Finally, he managed to find a sitter willing enough to take care of the Kohana bunch. He needed a day to himself, to let it all out. Sai had never had the guts to let his own kids see him so...depressed. He had thought he was getting better. He thought that he was finally over with Amarie's sudden leave. But it still hurt him....more than he ever expected it to. To make things worse, he had to take more and more shifts in to make enough money to keep the house. Overall, Saikoro was just taking more than he could manage.
But standing there on the bridge, was something close to perfect to him. It was away from the city, and all he could hear was the wind and the passing cars. Sai stared down at the water. "I got to get another job.....or four. But then the kids....and who will watch them....what am I going to do?"He muttered to himself, elbows now leaning on the railing as he ran his hand through his hair. "Amarie.....Amarie is gone...and I can't keep doing this alone."

Let it beAngels were singing an earthly song by the Beatles. Humming along softly, she ran a hand over the well of holy water in front of her. As the water rippled through, he came into sight. A soft and slow smile came to her lips as she looked down on him. Saikoro... Her heart felt heavy as she saw the look of despair on his face.
"I got to get another job.....or four. But then the kids....and who will watch them....what am I going to do?"
A hand flew to her chest, and landed over her heart. Closing her eyes, she wished she could erase his pain. She wished she could help him. But, you can't. Instinctively, she looked around, making sure no one was around to overhear her thoughts.
"Amarie.....Amarie is gone...and I can't keep doing this alone."
Her jaw set, as that name left his lips. Amarie. Rosalie shook her head, sighing heavily. How could a woman leave behind a man as good as Saikoro? How could anyone abandon their children? Her heart felt heavy, and as she opened her eyes, they quickly widened.
She was on Earth. "Oh no..." She whispered softly, silently cursing her heart's hold on her powers.

It took him by surprise but he suddenly felt like someone might be watching him. Saikoro whirled around to see a wide-eyed woman standing there. He felt as though he had been hit by a train with a strong sensation of mystery slapped him in the face. Why did he......who was she?
The look of remorse turned to one of confusion, but friendly enough. Sai took a little step towards her. "I-I'm sorry, but can I help you? Are you lost...or did you need something?" He said hesitantly looking her over. She looked like she had been out dancing or something, too fancy to just be walking alone on the bridge. Maybe she was a celebrity? He shook the thought. If she was a celebrity, she probably wouldn't be walking the bridge.
Then a thought hit him and he panicked. What if she didn't speak english? What if she was scared, alone, and lost in New York and didn't speak a bit of english? "Can you...hear me? Or even understand me?"

"I-I'm sorry, but can I help you? Are you lost...or did you need something?"
Her eyes remained wide, as she starred at him. How could I have done this? She questioned herself. There are rules, Rosalie... She let out a heavy sigh, eyes closing as she looked down at the cement.
"Can you...hear me? Or even understand me?"
If you continue to stand here and say nothing, maybe he'll leave. She told herself. But, then again... She had waited a long time for this moment. "Yes," She spoke so softly, she wasn't sure if he had even heard her.
Clearing her throat, she took a step closer. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..."

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..."
"Didn't mean to what? Really, it's alright. Did you need some help? You look a little...well...lost." Saikoro replied, taking another look at her strange choice of clothing. It was then that a light-bulb idea popped into his mind. He grinned a bit, stepping to her."I know you. Aren't you one of Amarie's friends from school? Uh.....Rachael, wasn't it?" His voice sounded far more pleased.
Saikoro held out his gloved hand out of manners. "I'm not sure you remember me. I'm Saikoro, her....husband. Well, I guess it's more like ex-husband but it's still great to see a familiar face."It was nice that he had a smile upon his face."So....what are you doing back in NY? Amarie told me you were moving....back to....uh...South Dakota, I think."

"Didn't mean to what? Really, it's alright. Did you need some help? You look a little...well...lost."
"To interrupt," She replied lowly. Slowly, she shook her head. She knew she was here on Earth, and in New York. By the look of the bridge they were standing on, she'd guess they were in Manhattan. "No, not lost."
"I know you. Aren't you one of Amarie's friends from school? Uh.....Rachael, wasn't it?"
"Rosalie," She smiled. She knew it was wrong to lie, but talking to him like this was nice. It wasn't like it usually was, with her watching from afar. To be able to see the lines in his face when he smiled, was something she truly cherished.
"I'm not sure you remember me. I'm Saikoro, her....husband. Well, I guess it's more like ex-husband but it's still great to see a familiar face."
But, you have met her. She reminded herself. "Of course, Saikoro. Hello," She smiled softly at him. "Ex-husband?" She questioned lightly. "Does that mean--Oh, I'm sorry to hear that..."
"So....what are you doing back in NY? Amarie told me you were moving....back to....uh...South Dakota, I think."
She looked around, taking in the sight and smell that was New York. "I don't...." It wasn't like she could come right out and tell him the truth, could she? "I just wanted to..." She trailed off, her head lowering.

