She scratched at her head, ruffling her hair as her glasses slid down to the tip of her nose. She pushed them back up, stiffling a yawn as she continued to read the book that laid in her hands. Stephen King's Misery was a best seller, and one of her favorites. Especially on a night like this.
Lightening lit the sky, sending a glow into her room. Her heart leaping in her chest as thunder followed suit. She laughed softly, placing a hand over her heart. "I think that's a sign to stop for the night." She yawned, grabbing the book-marker on the side table and placing it on the page before closing the book.
Curling up on her right side, she grabbed Charles's pillow and hugged it tight as her eyes dropped. It didn't take long at all to fall asleep...
Pure darkness. Her eyes took a moment to adjust before she could make anything out. There was a glow coming from... all around her. She looked around, screaming as she noticed she was stuck on a rock. The glow on which she noticed earlier was red hot lava.
It boiled and bubbled, touching the rock just slightly. She had the sinking feeling that this tiny rock which she was stranded on would not last long at all. "HELP!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
But there was no help.
A malicious cackle sounded through the area, and chills ran up her spin as a shadow emerged just before her. It wasn't a human being, nor mutant. It was completely... made of shadow.
Colette shook, getting ready to step back as the shadow moved closer to her. "Seals..... must.... break....." It's hand reached out, grabbing Colette by her throat....
She screamed, sitting up in her bed, soaked in sweat. She placed a hand over her mouth, another on her neck. It felt so real.... Tears slipped down her face, and all she wanted was Charles near her.
Slowly, she laid back down, her head laying on his pillow as she curled into a tight ball, crying herself back to sleep....
