Here she was. Standing right in front of the fountain where Colette said to meet. Adyson was early of course. Not ridicously early, but at most 30 minutes early. One; she liked to be on time, and two; she left the kids at home with Emily an hour ago and was trying not to worry her head off. Taking a deep breath she dug into her clutch grabbing her phone and a few coins.
Checking her phone she finally told herself that the kids were okay, and that Emily had perfect control over the situation. They were small and both had horrible histories, but Emily could babysit without any problems...right? She shook the thought of course she could. Slipping her phone into her pocket she looked at her handful of change.
Looking at the fountain she realized how dumb it was to throw your coins in it. How could tossing a penny or nickel into a fountain really make your wish come true? There was no real logic behind it, but of course she found herself closing her eyes. Grabbing a coin she thought about her first wish. I wish that I will be a good mother to my two new children. She threw the coin in. Her eyes still closed she picked up the next coin.
I wish that I will not be alone for the rest of my life...sure I have Col and Em...but I need a man. She sighed and threw that coin in as well. Opening her eyes she shook her head. How silly did she look, a grown woman, standing in front of a fountain making wishes? A laugh escaped her lips a she turned around to search for Colette or Emma in the crowds.

Girls' Day OutThree kids. How the hell was she going to handle three kids? Counting on her fingers how many age lines she'd have by thirty, Emma sauntered through the goliath mall, searching for the fountain where she'd met with friends on numerous occasions during her adolescence. The twenty-four year old (the thought made her head spin; Oliver was six now, and Maura was two) felt a blur come over the rigid sea of head tops and shopping bags and brand logos. Today was supposed to put her mind at ease: to get away from the stressful daily life of dealing with her family and have a relaxing girls' day out with Colette and Adyson, two friends she hadn't seen in weeks. While she was at peace in respect to Cian's brain finally functioning like normal and her family in no imminent danger from un-dead demon spirits, for some reason she could not shake the feeling of apprehension.
Searching through her subconscious, Emma soon discovered a kink in her Empathy. It was locked on to a woman, probably around the same age as her or younger, who was jittery and nervous--embarrassed, even. Going toward the feeling, curious and knowing that she was early anyway, she inadvertently spotted the very fountain she was supposed to see her friends. Near it was Adyson, standing bashfully with her elbows in tight and knees hyperflexed. "Adyson!" she called out with a grin going over and giving her friend a warm embrace. "Sorry I'm late; I get lost in this place," she added, though she knew she had arrived prematurely. Adyson had a thing about being extremely early. "Colette's not here yet?" she inquired dumbly, since the answer was obvious.
Disregarding her momentary mental lapse, she pressed, "How have you been? I feel like the last time I saw you was when dinosaurs roamed the earth." Escaping from the tensions of a tight laugh, she looked around one last time, hoping that Colette was drawing closer.

I love this, I love us.Sitting in the car, her hands tapping on the steering wheel, she sighed. Laura had made her late, complaining about being home, when she could be out with Sawyer. Good grief, she was too young for a boyfriend just yet. Scratching at her temple, she pulled into the parking lot of the mall and turned off the engine.
Dean had agreed to take the twins for the day, and Tyler had agreed to hang with Laura until Colette came home. Shaking her head, trying to let her family problems go, Malcom came to mind. A soft smile came to her lips as she pushed herself out of the car, locking the doors behind her. She wasn't sure where they were at... or even if they were in a relationship (even if she did hope they were). She wasn't the one to pressure anyone. Not about anything this serious. For crying out loud, she had three kids! How could she ask a man as sweet as Mal to step up to the plate?
Rubbing at the back of her neck, she pulled her purse over her shoulder and started heading for the fountain at which she told Adyson and Emma she'd meet them. God only knew how long it'd been since she'd seen Adyson, and the last time she saw Emma, was when she decided to become a professor. And, Colette did have to admit, she made a perfect one. Keeping up with all the paperwork, and everything wasn't easy. But man, did Emma make it look that way. Adyson was the same, matter of fact. But, she was sure it was going to get a little rough for her now that she had two kids to take care of.
And it was then, that a wave of worry crashed over her. Brows furrowed, she knew her Empathy had locked onto someone. Shaking it off, she continued on. She didn't have time, she was already late. Seeing a set of brown curls, and light brown hair, Colette smirked. "Hey you two." She smiled, walking closer behind them. "Sorry I'm late. Laura, I swear... sometimes I just want to kill her." She joked softly, giving Adyson a soft smile. "How's the kids?" Her eyes then flicked to Emma. "Along with yours as well. Might as well get this little bit out of the way so we can just stop worrying and start shopping." She chuckled.

