She couldn't say he wasn't there. From five to eight months prgnant, he'd been stuck in the house with her. Whenever she went out for a few hours, so would he. He didn't want her switching the script on him anytime soon. Hand full of bags, and keys in his mouth, he pushed the door open. Some students laughed before helping him into the foyer with the bags. "Damn dude, did you buy out the store?" Jude smirked, shrugging one shoulder in a reply. Truth was, his mom sent him some money. Told him to"start spending some money on giving that kid everything you never had". So.. here he was. Taking a deep breath, he shifted through the bags. " hey, Chris, can you take these to my room? I'mma take the rest up to Lena." The boy nodded and quickly went his way as Jude ran up the steps with two bags and a smile on his face. Walking down the hall, he came to her door. Not wanting to be rude, or anything of the sort, he stopped and knocked before cracking the door open. " Hey." He smiled softly. " Can I come in?"

Rubbing the lotion on her stomach she smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror. It was time to go to the store. Her cravings had got the best of her and she was dying to try the new Pretzel M&M's. Looking up from her large belly she stared at herself in the mirror. Her honey blonde hair pulled up into a clip. Her new maternity shirt on her body, but not without her favorite leather jacket. Lena smiled at herself. She never knew it would be possible to love something she had never met so much, but everytime she thought about her baby girl she could only smile. A fuzzy warm feeling took over her as she turned around to grab her purse her shirt still pushed up over her large stomach. She bent over slowly to grab her sandals. One hand on her dresser the other trying to force her sandal on her foot she heard a knock on her door. "Come in." She called out in a some what jolly voice. She almost shocked herself with how happy she was, but she couldn't always be a downer all the time. Her door cracked open. It was Jude. "Hey." He smiled softly. "Can I come in?"Lena smiled softly. "Yeah sure I was just getting ready to go to the grocery store real quick." She bared her teeth real quick and slipped her other sandal on. She gasped real softly as she noticed she had held her breath. She laughed softly. "Sorry I didn't know how hard it would be to slip sandals on standing up." She smirked softly noticing her stomach was still showing. She blushed softly pulling her shirt down to cover it. "Did you need something? I think I still have one of your t-shirts from when one of my shirts got really uncomfortable one day, you lent it to me. Do you want it back?" She asked in a light tone. She was happy. Sure she was a 17 year pregnant girl with feelings for a guy who was confused about where they stood, but atleast he supported her. Then she looked down and saw the bags. "You bought something? Well let me see silly." She asked softly slinging her bag to her shoulder.

"Yeah sure I was just getting ready to go to the grocery store real quick. Sorry I didn't know how hard it would be to slip sandals on standing up."
He laughed, pushing the door open fuller and setting the bags down. he was just about to offer to help get them on her, but noticed she had finally got it. Smiling bright, he nodded, bouncing a bit as he sat down on the bed.
"Did you need something? I think I still have one of your t-shirts from when one of my shirts got really uncomfortable one day, you lent it to me. Do you want it back?"
Leaning back, he watched as Felix entered the room and sat down by Lena as she stood there. Jude's eyes flicked to Lena as she talked, noticing how her shirt lifted showing her protruding belly. Smiling he shook his head. "No you can keep it." Hand lowering to call over Felix, he gave him a soft pat, carrying on a small conversation with the dog.
"You bought something? Well let me see silly."
He smiled, sitting up. "Well, come sit down with me for a minute. If you still want to go to the store then i'll walk with you." He told her as he leaned over and grabbed the bags. he waited until she was seated (offering his help as she did), before emptying out the contents.
"There's more. It's just... on lay-away." He smiled, rubbing the back of his head a moment as Lena looked over the items.

Lena grinned nodding. "Alright I'll sit. But you better be serious about walking me..." She giggled softly. She held his hand as she lowered herself softly on to the bed. She almost kept his hand in hers, but he pulled away to empty the contents onto her bed. Lena's eyes widened as a smile climbed across her face.
"Oh Jude." She smiled covering her mouth with her hand. She picked up the bear with other her eyes tearing up. "It's all so wonderful. When did you get such a good sense in baby girl toys." She grinned softly looking up at him. It had been too long since her and him could actually sit down and talk with out being upset or mad.
The first time of her being happy while pregnant and she was alread 8 1/2 months pregnant. It was sad to think it was all going to be over soon. Pretty soon she would have to care for this baby when it wasn't inside of her stomach. She shuddered softly, but her smile didn't falter.
"There's more. It's just... on lay-away."
Lena turned to him her brows raised. "How do you have money for all of this Jude?" She asked still stunned by how great all of these things were. "I'm so amazed." She said softly. Lena looked at him her eyes glazed with happiness she leaned forward to kiss him, but just as she got close enough she felt a kick.
"Oh goodness." She pulled back. "Looks like our little girlie needs some attention." Lena placed her hand on her stomach. "Feel." She reached over for his hand. She pulled her shirt up and placed his hand where she was kicking. She began to kick more. "Well it looks like she already can't wait to see you." She giggled softly stealing glances at Jude as he looked down at her stomach.

