Daddy spoke to him then, and Oliver picked his head up with delight, nodding. "Yes, Daddy. But I gotted sand in mah mouf." He stuck out his tongue to indicate how unpleasant the experience had been. "An' in mah heya." Tousling his hair with his hands a little, he let a full-on smile take over his face. Daddy turned to kiss Mommy then, and he cringed.
"Eww, Daddy!" he drawled, but it ended up turning into laughter. "No kissin' Mommy. Ees no bedtime, thilly."
---
Emma brightened immediately when her daughter wanted her and she righted herself, sitting up and taking up Maura onto her lap. "Really?" she gasped, pushing a bit of hair away from Maura's eyes. "Well, that's so good, Maura baby. You and Oliver seem to love each other very much." That was a relief unto itself. Oliver had adjusted quickly and Maura was forever at his side, curious.
"And you know what?" she added on a more serious note, brushing noses with her. "I love you both as my children very much. So you can like each other all you want."

"Oh no," Cian sympathized with the boy. "All out of mouth now though, right?" he confirmed. "And I've got a sure way of gettin' the sand out of your hair, boy-o." With that, he swept his son into his arms and rose. He then promptly turned Oliver upside down, holding the little boy against his chest. Cian let him dangle a little bit, a slight shower of sand falling from his bright hair. He laughed at that before righting the little boy, keeping him in his arms. "All better?" he asked.
"Eww, Daddy! No kissin' Mommy. Ees no bedtime, thilly."
"Ohh, we're gonna have problems if that's the only time I'm allowed to kiss Mommy," Cian countered, hiding his grin. "Besides, won't be long from now before you're interested in kissin' some girl of your own," he teased his son, tickling his stomach.
---
"Well, that's so good, Maura baby. You and Oliver seem to love each other very much."
"Uh-huh!" Maura agreed excitedly. "He's the bestest bruffer eva!" She giggled a little, eyes crinkling. "LoLo's good too," she added as an after-thought. "But he's not my-un bruffer, so it's diff'ent."
"And you know what? I love you both as my children very much. So you can like each other all you want."
"Oh yay!" Maura shouted, leaping Momma into a hug. Arms wrapping securely around her mother's neck, she snugged close. "I love you as my Momma very muchly, too! And Daddy as my-un Daddy!" She was so lucky. She had the bestest family in the wholest widest world. She happily voice that opinion to her mom, pulling back a little to meet her eyes.

Assuring Daddy that his mouth was clean with a few quick nods, Oliver started when he was twirled around to let his head hang. His laugh was clogged and strained, face turning a bright red as he let his arms hang in the air, shirt falling over his chin. "Mommy, look!" he giggled, shaking his head to release some of the sand but regretting it afterwards as a distinct pressure sounded in his head. "I upside-down!" he informed her finally, holding onto his head, getting quite dizzy. It was hard to talk. "No more, Daddy. Mah head hurt."
He was righted, then, exchanging another laugh. "Dat was fun," he applauded. "Yes. All better." As if to mock him, a bit of sand fell into his face and he shook it away. He sneezed.
Oliver then pulled a disgusting, if not frightened, face. "Eww, no!" he protested, pushing out his hands to resist being tickled and the idea of kissing at the same time. Laughter rolled up again and he tried to speak through it. "No kissin'! Yucky! Kissin' only for mommies and daddies!"
---
"Oh, of course," she assured her with a exaggerated serious face. "He's your brother, so he has to be the best. Isn't that right? And that makes you the best sister." A soft, mellow chuckle rose up and she agreed, nodding. "Logan's a very good friend. Kind of like your cousin, yeah? So he can be the best cousin ever. And Regan, of course. You love Regan, don't you?"
Clearly pleased by the idea of having unlimited love, Maura jumped into her arms and Emma folded hers around her daughter, taking her up wholly simply because of sheer size. She ducked her face into her hair, relishing in the moment for a little while before Mo perked up again. "Thank you, Maura. That makes me the happiest Momma in the world." Finalizing her opinion with a solid kiss to her cheek, she cradled her on her lap, watching her little green eyes glimmer with hope and satisfaction.
An idea came to mind and she started off slowly, "Maura, since you're the best sister in the world, what would you think about being a sister again?" Finding that that might be too cryptic for a girl barely a year old, she rephrased it. "What I mean is, what do you think about adding another baby to the family?" Her eyes flickered to Cian's, as if looking for approval for bringing up the subject.

