She was enjoying the new prius she had gotten just a week ago. Not like she drove it often considering this was New York and all, but today, something told her to ride around in it, despite the traffic. Speakers blaring Starstukk, her hands tapped on the wheel, a smile on her face as she turned right onto the main street. Lyra popped into her head, and to her dismay, things haven't changed. She'd tried so many times to get to know the girl better, but it seemed Lyra had a wall up that was blocking only her. She made a mental note of the reasons why Lyra would hate her, and reasons why Lyra should get to know her. Sadly, the hated list was longer. Her mouth twisted as she came up onto the hotel Corona was staying at. At the last possible second, she turned the corner and found a place to park. Turning off the engine, she grabbed her purse and headed out. She'd meant to do this along time ago, but the school had been behind schedule lately, which meant alot of paperwork for Evan. Shaking the reasons of why she never made it, she opened the door to the hotel and went to the sign in desk. " Can I help you?" Evan smiled, setting her purse on the counter. " Yes, I'm looking for Corona Harley--I mean Whitman?" Evan inquired. The woman typed into the computer and smiled softly. " Room 303" Evan nodded, grabbing her purse. " Thank you." Walking to the elevator she hit the button for the third floor and waited. Once there, she walked down the hallway, until she found the room. She stood there a moment, her lips sucked in before biting on her lower lip. " Okay, you can do this.. just knock." She whispered to herself, her hand reaching out and knocking on the door three times.

Lately, Corona's life had become practically perfect. It had been a week since she talked to Shames and apparently, he was far more busy with his classes than she was so she had plenty of time to spend with Lyra. She had also managed to get this hotel room; it was far nicer than the one she had been staying in before. But most of all, she was all head-over-heels about a man...her man...her Nick. Sure, they still hadn't gotten to "that" point, but she got butterflies just thinking about being with him. He made her happy. He actually liked her; even though she had died once and she was a little eccentric.
Not to mention, Lyra adored him as well. They had been on a few outings since Lion King, just the three of them, and the trips usually went pretty well. It was nice, knowing someone who liked her daughter that didn't participate in the making of her. God.....Shames....of all people he could've chosen....he had to pick that selfish girl. Staring into the mirror of her vanity, Corona sighed and then stood up.
Today, she had absolutely nothing planned. But, who could blame one for getting up and getting ready for the day? Cor was about to pick up the phone when she heard three knocks at the door. She felt her stomach flip. How adorable! He decided to surprise me with an unexpected visit! Yes, her mind was swimming of that man. Which was why she hurried to open the door, smiling brightly as she began to speak, "Nicolas! How wonderful of you to..." Her voice faded along with her cheerful expression as her brown eyes gazed upon not Nicolas, but Evangeline. Clearing her throat, she looked blankly upon the woman as she finished quietly, "...surprise me."

"Nicolas! How wonderful of you to..."
Nick? Nicolas, Nicolas? Her mind was already reeling at that first sentence and she'd even said much since. "...surprise me." Evan smiled softly, one brow lifted as she softly said; "Surprise...?" A light chuckle escaped soon after. But it didn't last long, a sigh pushed from her lips as she found herself fumbling with the end of her shirt. "Corona.. I'm sorry to interrupt."
She cleared her throat a little, shifting on her feet. "I thought maybe we... could talk?" She asked softly, brows slightly furrowed. Truth be told, Corona and Evan never did get along. Not that Evan could blame Corona for hating her. After all, I stole her husband; despite the fact she was dead...
A soft sigh pushed from her lips as her hand raked through her hair. Her eyes shifted to the side, and before she knew it, she had said something she didn't expect to say. "I'm sorry..."

Cor smirked a bit at her little attempt to be amusing. But the smile only cracked for a millisecond before her jaw was set again. "I thought maybe we... could talk?" "About my daughter? Did Shames finally talk to you? Good, because he needed to. And you weren't interrupting anything...I was...just about to...call a friend." She said rather rushed and then began to open the door a bit. "But yes, talking would be nice...I was waiting how long it would take for him to finally tell you how much this has been troubling her."
After all, I stole her husband; despite the fact she was dead... Corona's eyes seemed to darken at those thoughts. She had forgotten to not listen in on other people's minds, but she couldn't help it. Sure enough, she thought right back. Bloody damn right you did! And like hell you're sorry. I don't fall for that bloody shit. Apparently, her mind was angrier than she had thought originally. However, as if nothing had been shouted in her mind, she sighed and pulled the door open, inviting Evan in.