"Adyson!"
A smile climbed across Adyson's face as soon as she saw those bouncy brown curls. "Emma!" they exchanged a warm ambrace, and all those embarassed thoughts rushed away. Still the thoughts of Aurelia and Xander stuck to the back of her mind as the two talked. "Sorry I'm late; I get lost in this place," she added, though she knew she had arrived prematurely. Adyson had a thing about being extremely early. "Colette's not here yet?"
She lshook her head and laughed. "You know damn well you aren't late. Shaking her head. "No, but you know Co-lee. I'm the early one, and she's the late one." Even as she spoke thought she looked up to search for Colette in the crowd. Not seeing her right away she focused her attention back on Emma as she asked her a question.
"How have you been? I feel like the last time I saw you was when dinosaurs roamed the earth."
She felt like her friend could tell that things were rought right now. Her heart sunk. Emma was about to have three kids of her own, and Colette already did, but they seemed so together. So controlled. And yet Adyson adopted two childrem and was having such a hard time. She shook all those feelings and answered her friend, glad she had a friend to talk to. She didn't know where she would be if she didn't have Colette and Emma. She needed today. "I'm holding it together by a thread. How do you do it Emma? Raise kids so easily? It's so hard to me...
Taking a deep breath and letting her smile return. "And as far as not seeing you in forever we are going to change that. I can't live without my girls" Just as she said that Colette came walking up. "Hey you two." She smiled, walking closer behind them. "Sorry I'm late. Laura, I swear... sometimes I just want to kill her."
Adyson smiled. "Col, its the boyfriend I'm telling you. Once they get a boyfriend its like the authority flies out the window." She giggled. "Atleast thats how you were? Remember.." She gave her friend a wink before wrapping her up in a hug. Just as they pulled away Colette asked her about the kids.
"They are wonderful. I'm the one that's falling apart." She laughed, but she knew the seriousness in her eyes was apparent. The she turned to Emma. "Along with yours as well. Might as well get this little bit out of the way so we can just stop worrying and start shopping." She chuckled. She felt so happy to finally have her friends together. They were definently in for a day of letting loose. They all needed it.

"I'm holding it together by a thread. How do you do it Emma? Raise kids so easily? It's so hard to me...
"Easily?" echoed Emma with an incredulous grin, her eyebrows lifting. "What book are you reading that says motherhood is easy? 'Cause I want it." Shaking her head, thinking of her children (when wasn't she thinking of them was the better phrase), she added, "I'm lucky to have two extremely good kids. But things get chaotic. They pick up on their father's Irish temper." She knew she could poke fun at him all she wanted, but in the end all she remembered was the day he came back from the dead and the way they kissed amid tears, throwing their whole beings into each other.
Their conversation didn't last long. Colette appeared and greeted them with a fume about Laura, and Emma, unsure how to respond, chuckled underhandedly. "Col, its the boyfriend I'm telling you. Once they get a boyfriend its like the authority flies out the window." She giggled. "Atleast thats how you were? Remember. Relating to the subject based on experience, she rolled her eyes some at her own past folly in days gone by. It was getting harder to wrap her head around the endless fact of aging. She wasn't seventeen anymore.
Along with yours as well. Might as well get this little bit out of the way so we can just stop worrying and start shopping."
In full agreement, Emma answered promptly, "They're great. Short and sweet. Now let's go, I'm in need of some new pumps." It felt nice to let go and be free; to not have to worry about next week's schedule or the attendance lists or the complaint forms on file or even what to make for dinner. It was amazing to not have to feel the obligation to be a housewife for just a few hours. And if a nice pair of shoes and some blouses went with that, that was cool, too.
"All right, who's going to open up the gossip rag first? We're all thinking it." She smirked. Exclusive girls' days were so, so needed every once in a while.

"Col, its the boyfriend I'm telling you. Once they get a boyfriend its like the authority flies out the window." She giggled. "Atleast thats how you were? Remember.."
Colette's mouth dropped open as she laughed. "Oh shut up! I was not that bad..." She grinned. "Let's just hope and pray, she doesn't take after me." Grabbing a penny from her purse, she flicked it into the fountain.
"They are wonderful. I'm the one that's falling apart." "They're great. Short and sweet. Now let's go, I'm in need of some new pumps."
Colette raised her brows as she laughed. "Fine don't ask me how mine are." She joked. "But hey, new shoes sound good right now." She grinned, giving Emma a soft hug. Looking to Adyson, she smiled softly. "It gets easier, I promise."
"All right, who's going to open up the gossip rag first? We're all thinking it."
Colette couldn't help but laugh, knowing how right Emma was on that one. "Well. Not really gossip, but..." She took a deep breath as they walked towards one of the shoe stores. "Tyler proposed to Kyla." She nodded, smiling. "She said yes." She grinned. Turning to Emma, she raised a brow. "And speaking of gossip, I heard from someone you have a student that... uh, how do I put this?" Pausing, she thought it over. "Is head over heels for you, and not in that 'I like you, your my teacher' kind of way, either. Least, that's what I've heard."

