New York stunk. Harleigh was not just meaning it stunk to be out here, but the actual air stunk. Too much pollution, too many people, not enough space. She sighed as she walked around the walk way her hands in her pockets. It was such a lonely place. There was no one here she could actually talk to, or who could understand her very southern cajun accent. Her blonde hair blew in the nice breeze that the surrounded this peaceful place. The sight of the sun setting almost made her forget about the stink. She felt so out of place here. No papa, no mama, no Leon. No other werewolves. This was just a stupid chance for the elders to get the youngin's out of the house to find someone to bring back home to Louisiana. That was not going to happen. No way, No how was Harleigh going to bring home so city lovin' boy back home to Bon Temps. That was not happening. Sighing she kicked a rock that was in front of her as she walked. The sun started to disappear behind the manhattan skyline, and the sky shined a bright pink and orange. The breeze got a tad stronger causing her to get goose bumps on her stomach. Tugging her jacket tighter around her she continued to walk. Sure, she hated this place, but she had to admit it was pretty when the sun was going down. Though she knew nothing was fun about walking around late at night all alone. Atleast not in this form, or in this city. Bad things happened to defenseless girls all alone at night. Good thing she wasn't defenseless.

He was on a roll, literally. In were form he was on his back, rubbing into the grass of the small wooded area he had found around the heights. Sighing, he closed his eyes a moment, trying to not hear anything for once. Since being here in New York, things have gotten bad. Trouble was finding him everywhere. From bar fights (in which he didn't start), to letting a mutant believe he was a mutant (he was caught shifting). Shifting back into human form he groaned, grabbing his clothes. " For fucks sake." He muttered in his southern accent as he grabbed his hat out of the mud the tip of it had been sitting in. " Jesus christ." Finding his way back up the path to humanity, he sighed, placing the muddy cap back on his head as he dusted his hands off. What the...? His nose was in the air, catching a scent he had never smelled in the city before (besides from the polluted air, and sewers). " Magnolias?" He muttered, standing there in the walkway, where no light was reaching. Brows furrowed, he turned, following the scent path it was leaving behind.

It was almost completely dark by now. The pink and all the faded colors of orange and yellow were almost all gone. Sighing she saw that everyone who had been around was leaving. Taking glance around to make sure no one was still around she walked off the path and towards a tree. Behind the tree she started smiling, and laughing. She was going to get to go for a run, and oh how bad she needed one. Pulling off her jacket and hanging it on a branch she began to hum a song that used to be her mother's favorite. As she pulled off her shirt, and shimmied off her shorts she bust out singing the words. "Whose bed have your boots been under, And whose heart did ya steal I wonder." She giggled softly pulling off her boots and hiding them next to the tree. Hearing a branch crack she stopped smiling and her eyes widened and her nose searching the air for a smell. Then it hit her. Sandal Wood. In New York no fucking way. "Whose dere?" She stepped out from the shade of the trees in only her bra and underwear.

He was on the sidewalk for the longest time, but with a sharp turn, he was heading back down into the woods. He was following the trail, a smile on his face as his heart began to race again. He was ready for another run. But first, the scent.
"Whose bed have your boots been under, And whose heart did ya steal I wonder."
"And this time did it feel like thunder, baby." he automatically sung out. Covering a hand over his mouth, he crouched down, cracking a twig in the process. Shit. Damn it momma. He cussed out his momma, since it was a song she sung often. It was in his blood to just blurt out the next lone. He couldn't help it.
"Whose dere?"
A Cajun accent? He debated standing or shifting and running off. He chewed on his lower lip a moment and quickly shifted into his wolf form and started off towards the woods. Stopping a moment later, he turned back, throwing his head up into the air he let out a haunting howl.

"And this time did it feel like thunder, baby."
Harleigh's brow raised and she couldn't help but giggle. It was a guy she knew that. Then she remembered she was in her underwear and bra. He was close she could sense it. Then his presence disappeared.
"Where'd ya go pervert?" She whispered and jumped back behind the tree. Slipping off the remainder of her clothing she tried to hurry up the process, but then she heard a howl. A haunting howl. A bunch of things ran through her mind.
The change was painful, but if you sped it up. It hurt even more. She sped it up keeping her cried of pain to herself as she found herself in her wolf form. Letting her paws sink into the grass she stretched softly before letting out a howl of her own.
Her howl held her pride and her feminine side. It was more cocky than scary. She raced out into the forest trying to find the source of the other howl. The smell of sandal wood still lingered in the air.
The scent would have to wait. She had to find the other wolf who howled. Maybe it was a werewolf...maybe it wasn't. Then she could find the sandal wood scented pervert.