"About my daughter? Did Shames finally talk to you? Good, because he needed to. And you weren't interrupting anything...I was...just about to...call a friend."
Right, a friend... Biting her lip, she shook her head. "Shames has been busy. He told me he met with you and you two talked, but... we haven't had much time together lately.." Because I'm stuck doing loads and loads of fun paperwork...
"But yes, talking would be nice...I was waiting how long it would take for him to finally tell you how much this has been troubling her."
"Like I said, we haven't talked much. Just short phone conversations here and there when we have time. But, I know all of this is troubling her, even without talking to Shames." As Corona opened the door further she smiled softly. "Thank you." She said softly, entering the room.
It's time... Taking in a deep breath, everything just seemed to rush out. "I never meant to hurt her, or you, Corona. I know you might think I'm just telling you this for whatever reason, but it's the truth. Looking back on all of it... Yes, I could have handled it differently than I did, and I regret not doing more to reach out to Lyra... to explain it to her..."

Corona had already walked on in and was putting away a few things in the small kitchen that the hotel provided. She opened the fridge and looked in. "Yes, he has been busy...I noticed his touretts have kinda returned full throttle. Anyway, would you like anything? Water? Pink Lemonade?" She asked as she pulled out a pitcher of pink lemonade and began pouring herself a glass. Cor paused when Evan began spurting out words.
"I never meant to hurt her, or you, Corona. I know you might think I'm just telling you this for whatever reason, but it's the truth. Looking back on all of it... Yes, I could have handled it differently than I did, and I regret not doing more to reach out to Lyra... to explain it to her..."
Brown eyes locked on the opposing and she took a small sip of lemonade before her hand gripped the counter. "That would've been smart of you. That's probably why she's so scared of you. I mean, Lyra doesn't even mention Shames much anymore. She seems to feel distant...like she doesn't belong there." Corona tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and then took a deep breath. She then continued, "A five year old can't comprehend relationships so well...especially after losing a parent. To her, you're pretty much just some lady that took...ahem...adopted yourself into her world and her family without warning."

"Yes, he has been busy...I noticed his touretts have kinda returned full throttle. Anyway, would you like anything? Water? Pink Lemonade?"
She took a seat on one of the chairs in the room at the small table. "No thank you." She answered softly, head bowed lowly as she bit on her lower lip. You could slice the tension in the air like butter. Deep breaths... deep breaths. "I don't know, when he's around me they're seldom. Even if they're adorable." She smiled softly.
"That would've been smart of you. That's probably why she's so scared of you. I mean, Lyra doesn't even mention Shames much anymore. She seems to feel distant...like she doesn't belong there."
She stayed silent, just listening as Corona went on about how Lyra felt. "I know." She whispered. Her leg began vibrating, digging in her shorts, she pulled out her phone, seeing a text message from her brother. Shaking her head, she turned the phone off, promising to fill him in later.
"A five year old can't comprehend relationships so well...especially after losing a parent. To her, you're pretty much just some lady that took...ahem...adopted yourself into her world and her family without warning."
Some lady that took her father away. Say it Corona, I know that's what you were going to say... She thought to herself. "Corona, I can sit here an apologize a thousand times over, but it won't turn time back. I can't re-do it, as much as I want to. All I can do now is admit that I did this wrong, and to say that I'm sorry. And... hopefully, try to make it right."

