Lost If I lost you - Travis Tritt Everyone in Rosewood knew Dean was in the backyard, and by the expression on his face, he didn't want to be bothered. But truth be told, he needed to talk. He knew he could easily walk upstairs and talk to Emma, but passing his class room on the way there, he found... her kitty. It was her favorite. She always carried it around with her, everywhere she went. Flashes of the night she was taken past his mind; and he recalled having to put her to sleep because she had left it behind here at Rosewood. Now she was all alone, and she didn't have kitty. She didn't have Harmony, and she didn't have Dean. He could only imagine what she was feeling. This is all my fault. He told himself repeatedly over the week that had passed since she had been taken. The police were on it. There was an Amber Alert. They were to 'sit and wait'. But how could he just sit there and do nothing when this was his daughter!? His little girl. She was his entire world. Tears in his eyes, his head lowered. " Please." Hie whispered, his voice hoarse. " Someone please tell me I'm dreaming."

Dean was rocking the boat that she'd been in once, rowing with all his might, muscles aching, heart breaking, veins pulsing and jutting out from his skin with tears locked in tightly because 'a man couldn't cry.' The question was how long could he paddle? and how long would it take before they came to shore? The police would be less efficient than the bounty hunter sitting on the bench in the backyard of Rosewood, and they both knew it. His problem was his guilt, also something she could relate to. But just how could she approach him about this and claim she knew what he was going through without receiving repercussions? Then she figured: it was worth it, for Dean. Meekly she began to advance toward him, standing a short distance behind his seat before she heard his words. Blowing out a soft, inaudible breath, she slid up from behind and cupped her hand over his shoulder. He didn't want to talk and she knew that. But she also knew that he didn't want to; couldn't be alone. Placing herself beside him, she said nothing for a long while, just sitting there. Eventually, this came out: "You're in love with her. And we're going to find her."

He felt the pressure of a gentle hand on his shoulder. He didn't have to turn and look to know it was Emma. How many times had this happened? Somethhing bad would come and drop a bomb and they'd be there, picking up the pieces for each other and their loved ones. But that's family. He told himself.
As she took to sitting beside him, he stayed silent, head bowed, eyes teared up. He wanted so bad to cry. To just honestly break down. But he had to be strong, if not for Regan, than for Harmony; and that was the only prevention he had from not completely losing his mind.
"You're in love with her. And we're going to find her."
He sniffed, nodding as a soft chuckle escaped. Because, he was Dean Winchester. Despite the pain, he had to laugh. It was his coping mechanism. "I hope so." He couldn't sit here any longer. But he had no idea where to even look. Knowing Kandy, she was far gone by now.
"I keep thinking this is all just my imagination telling lies." He paused, clearing his voice since he sounded so strained. "Or... that I'm honestly dreaming. And if I am, please someone wake me the fuck up."

The minute she heard his voice her eyes welled with tears. She couldn't bear to see Dean so hurt. When one person in the family hurt, the rest of them followed suit. Taking his hand, she rubbed it with her thumb in a steady rhythm, keeping herself composed for him. A few times she nodded, but she wasn't sure to what she was nodding. At last, she said, "You will. I found Oliver when Sai took him. You'll find Regan. We're all behind you on this. She can't stay lost forever." She refused to let this go on for another day; hour.
With her other hand, she reached over and ran it up and down his arm, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I wish I could, Dean. I really wish I could." She would give anything to make this imaginary. "But I don't have to. Because we're going to find her. Very, very soon. She'll be back with her Daddy before you can blink. I promise. We're trying everything." But that meant they couldn't just sit here. He needed to get up, get moving, get going.

"You will. I found Oliver when Sai took him. You'll find Regan. We're all behind you on this. She can't stay lost forever."
He wanted to say that Oliver was different. Sai is technically the boy's father, he was still in some what good hands. But he could never say that to her, cause that would nearly kill her, and it would most certainly strain their relationship(cause it's clearly not strained enough as it is). "Thanks." He whispered softly, placing a hand on her knee and patting it gently.
"I wish I could, Dean. I really wish I could. But I don't have to. Because we're going to find her. Very, very soon. She'll be back with her Daddy before you can blink. I promise. We're trying everything."
He could just see her, even hear her calling for him. That big beautiful grin on her face. But he couldn't touch her, couldn't be where she was. Wherever she was. "You think I should go." He said softly. "To look, to hunt." His head slowly turned, looking into her eyes.

