ISHMAEL NOBODY ?!
well, maybe there's a god above
but all i've ever learned from love
was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
it's not a cry that you hear at night
it's not somebody who's seen the light
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

detailed personality,
May has a very I-Hate-the-World attitude. She doesn't know who to blame (she has blamed herself for everything so far, and it doesn't help at all), so she blames her miserable unfortunate life on the 'God' people talk about. She's not exactly atheist, she just has no proof that there is a higher being. She wishes so (if only to make things right), but she is still slightly unsure. After what she's been through, she sees a God as something that couldn't exist--otherwise, how could He or She let something like this happen?
May is also very reclusive. She prefers to be alone, not wanting to be hurt or inflict hurt on anyone. She wishes she had someone to confide in, but she is afraid of hurt, so she stays away. She is torn between the desire to fit and the desire to live painlessly (or die, she still hasn't made a wholehearted suicide attempt). And anyways, aren't her ghosts/ figments of imagination company enough?

detailed history,
Ishmael was the first child bron to her family. She was named after her father, with a name meaning 'God will hear'. Her family was always very religious, strong in their belief in God and the afterlife. Her whole family was mutant, and they freely used their powers in everyday life, unaware that anything was wrong with it, or unaware that displaying their powers was not a proper (or particularly safe) action.
Everyone soon came to know her family was full of mutant powers and.. as some people saw it, deformities. There were those who sought to eradicate mutants, and, of course, they decided May's family was as good as any.
They struck around the time of Ishmael's thirteenth birthday. Her and her family were sitting in the family room, playing their music. Each child learned an instrument, so they were pretty much like their own symphony. May's parents believed that music was the key to opening the gates of Heaven. And, convinced all of their children were going to a Heaven, they required the musical knowledge. The children did not mind. Most of them were born with a musical ear, and they enjoyed the music.
One night, however, when May was sitting at the piano, at the beginning notes of 'Rise of the Valkyrie', the window in that room was smashed open. In came men in black suits. They looked quickly around, and a few of them jumped to restrain the children--however, making sure they could see what would happen next. They tortured May's mother to death, and then left. Scarred and blind with rage, her family mourned.
Until they came back again. This time, they started with the youngest, which, at the time was Joel. They tortured him to death too, and it would go on and on until baby Katrina, May, her father and little Magdalena. Magdalena was first to go. They tortured her, killed her, and stole the body. Now May's family didn't even have a body to bury. Katrina soon suffered the same fate, until it was only May and her father left.
The next night they came, there were only two men. One of them torutred her father, the other raped May. In front of each other. So her father got to see his daughter abused, while his daughter got to see her farther tortured and killed. At the end of that night, they stole away her father's body, and left May on the floor, crying and bleeding.
But before they could come back and kill her too, May ran. As fast as she could, away from her old home. She sheltered under bridges, waiting and hurting and spiraling into depression. She finally made her way to Biella, hoping maybe they could help her--with her powers, her mental state, and her pregnancy.
But when her child was born, it didn't survive. She didn't have the strength to keep it healthy, so it perished--another hole punched in her heart. She had suffered so many losses, she was afraid of people, afraid of hurt, and afraid of attempting to love. Most of all, she was afraid of turning her face to the sunlight. So she still is torn, depressed, hurt, and she is waiting for the right person to come along and help her.
anything else?, yeah, she's a fail.