"Rosalie," Right, Rosalie. That sounded far more correct than Rachael. Saikoro pondered the name, how it seemed to flow in his mind. He liked it. It was nice. Though her words that followed caused him to sigh and nod. "Yeah....Amarie....well she left me and the kids a while back. I haven't really heard much from her. I don't even know where she might be. She just said she had a better life somewhere...or something like that. It's okay though....we're.....getting along pretty fine."
That was a lie. But he didn't want to trouble her with the truth. The truth of how he struggled to pay the bills, pay for school, food, and everything else and still keep a watchful eye on his children. Not to mention, he hadn't gotten a decent bit of sleep for more than a week. Most of the time, he got a few ten minute naps now and then; but little more than that.
"I don't...""I just wanted to..."
Something seemed up. Rosalie seemed nervous and he leaned closer since he was well taller than her. "Hey, Rosalie....is everything alright? I mean I heard about....why you decided to leave...and all....and if anything is up, it's really okay. I'd be glad to help." Saikoro spoke with a sincere voice before he looked at his watch for a moment. "Where are you staying? Is it close? I could walk you there if you need some company. I have a good few hours before I have to get back. You know, relieve the poor sitter of her sitting duties."

She starred at him as he talked, it was the only thing she could do. Her eyes drifted over him, head to toe, and back again. His skin seems paler than usual... She thought silently to herself. "... It's okay though....we're.....getting along pretty fine."
"Please, Saikoro... don't lie." She whispered softly. "It's okay to hurt, to let the pain show. You did... love her... after all." She said with a faint smile.
"Hey, Rosalie....is everything alright? I mean I heard about....why you decided to leave...and all....and if anything is up, it's really okay. I'd be glad to help."
Instantly, her head shot up, and her eyes widened. "What did she tell you?" Her voice was no longer weak nor fragile. She had only met Amarie a hand full of times. Not to mention, she was positive it was Cain who had told Amarie she was in fact an Angel.
"Where are you staying? Is it close? I could walk you there if you need some company. I have a good few hours before I have to get back. You know, relieve the poor sitter of her sitting duties."
Rosalie's brows furrowed as she took another look around. "I don't..." She sighed softly. "I don't have anywhere to go..." True, if she knew what was best, she'd port herself right back to where she'd come from. But... I just met him... finally met him. She thought as she looked down at her shoes. I don't want to leave... not yet...

"It's okay to hurt, to let the pain show. You did... love her... after all."
Saikoro's eyes softened a bit upon hers. He wanted to hug her for saying that. But the thought was interrupted by Rosalie's next words. What did she tell him? God, Sai barely remembered. "Something...about you running from a relative....or....ex.....or something. Just that you were pretty shaken up about everything and all that. I mean, I'm here for you....if you need anything."
"I don't....I don't have anywhere to go..."
Being Saikoro, he couldn't just pass up that opportunity to make a good friendship with someone again. Besides, Rosalie was nice-looking and seemed like a friendly person; maybe it was worth a relationship. Maybe it was time to move on from Amarie and this was a god-sent prayer?
"You can stay with us! Really, it's no trouble.....well...as long as you don't mind kids, and a very enthusiastic big dog. My home is your home. Until you find somewhere...or something." He replied with a eager smile. Hopefully, the kids like her. Sai thought, just hoping they did.

He was starring at her, and it wasn't like before. His eyes held such softness, and she could truly see the pain. It was written all over his face, the sleepless nights, the tears he'd cried, and the prays that just seemed to go unanswered. She truly felt for him.
"Something...about you running from a relative....or....ex.....or something. Just that you were pretty shaken up about everything and all that. I mean, I'm here for you....if you need anything."
So she hadn't... Sighing a sigh of relief, she smiled sweetly up at him. "Something like that." She paused, taking his offer into consideration. "That's sweet," She replied softly. "But, honestly this very moment, I'm content." She nodded. Because I finally met you... Saikoro Kohana..
"You can stay with us! Really, it's no trouble.....well...as long as you don't mind kids, and a very enthusiastic big dog. My home is your home. Until you find somewhere...or something."
Her eyes widened at the sudden offer. "Oh, I couldn't.." She paused. "I love kids, but you hardly know me..." She sighed softly. Just say yes. "But," She paused once more. "If you truly are offering out of the pure kindness in your heart... then yes, I would love to."