"I don't know, when he's around me they're seldom. Even if they're adorable."
Her eyes widened and then the drink slipped from her hand, shattering upon the floor. Corona's eye twitched a bit and she grabbed herself a new glance, almost as if she was in a trance. "Right." She muttered to herself, trying to keep her temper down. That bastard.....bloody bloody bastard!
Corona poured herself more lemonade, not even bothering to clean up the broken glass and spilled lemonade on the floor. She'd do it later, when she could actually function properly. Looking up at Evan as if nothing had happened, she sighed and listened to her speak until she heard her thoughts. "No." She said with a stern voice. "That was not what I was going to say."
She cleared her throat and played a bit with charm bracelet, causing herself to smile as her voice softened, "I have Nick....and he and Lyra get along...and who knows, I could very well have a new husband soon." Obviously, Shames wasn't much of one if he decided to forget me the moment I died...and move onto some younger bimbo who has no clue children have feelings too.....idiot girl.
Corona shook the thoughts away and looked up, lips pursed for a moment before she lowered her eyes. "I'm not the one you need to fix things with. Besides, you think I'm mentally insane and desperate. You can't really fix things with me, until you fix things with my daughter. You need to be motherly, not....girlfriendly. Sure, you have never been a mother cause you chose otherwise...but I mean, have you ever bought her an ice cream bar? A toy? Read her a book? Tucked her in? Pushed her on a swing? Made her laugh? Smile? Acted like you cared about her existence truly? Have you even bothered to try!?"

The moment the glass broke, Evan jumped up and out of her seat. "Right." She watched as Corona acted like nothing had happened, despite the evidence of broken glass on the floor. She opened her mouth, about to offer to clean it up, but quickly shut her mouth before anything could escape.
"No." She said with a stern voice. "That was not what I was going to say."
Evan's head quickly lifted, eyes locking on Corona. She had all but forgotten that Corona could read minds. She felt like her privacy had been invaded.. Dipping her head low, she simply stayed quiet.
"I have Nick....and he and Lyra get along...and who knows, I could very well have a new husband soon."
The moment that name left Corona's lips, it sent a chain reaction of memories. The day they fought, how she fell down the stairs and all he had done was walked away. "YOU THINK YOU HAD IT BAD BEFORE? WAIT TILL I GET MY HANDS ON YOU! I WILL KILL YOU!' Shivers went up her spine as her eyes closed tightly.
"I'm not the one you need to fix things with. Besides, you think I'm mentally insane and desperate. You can't really fix things with me, until you fix things with my daughter. "
Evan's head shot up once again. "I never said you were mentally insane and desperate!" She quickly snapped back, and just as quickly as it left, she regretted it. Biting down hard enough to draw blood from her lip, she sat there, trying to keep her anger down to a minimum.
Chose otherwise? The words repeated over and over in her mind. She didn't even realize she was crying until the tears hit her hand. Her head still bowed, she made no effort to ipe them away. "You think what you want Corona... you always will. You see me as the bad person, I get that. I don't blame you, if I were in your shoes, I'd feel the same. But here's the difference. I wouldn't stand there, poking at your dark past, saying this and that about you. But it doesn't matter, does it?" She cried out softly through a bit of laughter.
"You're right, but then again, your wrong. You can't possibly know how many times I tried to get close to that girl, and how many times she simply turned me down. Your right, I'm not a mother. But your wrong, in a way..." She took in a deep breath and sighed. "But it doesn't matter, does it? You'll hear and think what you want to." Grabbing her purse, she took to her feet.
"I'm sorry I came... I see that even now, you can't put the past aside to help me help Lyra." Her motuh slanted, head to the side. "If you want to talk about my son, then atleast call him by name." She paused then, a tear sliding down her cheek. "Stephen."

