Today, was a girl's day out. She smiled down at Eliza as they headed down the street towards Central Park. It'd been a long morning, and Colette was just thankful it was mid-day. Before too long, she'd be tucking the kids in bed and enjoying a glass of wine on the patio. Maybe with Mal, if she was lucky. Parker was staying home with Laura and Tyler. She couldn't help but drag the man into it. Maybe he could get laura to talk to him, of course, that would only happen if luck was on his side. The wind blew then as she pushed the stroller across the street. She was right across from Belleza, and it made her smile. She could always go over and walk in and visit with Ains. But, another idea popped into her head instead. Grabbing her phone from her purse, she quickly dialed the familiar number. " Ains? Hey." Colette smiled brightly. " Think you can squeeze some girl time in? I'm right outside actually." She laughed softly.

Ainslie was beyond beat. It was only noon and already she had dealt with too much. Some reporter had stopped by and wanted to ask some questions about the mutant life and its connection to the strange activity lately being attributed to "Weres," so she had had to play dumb about that. And then that had got her thinking about Gage. And after thinking about Gage, she was thinking about texting him but before she even got a chance a girl-fight had broken out in the kitchen. Which some how led to a fight between two boys out in the rec room and she had had to break both of those up...
God, it was going to be a long fucking week, if today was any measure.
Just when she was stalking into the kitchen, her sights set on the bottle of Jim Beam in the top cupboard, her cell phone beeped. It was Lucas, she just knew it. It was going to be Lucas with some life trouble that he needed her to solve and she just could not handle that. Not at all.
Glancing at the screen though, she was pleasantly surprised to find a picture of Colette hovering there. Her face split into a bright, beaming smiling as she accepted the call. "CoCo!" she shouted enthusiastically. "Ains? Hey. Think you can squeeze some girl time in? I'm right outside actually." Ainslie laughed and made her way toward the foyer and front entrance. "Of course I can! I'll see you in, like, three seconds." She hung up then, opening the door and spotting Colette there, with Eliza in tow.
"Hey!" she called, loping down the steps to meet her friend. "You didn't tell me the pretty girl was coming!" Giving Colette a tight hug, she crouched down to meet eyes with her daughter. "Hey there, Liza-Jay. How're you doing, hmm?" Smiling up to Colette, she added on, "What brings you to my humble abode?"

"CoCo!"
Colette laughed softly as she leaned against the stroller, looking over at the mansion. "That's my name." She joked lightly. "Of course I can! I'll see you in, like, three seconds." Laughter flowed out again as she hung up and placed it back in her purse. Head lifting, she spotted Ainslie coming closer. "Hey you." She smiled.
"Hey!" she called, loping down the steps to meet her friend. "You didn't tell me the pretty girl was coming!"
"I thought I'd make it my surprise for you for the day." She smirked, looking down at Eliza as she giggled. "Hey there, Liza-Jay. How're you doing, hmm?" Eliza grinned, her arms stretching up and trying to reach out to Ainslie. "Mmmma![/i]"
"What brings you to my humble abode?"
"Got tired of mine." She smiled. "Wanna trade?" She asked in a hyper teenager-ey voice. Soon again, she was laughing, shaking her head. "Actually me and Miss Eliza were heading to the park. But then I started thinking," She paused, finger on her chin. "'Boy, being at the park all alone would be kinda sad.'" She grinned. "So I called you." She explained, hugged her side.