Shaking her head, thinking of her children (when wasn't she thinking of them was the better phrase), she added, "I'm lucky to have two extremely good kids. But things get chaotic. Adyson laughed at that. "Well that makes me feel so much better. But it's still hard..." That was all she was able to get in before Colette came forward talking. "Oh shut up! I was not that bad..." She grinned. "Let's just hope and pray, she doesn't take after me." Adyson laughed hard. "Exactly, because if she does in college we are going to get a lotttt of phone calls from the dean.
"Fine don't ask me how mine are." She joked. "But hey, new shoes sound good right now."
"How are your lovely children?" She asked to please. "Yes I love me some shoes. She paused looking to Emma with a smile. "Lead the way girl." They were walking and Emma turned with a smirk. All right, who's going to open up the gossip rag first? We're all thinking it."
Ady only shrugged. She wasn't much on gossip at the moment. She was so busy with work and being a new mother to two toddlers. But Colette seemed to have some news. "Well. Not really gossip, but..." She took a deep breath as they walked towards one of the shoe stores. "Tyler proposed to Kyla." She nodded, smiling. "She said yes." Her heart grew warm for the two.
"They totally deserve life together. They are the sweetest set of kids." She managed to let out before Coco turned to Emma. "And speaking of gossip, I heard from someone you have a student that... uh, how do I put this?" Pausing, she thought it over. "Is head over heels for you, and not in that 'I like you, your my teacher' kind of way, either. Least, that's what I've heard."
A smirk came to her face. "Oh yes I heard that too. Do tell Emma." She giggled.

"Fine don't ask me how mine are."
"Bitch, I want new shoes," retorted Emma hotly, though playful. After a brief bout of laughter, she didn't bother to ask Colette, since Ady had already taken care of it. "You know I'd steal Parker and Eliza if I could. I figured we'd want to get away from our kids for a few hours, is all."
Adyson remained silent for a little while, and being stuck in between one quiet person and one talkative put Emma in a weird position. Trying to accommodate both, she listened intently to Colette, then looked to Adyson, hoping to spring an answer from her.
Tyler proposed to Kyla. She said yes." "They totally deserve life together. They are the sweetest set of kids."
Clasping her hands and bringing them to her heart, Emma let out a melting, "Aww! They really do. I'm so happy for them. We'll have to get them something nice for the wedding. They're too cute together."
Before she could say another word, the attention was turned to her.
And speaking of gossip, I heard from someone you have a student that... uh, how do I put this? Is head over heels for you, and not in that 'I like you, your my teacher' kind of way, either. Least, that's what I've heard."
"Oh yes I heard that too. Do tell Emma."
Blowing out a bit of exasperated, embarrassed air, Emma couldn't help but let the corners of her mouth curl up into a grin. "Okay, it's been blown way out of proportion. I was talking with my kid Andrew one day, and he just poured his friggin soul out to me. He read me poetry, told me what he loved about me, and then said that he loved me." Thinking it over, she realized maybe nobody had blown it out of proportion at all--maybe she just didn't like to think about it. Snickering, she covered her already bright red face with her hands, and, laughing, added, "Then he kissed me."
Emma gave a laugh straight from her stomach, feeling her face flare up so much she was sure she resembled a cherry more than a human. "The worst part was letting him down and go through the 'Whoa, kid, but I'm married and having my third child and I don't love you and you're seventeen' stuff. He started bawling and I'm not lying when I say I almost did too, just the way he looked at me."
Emma began to wonder--who the fuck was programming her life?

"Exactly, because if she does in college we are going to get a lotttt of phone calls from the dean."
Colette just looked at Adyson as if she had two heads. "That, is our secret." She smirked. "Mm, speaking of Dean," She paused, looking to both of them. "He's been coming around a lot lately, with no apparent reason. Telling me how much my friendship means to him... " Her brows furrowed, she went on. "He's freaking me out, and making me worry."
"How are your lovely children?" She asked to please. "Yes I love me some shoes. "Bitch, I want new shoes, You know I'd steal Parker and Eliza if I could. I figured we'd want to get away from our kids for a few hours, is all."
Colette laughed softly as she pointed to one of the stores. "Good place, lots of deals." Pausing, she smiled. "They're great. The twins, I mean. But, uh... I want to kill my oldest." Shrugging it off she sighed softly. "Okay, no more kid talk." She zipped her lips with a soft laugh.
"They totally deserve life together. They are the sweetest set of kids." "Aww! They really do. I'm so happy for them. We'll have to get them something nice for the wedding. They're too cute together."
Colette nodded. "Totally." Laughing again, she shook her head. "Listen to me, I hang around too many teenagers." She scoffed softly. "They do deserve it though, good for them." She smiled.
"Oh yes I heard that too. Do tell Emma."
Colette and Adyson both glued their eyes on Emma as she told the story. "Then he kissed me." Colette's eyes grew wide. "Oh wow." She whispered, shaking her head. "That's just.... wow."
"The worst part was letting him down and go through the 'Whoa, kid, but I'm married and having my third child and I don't love you and you're seventeen' stuff. He started bawling and I'm not lying when I say I almost did too, just the way he looked at me."
"Well," Colette began, looking at a stand in the middle of the mall that sold smoothies. "Heading there, right now. But besides my smoothie cravings; you needed to tell him that. Even if his heart did break, y'know? Your his professor, your married, you have two, almost three kids." She sighed. "His reality must have been completely warped. I read his file, has he been talking to um, his mother?" She asked, brows furrowed. "Poor guy, losing your mom is enough, let alone seeing her spirit every day of the week."
