly. "Yeah.. I'm okay."
As Corona's voice raised again, Evan clenched, feeling as if she was falling down those stairs, getting kicked or punched--it was like it was happening every time. She hated this-hated feeling so damn weak when it came to a simple raise of the voice.
She took in a sharp breath and stood up, hand to her stomach as she looked between them. She hated these situations--what should she do? What should she say? There certainly wasn't anything useful floating around in her head right now...
"I'm.. sorry--Maybe I should..?--" She pointed to the road. "I mean if you-- I won't go unless--" She closed her eyes with a sigh. Why was this so hard? Why couldn't this just be easy?

So confusing. "You're not going to disappear, yet you want to leave? Can you please pick a side and stick with it so my brain don't explode?" he shouted back at her, withdrawing his telekinesis force, shaking his head at their foolishness. "You're right. You're right, I can't keep you here. I can't keep either of you here, and I can't tell either of you to leave. I give up."
Starting to back away, he held up his hands, as if he had been caught by the cops. "I give--drah!--up. I have a four year old--wah!--daughter to take care of, and a life to get back. So whatever you two want to do, you let me know. I'm done being the enemy."
Turning back with a newfound confidence, he went into the house, leaving the door open.

She sucked in a breath, watching as he went back inside. If he wanted to be left alone, he would have slammed the door. But he didn't. Her brows furrowed, tears in her eyes as her head flew back to look at Corona. She wanted to say so much, but couldn't. Knew it wasn't her place. Instead, she just shook her head.
Turning, she slowly made her way back inside. "Shames?" She called out softly. "I'm sorry, I really am." What could she possibly say?

Corona watched as he walked off. She watched as Evangeline followed him. For once, she closed her eyes and fought back tears as she began to dash off down the street. She felt like just running, running until her legs give out from exhaustion. Whenever that would happen, she scream; just lean her neck back and scream her heart out until she couldn't scream anymore. Corona felt so many emotions all at the same time that she couldn't stand it. Hatred, sadness, confusion...the list went on and on.
But after she got near the busier part of places, she sat down on a bench and bit her lip hard to keep from crying. She wasn't going to cry over this; she wasn't going to surrender to their abuse. Some of her even wished that someone would just come up and kill her. "Would that make them feel sorry?" She wondered out loud, choking back tears. No, she knew she couldn't have that happen. After all, Lyra still needed her. Shames might have moved on, but Lyra was her daughter. She had to be there, if not for Shames then for Lyra. Yes...for Lyra.
Even then, she wasn't going back there any time soon. Cor couldn't go up to him again. Besides, maybe if she was lucky, her sudden disappearance would worry him. Maybe he'd even go looking for her, afraid that she might do something dangerous. If not, she'd eventually talk to him at Rosewood. Standing up, she sighed and continued walking down the street, eyes on the ground.