One of Those..."I thought I'd make it my surprise for you for the day." Ainslie grinned at that, tapping the little girl on the nose. "Well, it's certainly a nice surprise. You would not believe the day I've had already. I was heading for my good friend Jim when you hit up my phone." She laughed a little before passing a fond smile to Eliza as she reached for her.
"Oh, hey baby," she cooed. Undoing the straps on the stroller, Ainslie lifted Eliza from her seat and straightened up, balancing the toddler on her hip. "Wanna trade?" Ainslie eyes lit up as she adopted a fake, valley-girl accent, "Omigod, like, totally! It'll be, like, fierce!" Shaking her head, she fell back into her somewhat tired stance. "Please, you do not want my house with all the trouble it brings." She loved all her kids, truly, but some days... And this was just one of those days.
She laughed a little at Colette's reasoning and nodded. "I could go for a little time at the park." Before she was even finished speaking, she had her phone out and had shot off a quick text to Evangeline. "Just let Evan know I'm AWOL for the next couple hours." Holding Eliza up in the air a minute, she finally strapped the little girl back in the seat. "Whatcha say, pretty girl, wanna go to the park?"

"Well, it's certainly a nice surprise. You would not believe the day I've had already. I was heading for my good friend Jim when you hit up my phone."
Colette laughed softly, shaking her head. "Having an affair with jim, this early Ains?" She smirked, joking lightly with her. "Oh trust me, I had a day too. Then I decided for a girl's day out. Laura's at the house with Tyler and Parker now."
"Omigod, like, totally! It'll be, like, fierce!" Shaking her head, she fell back into her somewhat tired stance. "Please, you do not want my house with all the trouble it brings."
Colette shook her head, a large smile gracing her face. "Please," She laughed a moment before continuing. "You're house? Try mine." She smiled. Within a moment, she started laughing as Ainslie picked Eliza up. "Look at us, fighting over who has the worst house."
"I could go for a little time at the park."
She nodded. "Okay. First we're stopping for some coffee." She said, leaning close to Eliza as Ainslie sat her on her hip. "And we'll get miss Liza something too." She smiled, tapping her nose.
"Just let Evan know I'm AWOL for the next couple hours." Holding Eliza up in the air a minute, she finally strapped the little girl back in the seat. "Whatcha say, pretty girl, wanna go to the park?"
Colette nodded. "No problem." She smiled, watching as Eliza twisted in Ainslie's arms, trying to get her fingers on those red curls of hers. "Mmammma[/i]" Colette laughe =d softly. "I'll take that as a 'let's roll'"

"Having an affair with Jim, this early Ains?" Ainslie tilted her head back in laughter at that, shaking her head. "Oh, you know me, CoCo. I just can't stay away! But I have to confess, I cheat on him sometimes... With Johnnie and sometimes even Jose..." She smirked a little at that. It faded, though, at the mention of Laura. "Oh yeah? How's the little bit doing, huh? Any better?" Ainslie's heart went out to the pre-teen and she only wished there was something she could do to help her out.
"Okay. First we're stopping for some coffee. And we'll get Miss Liza something too." Nodding, Ainslie grinned. "Mmmm, coffee... And what is she gonna get, huh?" she asked, turning to the little girl. "Maybe some chocolate milk, hmm? Yummm."
"Hey, no way, girlie," Ainslie counted with a laugh as Eliza tried to tug on her hair. Once the little girl was settled in the stroller, Ainslie tapped her on the nose and looked to Colette. "To coffee we go?" she requested.

Colette smiled. "Mmm, don't we all?" She grinned with a soft laugh. "Understandable though, I get it." She nodded. This job had stress factors, that was for sure.
"Oh yeah? How's the little bit doing, huh? Any better?"
Colette nodding lightly. "She's... Laura." She laughed. "She's like her dad. Keeps things bottled up, I get that. I get that, she's going through a change and I'm not her favorite person in the world right now.. I just wish she would talk to me."
"Mmmm, coffee... And what is she gonna get, huh?" she asked, turning to the little girl. "Maybe some chocolate milk, hmm? Yummm."
"Maybe." She smiled, looking down at her daughter. "Maybe even a piece of donut, yum." She grinned as she began pushing the stroller after Ainslie popped her back in.
"To coffee we go?"
"To coffee we go!" She repeated with a bit of cheer. She smiled brightly, looking back at Ains. "Sooo." She paused. "How's life?" She asked with a tint of laughter in her voice. "And what made you want to have a morning special with Jim, huh?"