"Where'd ya go pervert?"
No where you can follow. He smirked, as he took off down the steep hill, weaving between trees. As a howl swept through the evening air, Colt shook his entire body. What the f-- Taking in a long whiff, he could smell it. Magnolia.
He could hear the thunder of paws hitting earth and tearing through it. Pushing off with all his might he took down the hill. He was curious, very in fact, but he was in a strange land, and the Forrest area was small.
If it comes to it, we'll take it through the back streets. He grinned, skidding to a stop as he changed his straight ahead approach to taking a right. Letting out a howl, he laughed inwardly. If it was a chase this wolf wanted, well then, they got it.
But then his curiosity was getting to him. One moment there's a woman... I know there's some wolves in New York, but what are the odds? He thought, as he pushed on. And I haven't ran into another were... Skidding to a stop, he crouched low in the leaves.
Who are you...

She tore through the small forest as if it were a peice of paper. The curiousity was taking over her. Follwing the scent she found herself going straight. Wasn't a very smart wolf...and then it changed.
She found herself going right. Speeding up she ran smiling on the inside. Where oh where are ya lil' wolfay...
Before she could recognize the scent she found that it stopped. Tripping over herself she skidded to a hault landing in mud. She huffed air out from her nose as if she was sighing.
Go fucking figure. She snarled at herself. Standing up and shaking herself off. Then she noticed right ahead was where the scent stopped. She stepped forward growling. It wasn't a mean growl...just a confused one.
The wolf would take it as a challenge...a were would take it as she meant it. Who the fuck was he? She moved forward with caution. When she got closer she noticed it. Sandal Wood... This was the pervert. He was a werewolf. Well...maybe he wasn't a perv. Maybe he was just following her scent. She shook the thought. For all she knew he could be a mean werewolf...

He huffed, hunkered down in the dirt and grass, his eyes locked on her as she followed his scent. Rising slowly, he stepped out. And then it hit him like a ton of bricks; Magnolia. His head lowered slightly, and his shoulders held high, he walked over and sniffed her once more.
She was a were. There was no doubt about it. Breathing out a huff of air from his nose, he sighed. Eyes gleaming as he stood there, starring at her. There's no telling if she's mean, or rebellious. He could get in a lot of trouble with the pack... Fuck the pack. They couldn't protect Aly.
His head lifted, his bottom half lowering as he sat down in front of her. I'll shift if ya shift darlin' He smiled, his tongue rolling out of his mouth.

Harleigh took a big wiff as he walked towards her. She was sure now that it was him, and he is a were. She praised herself in her mind for finding one. Now she could go back home, but she knew her dad wouldn't let her off that easy.
As he sat down in front of her she could only take that as he wasn't a mean one. She lowered her head to look into his eyes. She read the look the best she could, but she wanted to meet this guy. Wanted to see the face behind the wolf. She walked past him and towards where she came.
She turned around and stared at him. She howled a short soft howl. Well come on then... She waited impatiently for him to stand up and start walking as soon as she did she focused back on getting back to her clothes.
As she walked back towards the tree she had her clothes at she culd only wonder what this guy looked like. Most guys in her pack looked rough and scraggily as if they were so incontrollable in both forms. It would be nice to meet another were who might actually know how to not look so ragged.
As she approached her tree she turned aroung and snarled. No peaking perv. Then she let out a growl that sounded close to laughter as she pranced back behind the tree. She changed, but she didn't rush it. She was a little tired and she didn't have enough energy to speed it up.
Slipping back into her clothes she made her way from behind the tree. "Well where y'at sandal wood?" She leaned back on the tree crossing her arms.

He was laughing on the inside as she barked, snarled and howled orders at him, as if she was some Alpha female. Hell, maybe she was. But she wasn't his Alpa. He has (had?) an alpha, and this She-wolf was nothing like her.
He snarled back at her. As if, Darlin' He howled out as he laughed. His body tensed up as he slowly and painfully shifted back. "Well where y'at sandal wood?" He mumbled something as he struggled to get his jeans on. Throwing his shirt over his back he walked out, placing his muddy cap back on his head.
"Whatchu mean sandal wood?" He threw back at her, brows furrowed as he gave her a good stare. She was pretty, he had to admit that. But she was bossy, or so it seemed to him. "You're not from here, are ya?" He asked, throwing his shirt on. Grabbing his shoes, he smirked. "I can tell from that Cajun accent of yours."