"Trust me, I'm serious. I'll walk with you." he laughed out. "It's all so wonderful. When did you get such a good sense in baby girl toys." Smiling, he shrugged a bit. "Sophie. She said 'go pink and you can't go wrong'." He chuckled, grabbing the second bag.
"How do you have money for all of this Jude?"
Deep breath in, hold. "Um." Sighing it out a second later, he smiled gently. "My mom. I called her awhile ago." He bite is lip. "She sent a good bit, enough to get a crib and... the usuals. Most of it she ordered herself so, I can't take full credit."
She was amazed. She had said so herself, smiling easily he waited as she drew closer to kiss him. Just that quick, a baby kick interrupted. "Looks like our little girlie needs some attention. Feel. Well it looks like she already can't wait to see you."
Soft smile on his face, his fingers pressed on Lena's stomach feeling that strong thump, thump, thump of the baby's kick. A soft chuckle escaped as he grinned. "I can't wait to see her." His voice was soft as he replied.
"Oh.. right." He chuckled, turning the bag in his hand upside down. Out popped M&M's with pretzel's, bags of chips and all other kinds of junk food. "Wasn't sure what you wanted. So I kinda went on a spree."

"My mom. I called her awhile ago." He bite is lip. "She sent a good bit, enough to get a crib and... the usuals. Most of it she ordered herself so, I can't take full credit."
Lena nodded understanding now. "Well I will have to thank her myself one day." She raised a brow at the thought. Thanking the woman who gave birth to the father of her child could be a very complicated ordeal. She shook the thought. She was just happy to be next to Jude without wanting to die, or hurting him..alot.
The whole time he felt her stomach she noticed how the baby reacted to him. It was like she knew who he was. Lena smiled softly. This could be a good thing. This could pull them together, or in a worst case tear them apart. She doesn't want her daughter to go through what she went through. She rather give her everything she never had.
"I can't wait to see her."
Lena looked up into Jude's eyes and all her worries seemed to melt away. "Neither can I." She said softly fidgeting her hands. He was so sweet, why had he waited until now to make her so happy. She could have used this kind of stuff months ago. She shook the thought. He was amazing and she wasn't going to let her hormones ruin this moment.
"Oh.. right." He chuckled, turning the bag in his hand upside down. Out popped M&M's with pretzel's, bags of chips and all other kinds of junk food. "Wasn't sure what you wanted. So I kinda went on a spree."
Lena's mouth dropped open. She gently threw her arms around his neck and squealed. "I freaking owe you big time!" She screamed pulling back and digging into the M&M's. "You would never guess that pretzels would taste good in M&M's...but it is so-oh-oo...good." She stopped herself from looking more like a fool. She blushed looking up.
"Want one?" She asked softly. She looked up and grinned. "Don't think this is going to get you out of walking with me Jude Carter." She gave a fake stern look to him, but it shed into a smile. "I need someone to hold my purse." She giggled softly and helped herself up. "C'mon I wanna get there and back before it gets dark." She spoke grabbing her cell and slipping it into her purse.

He grabbed the clothing and folded it up quickly as Lena sorted through the candy on the bed. Placing the outfit on the night stand next to the pink panda, he smiled. He was ready. As ready as he could be to have a kid. Sure, he was still only seventeen. Sure, he was still a kid. But, he was trying. He was really trying...
"I freaking owe you big time! You would never guess that pretzels would taste good in M&M's...but it is so-oh-oo...good. Want one?"
He laughed softly as he watched Felix jump up behind Lean and lay down. "No." he shook his head softly. "I ate before I came back." He confessed with a grin. "infact, I think there's a half a milkshake in the fridge." He chuckled.
"Don't think this is going to get you out of walking with me Jude Carter." She gave a fake stern look to him, but it shed into a smile. "I need someone to hold my purse."
"Um, I'll walk with you. But I am certainly not, holding your purse for you. Lena." he laughed. "You hear me? No way." He shook his head, grabbing his hat from Felix before he could snatch it up. "Oh come on, Jude!" Jude snickered, shaking his head. "When I get back. We'll play." he rubbed Felix's ears and took to his feet.
"C'mon I wanna get there and back before it gets dark."
He smirked, hands on his hips. "I'm up. Let's go. Go go go." He joked, ushering her out the door from behind.