"If you truly are offering out of the pure kindness in your heart... then yes, I would love to."
Saikoro smiled then. It was the kind of smile that he hadn't smiled since before Amarie left. "Great! And it's not very far from here either. I'm glad you love kids, cause usually....people find six an overwhelming number...I guess, seven if you count Bernie." Putting his hands in his pocket, he gestured them into a walking motion. "Oh! Bernie's our Saint Bernard.....but he's practically harmless. Then there's Adaline, Shea, & Molleigh....and then the triplets, Soren, Sparrow, & Sonny. And that's the whole Kohana gang right there."
It was easy for anyone to see how much he loved his kids. They were practically the only reason he hadn't killed himself a long time ago.
"I'm guessing....you don't have any kids then, huh?"

He was talking so much, and so fast, it was hard to keep up. She smiled, listening as he went on about his kids as they walked. It was clear that he loved his kids to death. It was evident in his voice, and the way his face lit up with each and every name. "Wait, wait, wait." She laughed softly. "Let me see if I got this. First there's Adaline, Shae, and Molleigh. The triplets, Soren, Sparrow, and Sonny, and of course Bernie the Saint Bernard. Right?" She asked, beaming a smile up at him.
"I'm guessing....you don't have any kids then, huh?"
She shook her head slowly, looking down at the sidewalk. "No." She answered easily. "I suppose you could say, I never got the chance." It was true, she had died at a very young age, and for angels, aging took a millennia. "I've always loved them though, and animals too." She laughed softly.
"It must be hard," She spoke after a moment of silence. "I can only imagine, the confusion of all of them. Wondering what happened and where she went?"

Saikoro was glad she managed to remember them all. He nodded in reply, quite pleased with a smile upon his face still. "Right! Adaline was adopted off the street by me, and me and Amarie adopted Shae. Of course you know Molleigh was Am & Cain's girl, and then the triplets are mine & Am's."
"I can only imagine, the confusion of all of them. Wondering what happened and where she went?"
The smile drifted from his lips and he looked down to the ground in shame. "I........I haven't told them.....yet. I mean....I told them that their mom is on a trip....and then I write letters to each of them, as if Amarie wrote them. I just.....I don't know how to tell them, she's not coming back." He explained, then released a dry laugh as he continued. "Addy has caught on though....and she's always asking when she's going to get a new mom. It's cute, I guess."

Her smile quickly disappeared, and she looked at him with saddened eyes. "I can only imagine your difficulty, but don't you think lying to them will only worsen the pain?" She asked with a gentle voice. She hated seeing him look sad. With a face as handsome as yours, it should always be smiling.

"I can only imagine your difficulty, but don't you think lying to them will only worsen the pain?"
His eyes widened as it hit him like a train. Was Rosalie right? How? How can I possibly tell them? How can I.... Sai bit his lip hard, pondering her words for a moment. It was silent, all but the sound of passing cars and wind. Finally, he let out a deep breath and spoke, "I guess...I figured....that she might come back, eventually....that it might go back to the way things were. So the lies....are really just to keep my hopes up. I just keep hoping that she might come back. I can't come to grips that our marriage might have been nothing. I already lost a son....and got him back, and maybe, just maybe, I'll get her back too. I don't know how to move on, Rosalie."

It was silent, she was beginning to think she had said something wrong. Something that upset him. Great. Good going, Rosa. You finally meet the man you've been longing for, only to screw things up majorly!
"I guess...I figured....that she might come back, eventually....that it might go back to the way things were. So the lies....are really just to keep my hopes up. I just keep hoping that she might come back. I can't come to grips that our marriage might have been nothing. I already lost a son....and got him back, and maybe, just maybe, I'll get her back too. I don't know how to move on, Rosalie."
Every word, made her heart ache for him. "Oh... Sai." She frowned deeply, as she looked at him. Truly, looked at him. She could see everything that he was trying to hide. She could see the pain was leaving scars, and to her... that needed to end.
"I'm so sorry..." She breathed out as she stopped dead in her tracks. II've never... For once in her life, she allowed her thoughts to cease, and allowed her emotions to take hold. In one swift movement, she was hugging him. Her arms wrapped around his waist, and her right ear pressed to his chest. So hard in fact, she could hear his heart beating clear as day.