"Whatchu mean sandal wood?"
He came out of the dark his bare chest shining in the little moonlight that there was. She gulped raising a brow. Not one bit scraggily. He was looker too. She shook the thought and answered him. "That's what ya smell like Sandal Wood."
"You're not from here, are ya?" He asked, throwing his shirt on. Grabbing his shoes, he smirked. "I can tell from that Cajun accent of yours."
Harleigh smiled softly. "Naw I'm as Cajun as can be. Born and raised in Louisiana." She smirked softly. "But yer not from round here either." She stood up straight not leaning on the tree. "Cause people round here don't know any Shania." She giggled softly.
Stretching softly she pulled her hair back into a pony tail. "So what can I call ya, Sandal Wood." She smirked softly.
A smile crept across her face. She knew that she shouldn't really give away any of her information, but if he was threat to her he would have attacked already. It was then that she noticed a warm hot feeling on her thigh. She looked down an whinced.
A gash about an inch long and pretty deep was pouring blood down her leg. "Fuck." She whimpered. She held her hand against the gash hoping to stop the bleeding. "Go figure I hurt myself on a five minute run."

"That's what ya smell like Sandal Wood."
He lifted his shirt, taking in a whiff. "Go figure." He muttered, smiling softly as his green orbs locked with hers. "You smell like... magnolias." He chuckled softly. "Naw I'm as Cajun as can be. Born and raised in Louisiana." We're neighbors. He chuckled inwardly.
"But yer not from round here either." She stood up straight not leaning on the tree. "Cause people round here don't know any Shania."
He laughed easily. "Ya got that right. Mississippi, born and raised." He wasn't going to tell her his life story, but this was enough for now. "So what can I call ya, Sandal Wood." He smirked, crossing his arms over his stomach. "Colt." He flashed a grin at her. "What about you, Magnolia?"
"Fuck." She whimpered. She held her hand against the gash hoping to stop the bleeding. "Go figure I hurt myself on a five minute run."
He took a few steps closer, getting a good look at the gash. Sucking in a breath, he whistled low. "That's gonna be a scar." But he knew his momma would be kickin' his behind if he didn't offer some southern hospitality. But really, what could he do?
His eyes trailed around, looking for cloth. Fuck it to hell and suck my balls. He cursed. Grabbing the hem of his shirt, he tore the cloth long and wide enough to wrap around her leg and cover the gash. "Here." He kneeled down before her, wrapping the cloth around it tightly and tying it in a knot. "That should help."

"Go figure." He muttered, smiling softly as his green orbs locked with hers. "You smell like... magnolias."
Harleigh smiled. "Really...wow. S'better than sandal wood I s'ppose." She giggled softly. "Even if I love the smell of Sandal Wood." She grinned.
"Ya got that right. Mississippi, born and raised."
Harleigh smirked softly. "Something told me you were a Mississppi boy." She giggled softly and found herself liking the smell of sandal wood. Her father said when she found a werewolf who made her comfortable she would slowly get attached. She shook the thought. She didn't want to get attached to anyone but her family.
Getting attached made people weak, and plus she was supposed to be the single werewolf girl everyone faught over. She always imagined falling for a Louisiana boy....not a Mississppi boy. She pushed the thought completly from her head. She just met him what the fuck was she thinking.
"Colt." He flashed a grin at her. "What about you, Magnolia?"
"Colt." She smirked. "Like the gun." She bit her lip. "That's pretty badass." She laughed. "I'm Harleigh." She said with her sweet cajun accent. Why was she so comfortabl telling him stuff? Was it becuase she was all alone in New York, and he was the first person to actually talk to her and understand her....and probably because he was were?
"That's gonna be a scar."
Fuck. A scar. She sighed wanting to punch herself. "Yeah fuck it is." She held her hand to head. "Shit." She was so pissed more for getting hurt than for bleeding all over her boots. "i'm such a fucking dumbass. With a horrible sailors mouth." She laughed softly. Then he was crouched down in front of her ripping his shirt and tying it around her thigh. She whimpered softly at the pain of the dry cloth on her wound. She felt her eyes water. "Ouch." She said softly.
"Here." He kneeled down before her, wrapping the cloth around it tightly and tying it in a knot. "That should help." She smirked softly as he stood up. "Thanks." She limped softly towards the path up ahead. "Hey let me buy ya a drink somewhere least I can do for ya touching my blood and all." She smiled softly.