Lena was being ushered out the door. "Oh come on not even for a pretty pregnant lady? You wouldn't hold a purse for me?" She gave him a puppy dog grin as she walked out the mansion and towards the street sidewalk. "Pretty please... only while I shop." She giggled softly. Walking down the sidewalk she felt the wind in her hair, and it was a nice cool breeze to match the sun beating down on them.
Without thinking she reached out and grabbed his hand. Walking down the sidewalk she was in a comfortable silence. "Jude promise me I won't be alone during the delivery." She looked up at him her grey orbs holding a sense of vulnerability to them. "Please." She asked softly.
Her mood instantly changed to a lighter happier mood. "But hey i'm sure you'll be near when I go into labor." She giggled softly.

"Oh come on not even for a pretty pregnant lady? You wouldn't hold a purse for me? Pretty please... only while I shop."
He laughed as he followed her out, waiting for Felix to exit the room before closing the door. "No way. Besides this is no big shopping spree. It's just down to the corner market, right?" He smirked, looking over at her. It was nice, just to talk and joke around with her.
"Jude promise me I won't be alone during the delivery."
Felix was trailing behind them, no leash necessary (they had a long talk about streets). His eyes flicked down to their intertwined fingers before smiling softly back up into her eyes. "You won't." He replied softly. "Promise."
"But hey i'm sure you'll be near when I go into labor."
He chuckled, one hand dipping into his pocket. "If anything I'll be right outside walking this mutt." He threw back at her as the sun shined down on them as they turned the corner. "So, what are getting again?"

"No way. Besides this is no big shopping spree. It's just down to the corner market, right?"
"Yeah I know I just thought I would try to make you hold my bag, It would have been a priceless moment." Lena smiled softly walking with her gaze on the ground in front of her. When she noticed he was looking at her she smirked softly and met his gaze. "What do I have something on my face?" She wiped at her face consiously.
"You won't." He replied softly. "Promise."
Lena's eyes held a spark of hope. "Thanks." She said in an almost whisper.
"If anything I'll be right outside walking this mutt." He threw back at her as the sun shined down on them as they turned the corner. "So, what are getting again?"
"Well I have to pick up my vitamins from the pharmacy, and then grab a few groceries. Maybe something healthy and not junk foody, I have been totally pigging out all week." She tossed her hair behind her shoulder, and threw a look at him. The kind of look that got her in this perdicament in the first place.
The corner market wasn't that much further ahead. Scooting closer to Jude she let her hand rest down on Felix's head. She petted his head softly as she walked. "You know Felix maybe you should tell your daddy that he wasn't the only who slept with me." She giggled softly. "It seems dogs make good heated blankets when your cold and no one else is home." She laughed softly scratching behind his ears.

"Yeah I know I just thought I would try to make you hold my bag, It would have been a priceless moment."
He laughed softly, shaking his head. "Nice try, though." He chuckled, looking over at her. "What do I have something on my face?" His smile widened. "Yeah." He answered back, reaching out to touch her cheek. "A smile. Gotta say, it's nice to see a smile on your face."
"Well I have to pick up my vitamins from the pharmacy, and then grab a few groceries. Maybe something healthy and not junk foody, I have been totally pigging out all week."
He nodded, watching as Felix walked around Lena to be in the middle of them. Looking from one to the other and back; as if he was carrying on a conversation with them. "Mkay." Eyes dipping to Felix he smirked. "No, no chocolate for you." "Oh come on kid, lemme live for once in my life."
"You know Felix maybe you should tell your daddy that he wasn't the only who slept with me. It seems dogs make good heated blankets when your cold and no one else is home."
Felix smiled up at him, tongue darting out to the side of his mouth as he leaned into Lena's scratch. "She loves me." Jude shook his head, laughing softly. "She may love you but I'm the one who feeds you daily." He threw back at him with a grin.
Crossing the street towards the store he smiled, jogging ahead to catch the door for everyone. "Felix." He called, giving the dog a look. "Yeah I know, kid. I'm not dense. Though I still say I'm innocent. I have no recollection of eating that turkey."