She absolutely, unequivocally, undeniably could not say yes. If she did, it would send everyone in a tidal pool of downfall, of dismay, of trouble. He would start to go down that path again, and Lord knows how he would return, if he ever did. Dean would get addicted, or he'd get hurt, or no one would be able to help him. Or God forbid Cian offered to help (which she knew he would)... There was no two ways about it, she positively had to say no.
But she said yes. Softly, timidly, and rather afraid, but she said it. Because it was what needed to be done. The NYPD were not going to be able to find and capture a demon. This had to be taken in their own hands if they were going to save Regan.
Continuing, she added, "Yes, I believe that you can save her. But you need to be careful. I know it's killing you to sit here and wait around, because you were raised to hunt. To protect your family. You were born into hunting demons and anti-mutants. It's time to use your instincts and find your daughter."

He breathed out a sigh slowly, his shoulders relaxing as he did. He didn't realize he was so tense, but he could feel his muscles starting to ease a bit. But then she spoke a soft yes, and his eyes were on hers again.
"Yes, I believe that you can save her. But you need to be careful. I know it's killing you to sit here and wait around, because you were raised to hunt. To protect your family. You were born into hunting demons and anti-mutants. It's time to use your instincts and find your daughter."
He gave that half smile as his hand lifted and cupped the side of her face. "I know that was hard for you to say." He said softly, moving his hand to wrap around her shoulder and pull her to his side. "I'm not going alone." He told her.
"Harmony will be there." His brows furrowed. "I hate to ask..." He sighed. "But do you think you can watch Logan? I don't think it'd be safe for him to come along. I mean, if youcan't; I understand."

There was a deafening, painful moment of silence as his hand touched her face, and she had the slightest inkling to pull back and just let him be. Soon she found herself against his side, and she put her cheek against the inside of his shoulder, resting on him with a heavy sigh. More hard than you think, Dean, she mentally released, realizing only afterwards that there was no point in trying to keep thoughts to herself. Telepathy needed to go extinct.
"I'm not going alone."
Well, he wasn't asking Cian, if that was what he was implying. She refused to let Cian out of her sight most of the time in his condition. She had surprised herself this morning when she was able to drag herself out of the bedroom to leave him alone. Emma wasn't sure she wanted to come back and find him completely dismantled from being tormented. "You're going to need more help than Harmony," she conceded.
Then he asked the unthinkable. The impossible. Picking up her head in alarm, she was able to form a soft answer right away. "I can't do that. Not to Logan. Not with Cian the way he is." Her heart shattered saying the words. The very remembrance brought tears to her eyes. "I don't want to put that boy in danger. It's already hard enough keeping Cian safe from Azrael."

'More hard than you think, Dean'
He sighed, shaking his head softly. "I know." he whispered. "You're going to need more help than Harmony," He shook his head. "I can't, Emma. This... it has to be just us. It's just... Kandy. I can handle her." He was hoping she could understand. He needed to do this with Harmony, to make it right.
"I can't do that. Not to Logan. Not with Cian the way he is. I don't want to put that boy in danger. It's already hard enough keeping Cian safe from Azrael."
He nodded. "Okay." he whispered. "I know, I shouldn't of asked. I can always leave him with Colette." He sighed softly. "How is.. he?" He asked gently. "I heard through the grapevine that his sister is staying with him? Isn't she an angel?" Woah, slow down. Too many questions at once. "I'm only asking cause..." He swallowed roughly. "Castiel."

Just Kandy. All right. When Dean came to his senses, then she'd try to reason with that statement.
Fighting against that woman wouldn't make his relationship stronger with Harmony, especially if one of them got hurt. The other would only feel responsible. But it wasn't her place to voice any of that, so she kept her mouth shut for a while. Especially as he started to rattle off questions about Cian. Her chin trembled for a fraction of a second before she inhaled shakily, steadying herself to reply.
"In pain." No sense in lying or beating around the bush. Not with Dean. Whatever information she gave was safe with him. "I can't bear to see him this way..." she added breathlessly, burrowing her face in the soft part of his shoulder. Emma nodded. "Yeah. Colleen is with us for now." Which only meant that she couldn't take care of Cian herself. A tear dribbled down her cheek but she pushed it away hastily.
"What about Castiel?"

"In pain. I can't bear to see him this way... Yeah. Colleen is with us for now."
He nodded slowly. Without saying anything, his hand rubbed her arm, trying to comfort her as much as he could. "That's good, that's she there. I know you want to take care of him, but you... Emma," He sighed, thinking before saying. "I know you know how Azrael is. But you're too close to home. It's good to have another set of eyes. Someone who can watch your back." He nodded softly, brows furrowed.
"What about Castiel?"
He hated to ask, but he had to. "You think you can ask Colleen to send a message to Cas. Let him know I need to talk to him. Soon." He smiled softly. "I'm not crazy about the guy, he's like a zombie. Never really says much, but... he's," He shrugged. "He pulled me out of hell."