"I'm sorry I came... I see that even now, you can't put the past aside to help me help Lyra."
"If you were me....it would be difficult to put aside the past too. Have you ever died? And hoped you'd end up happy and instead get yourself dragged down to hell? Sure, you fell down the stairs, but have you ever fallen off a roof? I've had a husband before....a husband who, coincidentally, also pushed me downstairs...and I lost a perfectly healthy baby because of that. But I'm pretty sure he didn't whip you often with a belt and I'm sure you don't have the scars from the whippings still there on your back to remind you." Corona said, beginning to tear up with fear already locked in her eyes. She worried about even speaking of Jacque. It was as if he was going to come back again. But with Jacque, there was also Azrael.
"Evan, my husband, Jacque Harley, followed me over to America, kidnapped, chained and beat me in a creepy old abandoned warehouse....for thirty days, Evan. Don't even get me started on Azrael's torture methods when I was swayed freakishly over to the darkside. But there's something that both you and Shames don't know. That day I fell off the roof...the day I died, I lost the next addiction to my family....and I never even got to tell Shames the happy news that day."
Walking around the counter, she walked over to the small table, glass crunching under her bare feet, but she obviously didn't care. She had left her high heels over beside the couch. Finally, she stumbled into the chair, hand gripping her hair as if in pain. Of course, she was in great emotional pain, but she hadn't noticed her foot was bleeding.
"And what did I get for it? Pain, Torture...hell. And I finally get back and some girl has persuaded him into forgetting me and giving up hope...on me." She finished, now sobbing. "I promised....I promised him....I'd come back....I promised....and he...he...he didn't believe me! And now my daughter keeps asking me 'When is the lady gonna give Daddy back?'." Corona put a hand to her face, wiping her eyes and then looking up at Evan.
"And I think to myself, Corona, you are the most terrible person in the world because you died on your family and someone took advantage of that. And all of this is all my fault. If I wouldn't have died, Lyra would cry for her dad...you wouldn't be here...and everyone and everything would be like the world I left. And it...it's just so stressful Evan, that I can't fix it. I can't go back in time and warn Shames a little sooner, or hold onto the roof a little tighter...anything I do....I'm sorry, I'm just one of those terrible people that cause bad things to happen."
Corona broke down completely there, crying deeply into her hands while the once perfectly aligned makeup began to drip down her pale pink cheeks. She couldn't believe she just told Evangeline everything that she had been feeling throughout this life. It was clear to anyone that Corona only acted tough around Evan, because she didn't want the girl to know the truth. She didn't want to look weak in front of her. But now, she had let down the wall and caved in right in front of Evan.
"If it weren't for Lyra....and Nicolas in my life....I probably would've starved myself to death when I came back. I mean....look at me! I'm horrid. I'm living in a hotel...I can't cook anything...all I have is takeout food in that fridge. I can't answer Lyra's questions, I lost my two unborn children during my lifetime....my first lifetime. I'm doing terrible on my second lifetime. It's all...it's all my fault, Evan. I'm sorry.....I'm so....so sorry....but, I guess...I'm cursed!" She was bawling now. She had let everything out all at the same time with astonishing results.

Evan stood there, silent as can be as Corona spilled more and more about her past. She never knew any of it, but then again, she supposed she never wanted to. Her head remained bowed, eyes evasive. "And what did I get for it? Pain, Torture...hell. And I finally get back and some girl has persuaded him into forgetting me and giving up hope...on me." Despite the tears running down her face, she found her hands balling into fists. "You weren't there, Corona. He never forgot you. He talked about you, almost daily." She said softly, her head slowly lifting to look at Corona. "And how dare you sit there and tell me I persuaded him to go out with me! Is that what you did when you two started out, Corona? What makes you think I did? Because I didn't and for the thousandth time, you can't help who you fall for!"
"he didn't believe me! And now my daughter keeps asking me 'When is the lady gonna give Daddy back?'."
She sucked in some air, hurt written all over her face. "Is that what Lyra really thinks? Or is this you putting thoughts in her head?" She suddenly felt like she was on a roller-coaster, and if she continued on this path; she'd end up physically sick.
"And I think to myself, Corona, you are the most terrible person in the world because you died on your family and someone took advantage of that.
"There you go again!" She screamed. "Persuade, stole, took advantage..." Tears streamed down her face as she words gushed out of her mouth. "WE FELL IN LOVE, CORONA! IT'S NOT A CRIME! I'm sorry that it happened the way it did... but I can't change that. All I can do is look him in the eye every time I see him and tell him I love him, and that no matter what happens, I will continue to love him."
"If it weren't for Lyra....and Nicolas in my life--"
"Yeah... watch it around Nicolas. I'm not saying he can't be a good guy when he wants to, Corona. But he has a dark past, one that is intertwined with mine. He's abusive. Emotional, and psychical. I don't want to see you or Lyra get hurt by him..." Evan said softly.
"Evan. I'm sorry.....I'm so....so sorry....but, I guess...I'm cursed!"
Evan was quiet a moment. before dropping her purse on the table and walking over into the kitchen. She bent down, and started picking up the larger shards of glass. "Maybe you are... Maybe I am too..." She paused, sniffing as she stood up and thew them in the trashcan. "Y'know, our backgrounds are alot alike...." Her face scrunched up as she continued to clean up the glass. "So tell me this, if you were in my shoes, all those years ago; enduring beatings after beatings, and then being shoved down a flight of stairs... would you have honestly kept the baby; knowing that the same thing could happen to him, that has happened to you?"
Slowly, she turned around, her face completely red. "It haunts me, corona... Every day. I wake every morning, hearing a baby crying and knowing he's not there...." She sobbed.