"A smile. Gotta say, it's nice to see a smile on your face."
Lena blushed softly. "What can I say frowning tends to hurt after a while. I gotta live this up while I can I suppose." She smirked softly. Everything just felt so right. Nothing seemed to be going wrong. She didn't feel the need to cry or pig out on junk food in front of the t.v. all day. She just felt like normal Lena. Or atleast as normal as she could feel with a baby inside of her.
"Mkay." Eyes dipping to Felix he smirked. "No, no chocolate for you."
Lena smirked softly looking down to the dog. She winked down at him. "What your daddy doesn't know won't hurt him." She giggled softly looking up at Jude. He was just so handsome. She could definently see why she fell for him in the first place.
"She may love you but I'm the one who feeds you daily."
"Heyyyy... I feed him too..." Lena smirked. "Well whatever I don't eat." Felix was a sweet dog. She couldn't help, but spoil him. She had never had a pet before. So he was the closest she had ever gotten to having one. And it was great.
They were crossing the street to go into the store and Felix had a head start. It seems a dog walks faster than a pregnant woman can waddle. When she made it to the door Jude was holding it open.
"Felix."
Lena stopped to see look behind her to Felix, but he was already barreling toward Jude. Losing her footing she tripped over and Felix and began to fall. "Shit." She mumbled trying to regain any balance she could.

"Heyyyy... I feed him too..." Lena smirked. "Well whatever I don't eat."
It was all slow motion. "Yeah I know, kid. I'm not dense. Though I still say I'm innocent. I have no recollection of eating that turkey." But as soon as that door opened and the aroma made it's way towards Felix, he took off like a bat outta hell right for the door. Just so happened Lena was in his flight path.
All he could think about was getting her back to her feet before she fell face first into the cement sidewalk. "Shit." He reached out for her, grabbing her by her arm and pulling her towards him. As she landed against his chest, he let out a huff of air. "Are you okay?" He asked softly. "Is the baby hurt?"
She looked to be okay, but he wasn't going to let her go until he knew for certain. "Lena?" He whispered softly, his hand lifting her chin up to look at him.

"Are you okay?" He asked softly. "Is the baby hurt?"
Lena was so shocked. She had almost fell on her stomach, and Jude stopped her. He thinked quick and grabbed her arm. He was going to do anything to keep that baby safe. That was the moment she knew he was going to be a good father. If he wasn't going to be her love, as much as her heart wanted him to be, she was atleast glad he would be a good father with all of his heart.
"Lena?"
He lifted her chin and she just stared at his face for a moment. This felt so right. Why couldn't he hold her like this and just whisper how much he wanted to be with her and the baby for the rest of his life. She shook the thought as soon as she remembered she was supposed to be answering him.
She cleared her throat blinking a couple of times. "Yeah I'm fine." She rubbed her belly. "I believe shes okay too." She looked up into his eyes that held so much concern. "That was almost..." She couldn't even finish her own sentence she was so lost in his eyes.
Leaning forward she closed her eyes softly and let her heart guide her lips to his she kissed him soft and gentle and pulled away after only a moment. Her eyes opened slowly as if she was afraid how he would react.

She was so silent. He was starting to get worried now, she wasn't answering him and had this far off look on her face. "Lena?" He repeated her name again, brows furrowed as she finally blinked and really, truly looked at him.
"Yeah I'm fine." She rubbed her belly. "I believe shes okay too." She looked up into his eyes that held so much concern. "That was almost..."
And then she was leaning forward, pressing her lips to his. And he had to admit, this fit too. How was it possible to care so much about two people, and yet hurt yourself and them in the process? As the soft kiss broke, his eyes fluttered open. Instinctively, his hand gently caressed her cheek, before leaning in and kissing her back just as gentle and sweet.

Lena couldn't believe he was actually kissing her back. Everything inside her mind was telling her to pull away, but her heart was telling her the total opposite. This felt so right. It was supposed to be like this. This was how a family was supposed to be. The child was supposed to be born into the arms of two loving parents who also loved each other.
In her mind she had created this perfect family, this perfect life, but when she opened her eyes and pulled away she couldn't help but think what this meant. The last thing she wanted to do was ask. So Lena being the one who always locked up her feelings. Locked the safe and forced a smile onto her face.
Taking his hand she walked into the store and was headed to the pharmacy, but something inside of her made her stop walking. "Jude." She sighed softly. "As much as I want to just pretend that, that was normal I know I have to ask this or I will never know.." She paused looking down to her belly. "Then I could really end up hurting myself."
She looked into his eyes and felt her heart drop. "What does this mean for us?" She paused biting her lip. "I know it's a big question I just...." She took a deep breath fidgeting with her hands. "I need to know Jude."

