Don't touch me!With everything that had been going on, she took a little 'me' time. She sat outside on the upper balcony, sitting a glass of champaign as music played softly in the background.
Her feet on the railing, and a book on her lap, she wrote down her plans for tomorrow. "Don't fogert to stop, and cook dinner for everyone." She wrote, talking aloud to herself as her hand reached out for the glass.
Taking a sip, she let her head rest on the back of the seat. Closing her eyes, she let out a sigh. Her thoughts went to Shames, wondering if he was tucking in Lyra at this time?
Smiling gently, she shook her head. Wondering if that girl would ever let her in. She understood though, daddy being with another woman that wasn't mommy? It was tough.
She took in a deep breath, letting it out slowly as she looked down at the backyard. The pool looked inviting, maybe she'd head down for a swim...

Run, hide. I'll still catch you.Funny, even in a big city like New York, people didn't think about locking their doors. Sneaking in through the front door, his eyes scanned the rooms. Listening, looking. He knew she was here, heard it straight from her mother's mouth.
Silently heading up the stairs, he could hear music. Heading towards it, he found the balcony, and her. How sweet it was! He crossed his arms, watching her with a smirk. "Don't fogert to stop, and cook dinner for everyone."
He gave his head a shake. Still the same naive Evangeline. Cracking his neck, he grinned, making his way behind her. He didn't say a word, just stood there. Watching, listening, waiting.
Slowly, his head reached out and touched her shoulder.

Her arms crossed, she sat there, starring at the ocean blue pool below.
Feeling a hand on her shoulder, she reached, placing a hand over it; thinking it was Ainslie, or hoping it was Shames. Her brows furrowed, feeling the hand that laid there on her skin. It wasn't Ainslie's and it sure as hell wasn't Shames.
Slowly, her head turned. Her eyes widened as she jumped to her feet and backed up against the railing. "You.. you stay away from me!" She said, though it wasn't very convincing. Taking in a sharp breath, she tried again. "I swear to god, if you touch me, Nicolas. I will scream!" She shouted.
How could a perfect day, turn so horribly bad?

"You.. you stay away from me!"
She was still so beautiful, couldn't help but smile at her. "Why would I do that? I came all this way, Evangeline.." His brows furrowed as he starred at her. "Don't you want to see me?" He grinned wickedly.
"I swear to god, if you touch me, Nicolas. I will scream!"
Using his super speed, he ran up behind her, clasping a hand over her mouth. "And I swear, Evangeline. If you do, it'll be your last." He took in a deep breath, taking in her scent. "You smell good, Evan. Look good too. New York treatin' you well?" Idle chatter, but enough of that.
He picked her up, placing her back in the seat. His dark blue eyes glaring into hers. "Don't. Scream." He told her harshly, leaning down into her face. "We have a lot to talk about, Evan." He said, pushing himself to stand up straight.
His finger tapped on his chin. "But where to begin.."

"Why would I do that? I came all this way, Evangeline.." His brows furrowed as he starred at her. "Don't you want to see me?"
"N--" Suddenly he was behind her, hand clamped over her mouth. Her eyes flicked around. Looking for something to hit him with. "And I swear, Evangeline. If you do, it'll be your last." She swallowed hard, giving a nod.
"You smell good, Evan. Look good too. New York treatin' you well?"
She didn't reply, not only because she literally couldn't. But she didn't want to. Didn't want him touching her, or talking to her. That part of her life was done, over with. Feeling him picking her up and placing her back in the chair, she glared up at him.
"Don't. Scream. We have a lot to talk about, Evan."
She continued to stare, even with every fiber of her telling her to run. She knew him, and well. If she ran, he'd only chase her. She took in even breaths, trying to calm her nerves. "Like?" She shot back with an attitude.

"Like?"
His brows shot up as he turned, looking at her. A slow smirk spread across his lips. "I see New York gave you some spunk, huh?" He gave a nod, turning. Using his super-speed, he quickly turned back and slapped her across her right cheek. "No one asked you to talk."
He glared down at her, quickly slicking his hair back as he stood there, staring at her. "How about our son?" He saw the look on her face and nodded. "Yeah. I know, Evan. Had to hear it from Cristian. Should have heard it from you. But you ran. Like always." He glared at her, shaking his head.
"I left, there's a difference. I left. To fix myself, for you." He was getting angry. "I come back, expecting to see you, with my son. But what did I see?" His brows perked. "Nothing."