"Is that what Lyra really thinks? Or is this you putting thoughts in her head?"
Corona stood up sharply with a dark look of pain in her face. It was as if he had been shot by a rifle. Her fists clenched at her sides as she snapped, "DO NOT accuse me of lying to my own daughter!! I'm a far better mother than you know and you especially, are in no place to--" She let out a deep breath as she felt the pain surge up her leg from her foot. Cor decided not to step forward. Swallowing hard, she looked down as she began. "She says that every single time I tuck her into bed. I tell her daddy is still there and she says the same reply; 'Not around her.' What do you say to that? I can't say anything to that! You say you try, but Lyra really isn't a hard person to get a long with. So what is it you tried? A simple walk in the park? A friendly hello? If you really tried, you'd care about her as if she was your own daughter. "
"Yeah... watch it around Nicolas. I'm not saying he can't be a good guy when he wants to, Corona."
"Why do you come here to bring me down? To upset me? What does that achieve for you? You come and tell me that you and Shames are in love and it will never change, and then you say the guy that I am with is a monster. Do you get satisfaction on destroying relationships? Did you ever think that you might have been the problem there? Did you ever think that it wasn't Nicolas? Nicolas has been nicer than nice. He took me in when I was upset, alone and needed somebody, just like Shames did to you. Face it. It was not him. It was you."
But he has a dark past, one that is intertwined with mine. He's abusive. Emotional, and psychical.
"Do not say anything rude about my relationships. Nicolas has put his past actions behind him and now he has someone who loves him and would take his thoughts into mind before doing anything; Me! He's given me happiness and comfort, and he's given Lyra those things too. Nicolas is not this abusive, cold-blooded monster you keep saying he is. I left you and Shames alone, hell, I even left my own house! I think I deserve some respect in the relationship department, considering as you practically stole mine while I was dead and being tortured in Hell. Do not come here to bash on my relationship with Nicolas just because you didn't make the cut!!"
Cor gave a firm nod and sat back down in her chair, biting her lip for the pain was getting to her fast. "Yes. Of course. Because it's a baby. It has every right in the world to be born. Unless you were physically incapable to sustain life; that is the only excuse. I was going to have Jacque's baby...and we were both excited. It was an entirely healthy baby, already five months along....and then he found out about my secret powers...and then it was dead. I ask you this; why did you give it a name if you were going to get an abortion?"
"It haunts me, corona... Every day. I wake every morning, hearing a baby crying and knowing he's not there...."
"So you begrudge Lyra's existence?! You do realize that if Shames marries you, that makes her your daughter in law. So GET OVER IT!! YOU LOST YOUR FIRST AND NOW YOU HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE AT PARENTING! Why did you even get into all this when you knew his past? You didn't consider he lost a wife and his daughter lost her mother right before her eyes? Adults overcome that loss quickly, but I highly doubt Lyra knew what was going on when mommy disappeared into the ground. I mean...she wasn't even put through the funeral process because it was supernatural and there was no body." Corona said, stumbling over to a box of bandages to take a look at her foot. Oh god.......that doesn't look good. She quickly wrapped the bandage around her foot and then looked up at Evan.
"Why does it seem as though you're afraid of trying because you didn't give Stephan a chance? Give Lyra a chance, for heaven's sake! There is no reason for Shames to have to juggle his time over two people. Lyra won't come to you because she's scared of you and confused on where exactly you fit. I've explained it to her the best I can, but if this keeps going...Lyra will have to stay with me most of the time. As much as it would pain Shames, I don't want her in an environment that makes upset and uncomfortable. Then Shames can visit her as much as he wants without you coming along for the visit...unless you can gain her trust. Of course, her fear could just be because she doesn't remember how I died exactly, just that you somehow ended up in her place. But I SWEAR if she asks me to bring her daddy back one more time....I'll have no choice but to forbid you to see my little girl. I don't think you want that."