Then she was smiling and walking into the store. Glaring at Felix a moment, he pointed to the outdoors. "Stay." He commanded as he followed lean inside. But just as they got into the door, she stopped and turned around and looked at him.
"Jude." She sighed softly. "As much as I want to just pretend that, that was normal I know I have to ask this or I will never know.." She paused looking down to her belly. "Then I could really end up hurting myself."
He nodded, hands plopping into his pockets. Just two nights ago he had this talk with Spyra. He still wasn't sure what this thing was between either of them. Lena and Jude, and then there was Spyra and Jude. They both fit, he cared for both. Why... why couldn't he just have both? But he knew that was selfish, and it would end up hurting someone even more than it was just now.
"What does this mean for us?" She paused biting her lip. "I know it's a big question I just...." She took a deep breath fidgeting with her hands. "I need to know Jude."
He licked his lips, biting on his lower lips as his eyes skimmed the store. A lot of people were starring now. Swallowing hard, one hand reached up and started scratching his head. "I don't know." He whispered. "In all honesty, Lena, I don't know." He paused, eyes locking with hers.
"Her name's Spyra." He said softly. "I know you don't want to hear it, Lena, I know. But I need you to know... that, I don't know."

I don't know." He whispered. "In all honesty, Lena, I don't know."
She nodded softly. Lena understood he didn't know. She stood there trying to think of something to say. Just as she opened her mouth to say that it was fine, that she just needed to know at some point. He opened his mouth and spoke.
"Her name's Spyra." He said softly. "I know you don't want to hear it, Lena, I know. But I need you to know... that, I don't know."
Lena stared at him her eyes feeling with the uptmost sadness. She quickly straightened her exposure. If she knew anything about her heart, it was how to protect it. She kept a straight face, and held all her disappointment and sadness inside.
"Alright. I understand." She said her voice almost sounding as if it were a recording. How could she care for him this much even after she knew he was falling for another girl. She took a deep breath and turned to walk to the pharmacy counter.
Once she got her medication she turned back around to face Jude. A bright smile back on her face. "Okay now to the groceries." She walked past him and towards the bread isle. It was taking all she had to keep her composure. She had to be happy. For herself, the baby...and Jude.

"Alright. I understand."
He wanted to automatically tell her she didn't. Clearly by the tone of her voice he could tell she felt hurt, but she was trying her best to cover it up. Sighing, he watched as she walked over towards the pharmacy counter and got her medication. Jude stood there, eyes evasive as everyone who heard what they had said, was starring right at him.
"Okay now to the groceries."
Why did this have to be... so... like this! "Okay." He didn't sound like himself. Why couldn't it be like it had been just fifteen minutes prior? Where there were smiles, and laughter, and kisses. He knew it was hurting her, and knew he was hurting Spyra. But had no one noticed it was killing him as well? Sighing deeply, he followed her around, until he told her he'd just meet her outside.
He was leaning against the building, Felix sitting at his feet, leaning into the petting Jude was giving him.

Lena sighed softly as he left her in the store alone. She shook her head beating herself up. She should have just shut up, trusted her instincts....but no she had to ruin everything. She got everything she wanted and made her way to the check out. Once she was done she made her way outside. She opened the door and saw him standing there petting Felix.
Lena looked at him softly and made her way over to him. "I'm finished. Walk me back?" She asked softly. She grabbed his hand that was already tense. She sighed softly. "Look can we just forget I asked okay. I don't care how many girls there are I just want to atleast be happy with the father of my child." She paused. "Even if the relationship is only friends. Atleast I still get to say I know you. I don't want my child going through anything I went through."
This was alot to lay on him at once. She knew this, but she didn't care. For once she actually wanted to say everything she was thinking. And that's just what she did. "So for once can we pretend everything is okay...kinda like we were earlier today. For me...please." She asked softly her eyes tearing up, but no tears falling.
She got on her tippy toes and kissed his cheek. "C'mon its starting to get dark."