Cian laughed at his son's expression, a soft smile finding his face. "Or maybe not quite." He brushed a hand through Oliver's hair, making sure to get rid of all the sand. Or he hoped at least. "Ah well. A little dirt and sand only makes a boy stronger, huh?"
"Eww, no! No kissin'! Yucky! Kissin' only for mommies and daddies!"
Cian had a heartly laugh at that. He supposed he should be glad his son thought that way. He wouldn't have to worry about the boy knocking up some girl at an early age. Then again, there was plenty of time for Oliver to change his mind... Thought like that could turn a man's hair grey. "That's right, I s'ppose. Kissin' is only for mums and dads. So s'all right for me to be kissin' your mum, then." He flashed a grin to the little boy, teasing

Maura nodded again, eyes wide with happiness. "Uh-huh, uh-huh! LoLo is the bestest boy cousin and Regan's the bestest girl cousin!" She clapped her hands excitedly. "And Unka Deano's the bestest unka and Aunt Harm's the bestest aunt!" She frowned then, head tipping to the side. "Cept for Unka Timmy and Unka Luke and Unka Bri-Bri. And Aunt Danny, and Aunt Kelly and Aunt Frankie." She soon shrugged this off, concluding. "We the bestest family!"
"Thank you, Maura. That makes me the happiest Momma in the world."
Maura bounced a little, happier still. "Daddy!" she called. "Daddy! I maded Momma the happiest Momma in da wholest world!"
Cian looked to the little girl at that, shaking his head. "That's good, Maura-mine. 'Cause you and Ollie make me the happiest Daddy in the wholest world." He then ruffled the boy in his arm's hair.
"What I mean is, what do you think about adding another baby to the family?"
Maura's face screwed up a little, thinking that over. Another baby? Like when Mo had been a baby? Another one. Another bruffer like Oliver? Then she could be the bestest sister again! Or if it was another sister... Then Mo could have her own Regan! In her house and everything! "That'd be fun!" she declared, squirming a little with excitement.
Cian, who had been listening, beamed and tossed Oliver in the air. Catching him deftly, he posed the same question to the boy. "How 'bout you lad? What would you think of another baby? Not for a bit now, but eventually?"

Prying Daddy's hands from his hair, he smiled, holding them captive close to his chest. "Ha ha! I gotted yo hands!" he played, keeping them hostage against him. There was something in the summer air that made him reel his head back and sneeze again. His body flew up slightly from the opposing force.
"That's right, I s'ppose. Kissin' is only for mums and dads. So s'all right for me to be kissin' your mum, then."
"Yes," he stated decisively, clapping Daddy's hands before setting them free. That was the way it was supposed to be. Daddy kissing Mommy. And then sometimes Daddy and Mommy kissing him and Mo. He liked that. Especially with hugs.
Their conversation had been void to him, but as soon as Daddy's voice cut into his cognition, he piped up.
"How 'bout you lad? What would you think of another baby? Not for a bit now, but eventually?"
"No..." he whimpered, reaching for and grasping onto Daddy's shirt, then realized he had said 'eventually.' With a heavy, relieved sigh, he tried to recover from his last answer, knowing that it had made Daddy upset last time. "Sure." It wasn't much, but at least it wasn't an outright denial.
---
Maura went into her own little world, naming all the people she loved and who was the 'bestest,' and all Emma could do was laugh. Her instant taking to the idea of another baby only added to the delight. She rocked back and forth with Maura still in her lap. "We are the bestest family, Maura. You're so right."
Oliver's reply didn't phase her as much as she thought it would. Even though it seemed as though he'd held onto his anger from last time, she knew he was fine with Maura now. Would it be the same with another addition?
"Don't worry, Ollie-bear," she assured him with a grin. "Another baby won't be coming for a while."

"Ha ha! I gotted yo hands!"
"Noooo!" Cian cried, playing along. He play-struggled at trying to get his hands back but let Oliver keep them. "Gimme m' hands back!" His words fell into laughter, nose wrinkling in mirth.
"No..." "Sure." "Don't worry, Ollie-bear," she assured him with a grin. "Another baby won't be coming for a while."
Cian brought Oliver close to his chest, cuddling the boy to him. "That's right. Not for awhile, lad. Me and your mum want to have some time with just you and Mo, y'know?" He pressed a kiss to Oliver's forehead, hugging him tight. Then he promptly tossed his boy in the air, catching him easily and swinging him around a bit.
----
Maura giggled as Momma rocked her. "I right. I the rightest, like Daddy 'cause Daddy knows ever'thing." She clapped her hands together excitedly before fixing her eyes on Daddy with Oliver.
Tugging on Momma's sleeve, she pointed. "Momma, I wanna do dat! I wanna fwy like dat! Like woosh!" she threw her arms out at her sides, making like an airplane. "Fwy me, Momma?" She turned her big, green doe eyes on her mom, pleading.