"She says that every single time I tuck her into bed. I tell her daddy is still there and she says the same reply; 'Not around her.' What do you say to that? I can't say anything to that! "
Evan's eyes closed, head low as she stopped picking up the glass. Not around her... The words repeated over in her head, as tears formed. A hand went to her forehead before she covered her face completely. How are we suppose to be any kind of family when Lyra thinks that? Am I that bad of-- No... She shook her head softly, barely catching most of the things Corona was saying.
"Why do you come here to bring me down? To upset me? What does that achieve for you? You come and tell me that you and Shames are in love and it will never change, and then you say the guy that I am with is a monster."
"You don't know him, like I know him." She whispered softly. She wanted to go on about how long Corona has truly known him, but knew it would just fan the flames even more. And this is not why she had come here. She didn't come here to argue with Corona... She was beginning to question why she came her to begin with.
"Why does it seem as though you're afraid of trying because you didn't give Stephan a chance? Give Lyra a chance, for heaven's sake! There is no reason for Shames to have to juggle his time over two people. Lyra won't come to you because she's scared of you and confused on where exactly you fit."
"You don't know, Corona..." She whispered, as she picked up the last bit of glass and thew it away. She was trying so hard not to cry. She gripped the counter, so hard that her knuckles turned white. "Even if I told you the entire story, I douubt you would believe it. Because, in your eyes; Nic is this knight in shining armor... He was like that to me too, once upon a time..."
She slowly turned around to face her. "And the only way you'll hear the truth is from Nic, and I know he won't tell you... because he doesn't want you to know..." She walked over, grabbing her phone and turning it back on. "But... I guess it's worth a try, huh?" She wiped at her face, and brought the phone to her ear. Waiting a moment for him to answer, she sighed. "Nic.... How do you think I got the number? Exactly... No. I'm at Corona's hotel room..." She paused, looking over at Corona. "Yes...." A moment of silence and then she closed the phone.

He was enjoying his day, like most days. Sitting in-front of the TV, watching some movie about some girl getting domestically abused. He had to admit, it brought back a lot of memories of Evan and him, and their long and dark past. Knee-deep in thoughts of the past, he could faintly hear his cell ringing. " Hello?" He answered softly with a smile, thinking it was Corona. "Nic...." " How did you get this number?" "How do you think I got the number?"" Four-one-one?" He guessed, with a smirk. "Exactly." He shook his head, he knew her so well. " So what, you want me back or something, Evan; cause you know I'm with Corona..." He grinned. No. I'm at Corona's hotel room..." " Mhm, and what do you want from me? Oh, lemme guess. You're going down memory lane with her, and you want someone she can believe to back-up your stories?" He sighed. " Well?" His fingers tapped impatiently on his leg. "Yes...." He nodded slowly. " Can't promise everything will go the way you want it to, but alright... I'm coming over." Just like that, and she hung up. " Bitch." He muttered, as he took to his feet and grabbed his keys. " Well, no time like the present to make my move..."

Even if I told you the entire story, I douubt you would believe it. Because, in your eyes; Nic is this knight in shining armor... He was like that to me too, once upon a time..
"BLOODY HELL!! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU!!" She screamed finally. She was not about to hear Evan sit and bring her down. Already, the plates & lamps in the room had begun to levitate with her anger. "I am lucky I have morales and emotional strength or I probably would've already committed suicide because of you. Right now, you're the abusive one! Verbal abuse! Telling me my relationship with Nicolas is fake. Bloody damn you, Evangeline!! I am NOT going to let you tell me that I don't deserve to have anyone in this world. Because I do. HELLO! YOU STOLE MY HUSBAND!!! Yes, stole. Because stealing is doing something without permission. More like robbed. You robbed me of my husband. You also broke my family...and now you're trying to destroy my future. And it's All because you're jealous you can't get close to Lyra. All because Nicolas actually cares about me. Besides, Whether Nic is a monster or not, WHY WOULD YOU EVEN BLOODY FUCKING CARE?!?"
She had a very good point. Why would Evangeline even care? She didn't care enough to let go of Shames when Corona came back even though they were not in love yet. She didn't care enough to explain to Lyra the first day she met her what was going on. She didn't even care to leave Cor's relationships alone and keep her nose out of things. Corona stomped towards Evangeline with fire in her eyes.
"And the only way you'll hear the truth is from Nic, and I know he won't tell you... because he doesn't want you to know..."
"THEN LET HIM LIE!! LET ME ENJOY HIS COMPANY LONGER! I DESERVE HAPPINESS TOO, YOU KNOW! I am close to feeling love for him...and I believe he is too. And he makes me feel safe. And Lyra....Lyra has gotten to the point where she wants to spend most of her time with him. Hell! You're probably the one who is lying. You don't want me to have any happiness ever, do you? What the bloody hell is wrong with you!?! Are you trying to mess up again, Evan?! It is clear that you cannot be pitied...nor will I ever forgive you for coming in here to simply upset me...for it is clear that was your master plan because I upset you before. Revenge is not the answer, Evangeline. It never is the answer. I never took revenge on you, though I had many reasons, didn't I? In conclusion, you are simply a Bitch who needs to learn her place. So you can tell Shames, Lyra is going to stay with me now and he can visit whenever he wishes as long as you are NO WHERE near her. I mean, at least a fifty foot radius away from her. At all times! And you can tell him that YOU were the Bitch to Blame!!"
"NOW, GET OUT OF MY HOTEL ROOM, DAMMIT!!!" At that moment, a hovering plate went rocketing towards Evangeline, missing her head only by half a foot. It was serious now. Corona had finally lost it with this woman. At that point, her voice was close to gone and she was near fainting because of all this shouting. Corona looked more sick than angry really and she fell onto the couch and sniffled in a teary whisper. "Just get out....please..."

