"Yes, I understand,"
She smiled, closing her eyes a moment as relief set over. She didn't want it too seem like anything else--but the truth. She felt the need to still protect them, and besides; she had yet to get the message to move on to another charge. Therefor; she was meant to be with them.
Her head turned, watching as Oliver walked over, Maura towing right in line. She smiled softly, looking to both of them. "Baby?" His eyes were planted on her. "Luna would like to talk with you. Is that okay?" She watched as he slowly nodded. She shared a look with Emma. "Can we..?"
She tilted her head towards the swings, where it would be just her and Oliver. Not too far away, just like before. But enough for it to be private; between hopeful again friends.

To reassure him, she pressed a lingering kiss to his forehead before gesturing to the swings. "Go on with her. I'll be right here." Luna didn't need any more of a confirmation than that, she figured, taking Maura by her side. The girl squirmed, wanting to know what was going on but wisely keeping her lips together. Everyone else seemed to be sad and quiet, and she didn't want to upset the thin layer of temperance that had befallen them.
Shuffling on his feet as he always did when he was uncomfortable, he listened to Mommy, eyes lifting to Luna before leading the way to the swings. If he was going to do this, he'd do it with dignity. He didn't want to cry, he didn't know if he wanted Luna. She wasn't Luna anymore. He wasn't mad at her for being in a costume--he was mad because he lost a best friend.

"Go on with her. I'll be right here."
She smiled gently to Emma, her eyes on Oliver as they began walking over. The entire time was filled with silence. Her head bowed slightly as she got closer. Sitting down in one of the swings, she patted the one next to her for Oliver with a smile. "Sit with me?" She asked gently.
Once he was, she swayed a bit on the swing. "I remember us coming here, and playing in the grass." She smiled wide. "You'd pull up grass and dump it all over me." She laughed, grinning down to him. "D'you remember that?"

((I agree. ^^))
It took some effort, but eventually he made it up onto the swing, using a little hoisting along with a bounce to fully adjust himself. His hands clung to the chains that kept the swing steady, and he tried kicking back and forth to get himself going. He didn't have very good balance yet, but he liked trying.
Oliver's eyes were on his shoes, watching them whoosh up and kick the sky, then swoop back down and skid across the ground. The repetition comforted him, and he was brave enough to come up with an answer.
"Yeah," he piped up, voice brighter than even he had expected.

"Yeah,"
She smiled, looking over at him, an arm reaching around and giving his swing a soft lift off. "Yeah?" She grinned even more. "Y'know I loved those times we had, Ollie. How we were the best of friends." She grinned. "All those days, side by side. Partners." She said softly, tilting her head as she watched him.
"And you remember that scary day.." She paused, taking a breath it. "When the sky changed--and I turned into.. this?" She asked, looking down at her body. She was silent, waiting a moment for it to sink in.

This wasn't Luna. No matter what she said, Luna was a puppy dog. His pet. The dog that would run around with him and bite at the grass when it threw it, and sit at his side like a loyal companion. Blowing out a heaving sigh, he kept his eyes on the blue above. "Yeah," he reiterated, this time in a much more solemn tone. He didn't like that day. That was the day he lost Mommy and Daddy and went to Aunt Co-Lee's house, but she told him to stay in the kitchen cubbard. Frowning, his eyes dragged down to his feet.
"'Cept joo talk now," he pointed out smartly.

"Yeah,"
Her mouth twisted slightly, as her eyes glued to the ground. "Yeah..." She sighed, giving a light push with her foot as the swing moved back and forth. "I wish I could take it back.." She whispered, her head slowly turning to look at Oliver. "I can't, but the wish is still there..."
"'Cept joo talk now,"
She nodded softly, but after a moment, she shook it gently. "I've always talked.." She admitted in a whisper. "The nights you slept in your bed, I was there; singing. You didn't know.. mommy and daddy didn't know.." She could only imagine this was just confusing him.. but hoped somehow.. someway; he would just know. Know that everything she was saying was true.
Sighing, she looked over at him. "I missed you, Ollie." Luna said, smiling softly. "I miss you, and I want to be your friend again."

That was silly. She didn't always talk. Now Luna wasn't making sense. Letting it wash over his head--it was too much to try to take in, anyway--he kept his eyes autistically focused on his feet, watching as they swung to keep his swing in motion. From the way Luna was talking, he was sure that he had made her sad. Lifting his head, he hoped that she wouldn't be mad at him.
Oliver wasn't sure if he wanted to be her friend. She wasn't the same Luna, so he had to get to know her all over again. But after he made her sad, how could he say no? "Okay," she mumbled, wishing he had his doggie back to sit next to him, and rub her face against his like she was telling him everything was okay. That was the way he liked it, but that was the only way it couldn't be.

"Okay,"Her entire body sighed, as she slipped down from the sing to sit in the grass in front of him. " I know it's not the same.." She started, plucking the grass underneath her. She wasn't sure how he would react, and she couldn't find the words to explain... So, she shifted, but not into the form she use to inhabit. It was new, same medium size, but she was a collie instead. She perked her ears up, her head tilting to the side. She let out a soft whimper, before slowly walking closer and nudging his foot with the top of her head. " But it's still me. It's still Loo-loo, Ollie."

Then there was a new dog before him and his heart stopped, his feet dragging across the sand below the swing and nearly flying forward off of it. All of these changes--when were they going to end? Who was his new dog? Frowning, he crept from the playset and nudged his finger over the collie's soft fur on its head, cocking his own in curiosity. "Doggie," he remarked plainly.
The dog spoke and he was throw back, stumbling into the swing and hanging onto the chain. This doggie talked just like Loo-Loo. Pulling his eyebrows together momentarily, he swallowed nervously. "No," he whined. "Want other Loo-Loo. Pease, Loo...Luna." With getting a hang on the new word, finding it in him to artciulate, he also discovered a new confidence to ask for what he wanted. "Mommy says joo broke the rules. But we promise we no tell on joo. Pease be normal? Pease? I wub joo."

"No," he whined. "Want other Loo-Loo. Pease, Loo...Luna."
A soft whine escaped her in her canine form as her eyes locked with Oliver's. Her head turned slightly, as she listened. "What?" She asked, barely audible.
"Mommy says joo broke the rules. But we promise we no tell on joo. Pease be normal? Pease? I wub joo."
Her heart seized, and she quickly shifted into her human form, head hung low. "Ollie... which... I mean..." She bit her lip, eyes evasive. "Me... or Dog-Luna?" She asked, head slowly lifting as she shifted back into her original form--when she fisrt met him.
"Which me do you want?"