Without You - Dixie Chicks"I see New York gave you some spunk, huh?"
Before she even had a chance to reply, his hand reached out, slapping her with force, her head whipping in the direction. Shaking, she slowly reached up, placing a hand over her cheek. "No one asked you to talk." Everything inside of her wanted to scream. Wanted to cry, cry out for help. But she knew she couldn't.
"How about our son?"
Her eyes widened, looking up at him. "Yeah. I know, Evan. Had to hear it from Cristian. Should have heard it from you. But you ran. Like always." She took in a sharp inhale. "That's not fair." She said softly, lip trembling.
"I left, there's a difference. I left. To fix myself, for you." He was getting angry. "I come back, expecting to see you, with my son. But what did I see?" His brows perked. "Nothing."
What could she say to please him? Nothing. Her eyes welled with tears as she starred up at him, taking to her feet slowly, cautiously. "I had to." She managed to get out as a tear slid down her now brusing cheek. "Nicolas.. you pushed me, not just pushed me. But you pushed me down a flight of stairs when I was four months pregnant. I could have lost him then. But thankfully, I didn't." She took in a shaky breath, her eyes locked on his.
"Sometimes I wish I had." She cried. "Because now, I have nightmares. Becuase I had to give up something that meant the world to me. Because of you." She didn't care if he beat the living shit out of her. It was good to get that out, and in the open after all those years of holding it in.

"That's not fair."
His brow lifted as he let forth a small laugh, shaking his head. "Life isn't fair, Evangeline." He spat back at her. "How do you think I felt to come to your house, and see nothing. Nothing but an empty house."
"I had to."
"That's rich." He nodded with a smile. "You had to?" He shook his head at her, anger rising quickly.
"Nicolas.. you pushed me, not just pushed me. But you pushed me down a flight of stairs when I was four months pregnant. I could have lost him then. But thankfully, I didn't."
He stopped, eyes slightly gazed over as he stared at her. "It.. it was a him? It was a boy?"
"Sometimes I wish I had." She cried. "Because now, I have nightmares. Because I had to give up something that meant the world to me. Because of you."
He couldn't control himself. Within a blink of an eye he had her by the arms and at her feet, shaking her fiercely. "Don't you think I had a say in all of that? I left to fix myself FOR YOU EVAN!"
Letting her go, he brought back his hand and punched her right in the eye, sending her flying backwards towards the hallway. "But no. You never think of anyone besides yourself!"

"It.. it was a him? It was a boy?"
She looked up, brows furrowed, tears blurring her vision. "Yes. Stephen. His name was Stephen." She said, before looking down again.
"Don't you think I had a say in all of that? I left to fix myself FOR YOU EVAN!"
She winced as his voice raised. She hated this. Hated feeling so weak when he was around. As he shook her, a strangled cry escaped her lips. "But no. You never think of anyone besides yourself!"
"Who are you talking about?" She asked bravely. Her head lifting and looking at him with dark eyes. "You. Because that's not me you're talking about, Nic."

"Yes. Stephen. His name was Stephen."
His hands still holding her there, he starred at her. "Stephen." He said the name softly. Shame. Shame that Stephen never got a chance to see this world and all it's beauties. All because of her.
"Who are you talking about?" She asked bravely. Her head lifting and looking at him with dark eyes. "You. Because that's not me you're talking about, Nic."
He growled lowly in his throat, his hands gripping her tight before throwing her to the ground. "New York has changed you." He spat, quickly walking towards her before she got the chance to get away.
Snatching her by the hair, he pulled her towards him. "When will you learn.." He said, eyes glaring down at her as his hand pulled back, his hand balling up into a fist before hitting her left eye.

"New York has changed you."
She winced as his grasp tightened on her arms. Suddenly, she was thrown to the floor and let out a soft cry. She knew he'd come after her, and she tried; she tried. She went to move, but as she did, he grabbed her hair.
Letting out a blood-curdling scream, she wrapped her hand around his until he let go. She starred up at him, wondering if this was the end. Would she ever be able to tell Shames how much she cared for him?
"When will you learn.."
She flinched, thinking he was going to slap her, and mentally getting ready for it. But what came next was a surprise. It was blinding. Horrible, insane pain running through her skull as his fist made contact with her eye.

He ran a hand down his face as he walked in the door. Never, in his entire life; had he been so tired. Eyes barely open, he made his way towards the stairs. A soft yawn escaping as he started up them.
The only comforting thought was, he was home. And soon enough, he could curl up next to Josslyn and sleep. Sleep until noon. Yes, that sounded perfect. As he reached the top, a scream filled the air, and his eyes shot open. "Jossie?" He called out, running down the hall towards her room.
He almost didn't see it, almost passed it all by in a hurry to check on Josslyn. His eyes slowly moved towards the open balcony door. There was Evangeline, on the floor. And a man, standing and towering over her; clearly angry.
"Hey!" He shouted, quickly making his way towards them. He shot a glare at Nic before turning to Evan. "You okay?" He asked gently. "Did he do this?" Instead of waiting for her reply, he turned on the man.
Grabbing him by the shirt, he pulled him close. "Who the hell are you?" He asked, eyes in slits.