"All because Nicolas actually cares about me. Besides, Whether Nic is a monster or not, WHY WOULD YOU EVEN BLOODY FUCKING CARE?!?"
She knew Corona was beyond upset. But her yelling like this was only going to end up with the police knocking at her door. She bit her lip, standing there listening as she went on, and screamed and repeated most of what they had already discussed. "Why wouldn't I care?" She said softly, face as serious as can be. "Do you know how lucky you are to have Lyra? The only reason I'm doing this is for you, corona. I know you may not see it now, but I do not want you to end up where I ended up with Nic. Hospitalized, beaten to the point I had slipped into a coma. I don't want you to go through that, I don't want Lyra to lose you on top of her thinking she has lost Shames."
"You don't want me to have any happiness ever, do you? What the bloody hell is wrong with you!?! Are you trying to mess up again, Evan?! It is clear that you cannot be pitied...nor will I ever forgive you for coming in here to simply upset me...for it is clear that was your master plan because I upset you before. Revenge is not the answer, Evangeline. It never is the answer. I never took revenge on you, though I had many reasons, didn't I? In conclusion, you are simply a Bitch who needs to learn her place."
"Quite the opposite. I want more than anything for you to be happy. For Lyra, Shames, and yes, even Nic; to be happy. Maybe being concerned about your welfare has made me a bitch, but it's a title I'll wear with pride. Cause at the end of the day, I can tell myself that I tried, that you know the truth and despite that, still wanted to love Nic."
"NOW, GET OUT OF MY HOTEL ROOM, DAMMIT!!!"
Evan took in a deep breath and grabbed her purse. "Just because your mad at me, Corona, doesn't mean you should take it out on Shames." She said simply as she turned around and opened the door to leave. She suddenly stopped in her tracks, eyes locking with Nic's.

"NOW, GET OUT OF MY HOTEL ROOM, DAMMIT!!!"
Nic's brows furrowed as he walked down the hall. No doubt that was Corona shouting. He rubbed at his temples, standing there at the door. "Je viens de le faire à travers ce.." He muttered out with a sigh. Suddenly the door opened and his eyes met with Evan's, before looking past her at Corona. He knew she was upset, just by looking at her. But as he looked back at Evan, he was expecting a glare, a sneer; anything but tears.
"Would someone mind telling me, just what in the hell is going on?" He asked, moving past Evan. She went to leave and he quickly reached out and grabbed her wrist so tight she winced. "You're not going anywhere. Now close the door." He stared hard at her before she actually done what he had said.
"Corona..." He let go of Evan's wrist and quickly walked over to her. "Here, have a seat..." He told her softly, as he made her sit down. Once she was seated, he could see blood and broken glass on the floor. "What the hell did you do to her?" he glared over at Evan. "Nothing. She dropped a glass, I picked up most of it. Undoubtedly there are still small shards over there."
Nic's head turned back, looking at Corona. "Is that right? She didn't do anything to you?" He asked softly as he took the rim of his shirt and ripped it off to wrap around her ankle. "Sit still, lemme wrap this around your ankle to stop the bleeding."
As he did so, his head lifted back up, offering a soft smile to Corona. "Suppose I'm the mediator in this conversation, hm?" He said softly, touching her cheek gently as he finished with her ankle. "So, tell me what I've missed. Perhaps I can help."