"Really...wow. S'better than sandal wood I s'ppose." She giggled softly. "Even if I love the smell of Sandal Wood."
She was what his momma would call; trouble. Smirking, he shrugged. "Magnolia ain't too bad." He grinned back at her. "Like the gun." She bit her lip. "That's pretty badass." She laughed. "I'm Harleigh." He chuckled, head bobbing a moment. "Like the bike?" He threw back at her with a smirk, and a twinkle in his eye.
"I'm such a fucking dumbass. With a horrible sailors mouth. Hey, let me buy ya a drink somewhere, least I can do for ya touching my blood and all."
"Use to it." He paused, laughing a moment. "Blood I mean. But yea, if ya want to buy me a drink for the trouble then. Hell yeah, by all means." He grinned, following behind her incase she lost her balance on that leg and fell.
"I hear there's this new place not far from here."

"Magnolia ain't too bad."
Harleigh laughed softly. "Thanks. I s'ppose." She shook her head softly as he teased her about the name. "Hey now it's spelled differently." She grinned softly.
"Use to it." He paused, laughing a moment. "Blood I mean. But yea, if ya want to buy me a drink for the trouble then. Hell yeah, by all means."
She smirked softly. "Well then a drink it is. What do you do mississippi boy....to handle so much blood?" She giggled softly. "I'm sorry not mississippi boy...Colt." She smirked softly. "I think I enjoy making snarky comments at ya."
Harleigh walked up a small hill that the sidewalk was turning into.
"I hear there's this new place not far from here."
She was going to turn around and say something flirty and feisty, but her leg buckled and she tripped falling back a bit and landing on her ass. "Well fuck this." She sighed looking up at him with a glare that turned into a smirk. She pointed at him. "Don't you dare laugh..." As soon as she said it she began to laugh softly.
She tried to stand up, but she was laughing so hard she plopped right back down. "I'm such a ditz. I apologize. Now that you know me I will never stop making myself look like an idiot." She grinned softly.

"Well then a drink it is. What do you do mississippi boy....to handle so much blood?" She giggled softly. "I'm sorry not mississippi boy...Colt." She smirked softly. "I think I enjoy making snarky comments at ya."
"Easy." He started, following closely behind her. "I got four other brothers, including myself. We loved in an open field with a creek out back. So ya gotta figure, that's a lot of cuts and scraps and gashes. Not to mention broken bones." He loved talking about his family. But the question was, why was he telling her this? He hardly knew her..
Next thing he knew she tripped and fell right on her behind. A small smile turned into a wide grin as she smirked up at him. "Don't you dare laugh..." He chuckled, and soon followed in suit with a full blown laugh.
"I'm such a ditz. I apologize. Now that you know me I will never stop making myself look like an idiot."
Laughing, he held out a hand for her. "Don't worry about it." He chuckled, standing her up. "Can ya walk?" He asked. "Cause if not your gonna have to wait for Mr. Right to arrive and carry ya home." He joked with a grin.

"I got four other brothers, including myself. We loved in an open field with a creek out back. So ya gotta figure, that's a lot of cuts and scraps and gashes. Not to mention broken bones."
She nodded softly. "Well I s'ppose that'll do it." She laughed softly. He seemed to be little open with her as well. Was it just because they both didn't fit in in this very urban city? And they finally found someone they can relate too. That's exactly how she felt. Not to mention he was so cute he melted her barriers away.
They both shared a laugh as she sat there on the ground still. Her stomach was in so much pain by the time they finally stopped and he began to talk. "Don't worry about it." He chuckled, standing her up. "Can ya walk?" He asked. "Cause if not your gonna have to wait for Mr. Right to arrive and carry ya home."
She stood up trying not to put too much weight on her hurt leg. "I can try." She hobbled a few steps trying to hide the pain on her face. Why did it hurt so damn much? Probably becuase that small gash tore a bit of her quad muscle she sighed. "Hey wait. Are you calling me fat?" She asked with a bite, but slowly broke into a laugh.
"Mr. Right my ass. There's no such thing, and even he wouldn't carry me home. Home is many a states away." She said through all small sad grin. "Plus I don't think living out of a car counts as much of a home anyways." She had refused to take the Alphas money when she came up here so she was broke and living in a clunkeer of a car.
She turned around to face him, she really shouldn't have told him that. It's not like he was going to offer up for her to stay with him. She smirked softly. "Well are ya gonna just stand there or are you going to take a us too this new place ya heard about?" She placed her hands on her hips. "Unless you don't want that drink afterall." She raised a brow.

