detailed personality, I'm pretty talkative, first and foremost. I sometimes babble or I'll speak my thoughts out loud on accident. It's a horrible characteristic, but it's part of my life, unfortunately. I'm used to getting what I want, so if I don't, I tend to get pretty pissed off. Not like I get pissed off too much, anyways. Despite this, though, I'm usually pretty nice. I try to not use my powers on people unnecessarily, but I still have to hone my abilities a bit more. My goal is to get it all under control, so much so, that I can turn everything on and off. It make my life a hell of a lot easier. I'd rather help than hinder, anyways.
I have a pretty intense passion for reading, writing, music and photography. In fact, many times I have gotten in trouble because I didn't do something I was supposed to because I was reading something. But whatever, it doesn't bother me. Fighting is something I dislike intensely, and if anyone tries to start crap with me, I'll do everything I can to send them on their little merry way. This isn't to be taken as I haven't ever fought before. In fact, I'm pretty good at fighting if I do say so myself. Plus, my powers allow me a lot more ability than say, an average human would have. Hmmm, I'm a horrible hopeless romantic. Though, not to say that I wouldn't date around. My empathy and phasing powers, though, get in the way...I feel like I'm influencing them to do something, or if I try to be physical, I might slip right through them. Despite this, though, I'm a huge flirt. I rush into things, but don't mistaken that for being easy. Because I'm not.
I'm the type of female, though, that likes to go out to parties. I don't drink, but by the gods, you will be seeing me on the dance floor. Hmm, what else? I like to use my power to ease people's suffering, too. If I tell them there isn't any pain, they won't feel it, and thus don't have to suffer. I wish I could do more, like healing and what not, but I can't. [/size]

detailed history, Gather round, kiddies. Mama Skyler has a story to tell you. One day a pretty lady butterfly set out to explore the world. Hearing music, from a far away land, she traveled great distances to find it. A young male butterfly was singing, his song unlike any the pretty lady butterfly had ever heard. She feel in love with him, and they eventually had a baby caterpillar. This baby caterpillar got whatever she desired, somehow having a power over her parents.The baby caterpillar's mommy and daddy didn't know why they did what they did, but it felt right to them most of the time.
In her teenage years, the baby caterpillar got a bit aggressive. Whether she actually fought with others, or if she used her 'power' it always resulted in someone other than her getting teensy-bit hurt.When he father told her to stop seeing someone, her power took over, influencing her father's feeling drastically. The baby caterpillar had been feeling suicidal and the person she had been seeing had kept the feelings at bay. The next morning, she was awoken by her mother's crying. Her father had, apparently, killed himself. After that, the baby caterpillar, whose name is Skyler, shut herself in her room. In fact, this little caterpillar wasn't a caterpillar. Skyler, the caterpillar, is actually Skyler, the stupid freak who killed her father..
Because of what I am, my father is now dead. If I had been more careful, he would still be here today. I left my mother, who, in her grief began going insane. I couldn't stand how much pain I made her feel, because I too, felt her pain.What else should I tell you? I don't have any siblings, which I'm glad for. And well, I suppose that's all folks. There's not really much more to tell about myself. I've always gotten my way, and I'm a bit controlling. I'm not a total bitch though, contrary to popular belief. Also, I suppose I have to explain my powers, eh? Well, my most power one is empathy. I have it down pretty well, and I've been known to be able to easily affect people's emotions/feelings...as you saw with the story of my father. My shapeshifting is pretty good, too. It's the one I'm more prone to practice. The shield that I have, though, is horribly faulty. I'll get it eventually, though. Just gotta hone it, you know? Oh, oh, oh! roleplay sample, A dark pathway lay ahead of her, a hazy yellow light floating at what seemed like the end of the 'tunnel'. In it's own way, in a language only she felt she could understand, it called to her. Told her to run, told her to frolic, just as long as she got to the light. Taking her time, she waltzed down the corridor, heels clicking. ' When did I get heels?' Cadence though absently, running a hand across the dark stone as she continued towards the light. Every now and then she would stop, just to see how the song the light was singing would change. If she stopped, it became urgent and if she tried to turn away, it became more forceful. As if it was an entity of its own, wisps of smoky light crawled towards her.
Once she was close enough, they enveloped her body. Some sort of past, then, hit her hard. Something she had never seen before lay before her eyes. Instead of watching the scene, she was seeing through it. The house was dark, the light once again a hazy yellow. A sudden shift in movement and then pain coursed through the body she was in. Her eyesight faded, and she was plunged into a silvery lake, the moonlight reflecting on the surface. Gentle waves continuously broke the image of the full moon. Even the stars happily danced in the lake's mirror. With a sudden rush, Cadence was pulled under the water until she woke up in her bed.
Outside, the light was quickly fading. "Perfect time for a walk...[/color]" She mumbled, tired as all hell. Groggily pushing her dark hair out of her line of vision, she grabbed her Shakespeare play booklet, Macbeth, before heading out of the door. Her hair, though not entirely standing on end, was in a bit of disarray. Not like she honestly cared. Cadence pushed up her glasses and opened her book as she began her nightly walk.
Luckily for her, Cadence had just finally mastered walking and reading at the same time. Despite a somewhat steady flow of people, she never hit one of them—or anything. It took just the right amount of skill to be able to do this. Looking away from a line, Cadence noted that the moon looked like her moon in her dreams. The same dream always happened every single night, yet she couldn't decode it, no matter what angle she tried to chip at.
Eventually, though, Cadence began to get into the play, and turned down an alley she often used as a shortcut home. Throwing her hands up, as she walked, she began to read the play, closing her eyes.
"To The Last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hou—[/b]"
Within seconds of colliding with something hard, she was lying on her back, holding her head. "Aww shit. And here I was thinking I was doing a good job. Blast it! My freaking head![/color]" Curling in on herself, she held the back of her head as a small trickle of blood came out. Looking up, glasses askew, Cadence noticed that she had bumped into a person. "Oh dang. I'm so sorry! Guess I should stop doing that...seeing as I haven't mastered it as well as I thought...Are you alright?[/color]"
Cadence looked up, unable to properly discern the features of the person. The build, though, was distinctly male. 'Aww, hell, what if it's some creeper?[/color]' Cadence scrambled up, feeling a bit light-headed and searched around for her book.