The way she spoke to him, just that tone; it felt as though she really cared about him. As if, she knew him, more than he knew himself. Saikoro opened his mouth to speak but then found her body pressed close to his. It was at that moment that his walls seemed to crumble down and he let go of that emotional shield. His arms wrapped around her petite form and he hugged her tightly in reply.
Sai wanted to thank her. This hug was what he had needed in a long time. And for once, it was from someone who hadn't hurt him once before. But at that same moment, Saikoro sensed something within her. It was an emotion he knew well, and yet, he barely even knew Rosalie. But he felt it; and it was extremely overwhelming.
I'm letting this woman stay in my house............I must be crazy.....I don't even really know her. And what she's feeling for me is stronger than anything I've ever felt since.......no....it's impossible. His thoughts kept running in circles. And finally, he pulled back a bit. "Thanks.....I.....I guess I needed that. But.....I'm curious, why does it feel like you know me better than I do? Like you're some guardian angel or something. I know, silly, right? I mean, you're clearly not dead, cause you just hugged me and dead people can't hug but.....really....I feel like, you know me, and I barely know you."

It was a sensation she felt a hundred times before. Her eyes closed, and she could feel his arms around her. She prayed that her insight wasn't kicking in. She didn't want to see bad things happen to people anymore. She didn't--W-what? It was like a nightmare, the faces she saw. Blood was all around her, so much so, she could smell it. It's... so.... She willed herself to stop, but the images kept coming. One after another, it was like getting hit with a brick wall. She could feel their pain, and amidst all of the blood, screams, and pain. There was one person who stood among them all.
Saikoro... Tears quickly formed in her eyes, and she felt him pull back, and it was only then that the visions stopped.
He... but how? Her brows knitted together in confusion as she slowly looked up at him. "I... I think it's time you know," She replied softly. "I don't know how to even... Where to begin, I guess..." She paused, looking down at her feet.
Taking in a sharp breath, she finally let it all out at once. "I'm an angel. I've been looking over you, for some time now... and I... well, I wanted to meet you so badly I guess I just... teleported here." Looking up, her eyes full of tears, she had to ask. "Doesn't it haunt you? The screams? All the pain...." She shook her head as a tear fell. "The pain..."

"I'm an angel. I've been looking over you, for some time now... and I... well, I wanted to meet you so badly I guess I just... teleported here."
At first, he started to smile as if about to laugh, but it faded. Rosalie was serious. She was actually.....an Angel? Saikoro looked quite heartbroken suddenly. His face paled and his frown deepened. "Oh........so.......you don't.........you're not.......you're not really, here...then." He bit his lip, thinking over this whole concept when she spoke up again.
"Doesn't it haunt you? The screams? All the pain...."
Sai's eyes turned dark and they narrowed upon her. Gears in his gloved hand began to churr loudly as it formed into a tight fist. How could she ask him something like that? He turned away from her, and scoffed, "Of course it does. But I ignore it. I have to ignore it. He can't control me anymore.......I'm not his death puppet anymore."
Suddenly, his head tilted and he eyed her suspiciously. "Is this some joke? Are you like undercover social services? Or did you really want to meet me? No one wants to meet me. Why you?" Sai shook his head. "I thought....I thought you were some godsent prayer or something. But I guess it was silly. I mean....I barely even know you."

"Oh........so.......you don't.........you're not.......you're not really, here...then."
"How can you say that?" She asked, looking up at him. "I hugged you, didn't you feel me? I have flesh, and blood. Just like you." Sure, she was an angel. Sure, her job sucked. But never had anyone told her she wasn't real.
"Of course it does. But I ignore it. I have to ignore it. He can't control me anymore.......I'm not his death puppet anymore."
Just then, the way he looked at her. It made her feel small, and nonexistent. She knew all she had to do was reach out and touch him, and she'd know everything there was to know about this man. But, she also knew that wasn't right. Life was about connections, not powers. "Who?"
"Is this some joke? Are you like undercover social services? Or did you really want to meet me? No one wants to meet me. Why you?" Sai shook his head. "I thought....I thought you were some godsent prayer or something. But I guess it was silly. I mean....I barely even know you."
"I know that..." She whispered, as she fiddled with her thumbs. "I mean, I've watched over you... all these years, and you don't even know me. I know that's weird, and in most cases, stalker-like. But Sai..." She sighed, finally locking eyes with him.
"I would never harm you, or your family. And yes, I really did want to meet you. Because I know your a good man. A good husband, friend and father. Even after everything you've been through... I'd figure you of all people would understand..." She sighed.
"I mean, Cain is your friend after all, and he's an angel."