"I can try."
He nodded, watching as she hobbled off a bit. He was trying so hard not to smile, or to laugh. "Hey wait. Are you calling me fat?" As she looked at him he busted into laughter. "Not at all, darlin'"
"Mr. Right my ass. There's no such thing, and even he wouldn't carry me home. Home is many a states away."
"Ain't that the truth." He replied with that thick southern accent. A small smile on his face as he realized they were still just standing there. "Plus I don't think living out of a car counts as much of a home anyways." She lived in a car? He tried not to show any expression on his face. But inwardly, his brows were furrowed; concern written on his face.
Sure, new York was the city of dreams. The Concrete Jungle. But it was no place to be sleeping in a car, out on the streets. Even he knew that... "Well are ya gonna just stand there or are you going to take a us too this new place ya heard about?" Catching her eye, he smirked and started off again with a huff, passing her up.
"Unless you don't want that drink afterall."
Turning around, he smirked and walked by down. Without a word, he grabbed her by the hips and hauled her over his shoulder; her face in the small of his back. "Darlin' if your a klutz now, I don' wanna see what yer like when ya drunk." He laughed.

One moment he was passing right by her and the next he was right in front of her. Before she knew it he had grabbed her by the hips and tossed her over his shoulder. "Y'know I would argue with ya...maybe fuss and fight. But I think I'll just take the free ride your offerin'." She giggled softly and made relaxed a little in his arms.
"Darlin' if your a klutz now, I don' wanna see what yer like when ya drunk." He laughed.
Harleigh laughed slightly feeling his body shake as he did the same. "You sure do say darlin'..." She paused trying to imitate his accent as she said it. "Alot Dawlin'." She grinned softly. As they walked aways she saw they were near the streets now. "And I resent that. I'm only a klutz cause I hurt myself. I think I'm superwoman when I'm drunk there's a difference. Just let me try to jump off anything...It seems I can't fly." She let out a genuine laugh.
They walked a bit longer and she sighed playfully. "To be a bit annoyin' I would ask if we were almost dere yet....But I think I'll hush for the moment and enjoy the view of yer backside." She giggled softly and found herself resting on his back. He sure was comfy for a buff guy. Not that she ever rode on a buff guys shoulder before.
"Colt..If ya don't mind me askin' why are you all the way up here in N'york?" She paused. "I mean don't ya miss home?" She knew she missed home, but for some reason they wanted her gone. She knew they said it was for a 'mission', but something was up and she was quite sure how to figure it out just yet. There was no way to just ask her father. He would never tell.
As they walked she waited for his answer and watched the outline of his muscles in his back flex everytime he took a step.

"Y'know I would argue with ya...maybe fuss and fight. But I think I'll just take the free ride your offerin'."
He couldn't help but laugh. She really was t.r.o.u.b.l.e, wasn't she? Pushing himself around the corner, he chuckled to himself as a few head turned. "You sure do say darlin'... Alot Dawlin'." He blew out a laugh, shaking his head. "Whatchu want me to call you, Ma'am?" He teased. "Naw, I think I'll just stick with Magnolia." He grinned.
"And I resent that. I'm only a klutz cause I hurt myself. I think I'm superwoman when I'm drunk there's a difference. Just let me try to jump off anything...It seems I can't fly."
Laughing out-loud, he continued to walk down the alleyways and back streets towards a convenience store where he could easily just buy them a beer. "Suuuure you can, Dawlin." He mocked her accent the best he could.
"To be a bit annoyin' I would ask if we were almost dere yet....But I think I'll hush for the moment and enjoy the view of yer backside."
"Well, aren't you just downright outspoken." He laughed. "Y'know, if my momma heard you, she'd be tellin' what's what." He chuckled. "Lucky for you she's not here." He quipped, jumping slightly to raise her more.
"Colt..If ya don't mind me askin' why are you all the way up here in N'york?" She paused. "I mean don't ya miss home?"
He sighed, crossing the street towards the store. "Of course I miss home. I miss my brothers, and my momma, and my pops." He shrugged. "Let's just say somethin' happened and I needed time to myself."
Just a moment later and he was jamming to a song only he could hear. "Scars heal, glory fades. And all we're left with are the memories made. Pain hurts, but only for a minute. Yeah life is short so go on and live it. 'Cause the chicks dig it!"