"Just because your mad at me, Corona, doesn't mean you should take it out on Shames."
"Well, just because Nicolas cares about me, doesn't mean you have to come and try to slander our relationship!" Corona hissed before she wiped her eyes. Finally, the lamps & plates stopped hovering and landed gently in their place. At that moment, she saw Nicolas come in. The moment he arrived there seemed to be a new air to Corona. Her eyes were brighter than ever and she just seemed, calm. It was like she had been in Shames's presence.
"Is that right? She didn't do anything to you?"
"Other than make me exceedingly emotionally upset, she hasn't done much to me. I simply got a bit startled by one of her statements and dropped a glass, and then accidentally walked through it once she had rendered me emotionally unstable." Corona said plainly with a sigh. All of this was beginning to give her a headache. However, she was quite relieved that Nicolas was helping her though. He truly was the mediator in this conversation. She smiled softly as he touched her cheek, completely forgetting Evangeline was there until he asked what happened.
"So, tell me what I've missed. Perhaps I can help."
He had missed a lot. Corona sighed and took a deep breath before she spoke. "I was just about to call you when Evangeline showed up wanting to talk about situation which has currently been troubling Lyra lately. The conversation did not go all too well and I told Evangeline how if it weren't for you and Lyra, I probably wouldn't be alive right now. And then, Evan had the nerve to insult me and you, our relationship and everything, but mostly you, practically describing you as some brainless monster and whatnot. " She paused and looked into his eyes with a soft, loving smile. She touched his face gently with her hand."Which I know you aren't a monster, and if you were, it wouldn't be your fault in the first place. Besides, we can get through just about anything together, so it doesn't matter at all."
Her facial expressions then changed back to annoyed when she continued the story, "Well anyway, it escalated to the point where Evan became desperate to crush any relationships I manage to establish with anyone on the planet, just because she is incapable of establishing a relationship with Lyra; so she called you to try to back up her slandering nonsense about you. I told her to leave cause I am tired of her attempts to ruin my life, especially now that I got a life up and running again.....and then you came. And boy, is it grand to see you, Nic!"

And there went prince charming. Evan's eyes closed, head dipping low before shaking softly side to side. And cue Corona's rant and rave; right on schedule. She sucked in her lips, lifting her head and looking away from them. Yes, because clearly she's the bad person in all of this...
Her wrist was burning. Looking down, she could see a small bruise forming already. A sigh pushed from her lips as she tried to think up an excuse to tell everyone. No more excuses. She thought. No more hiding, no more lying. Not anymore.
As Corona finished, Evan shook her head. Nic mentioned something about her side of the story and she shook her head again. "Nope." She was fed up, and anyone could tell it by her voice. Arms crossed over her chest, she stood there; beyond pissed.
"I'm done. I'll deal with this how I want to deal with this. Whatever, it doesn't matter." Her eyes locked with Nic's as she opened the door. "Don't." She said softly as she slowly walked out.

Well, that was a lot to take in. He noded at all the right parts, but for the most part he let everything fly over his head. Did he care? No. Cause that's how he was. He played his part of acting like the knight in shining armor. But was he, really?
Fuck no. "What's your side?" He asked, looking to Evan. "Nope." A brow raised as he looked at her. "What do you mean, nope?" He questioned. "I'm done. I'll deal with this how I want to deal with this. Whatever, it doesn't matter."
He sighed heavily, shoulders slumping slightly. He watched as she grabbed the door, trying to make her escape. Their eyes locked, and a moment passed between them. "Don't." As soon as she stepped out, he was on his feet.
Without a word to Corona, he went after her. She was still walking when he closed the door behind her. "Evan." He called, quickly catching up to her. "You can't leave." He laughed.
"I mean, you called me." His hand reached out, grabbing at her wrist again, stopping her in her tracks. "You're not leaving." He growled out slowly as his grasp on her tightened.
