Wild Night - John MellencampI BloomGrand opening. Ash smiled as she stood in the middle of the joint, her eyes trailing around as people danced on the dance floor, talked, laughed and drank.
Success.
She was still looking for singers, so for the moment she was using a jukebox. She danced slowly towards the bar, her head bobbing back and forth to the song that swept through the place.
"Can I get you anythin' sweetheart?" She smiled gently to a woman sitting at the bar. "No, I'm good. Great place though, and congratulations. Seems to be a big hit with the New Yorkers."
Ash laughed softly, nodding her head as she leaned on the bar. "Thank you. Yeah, I'm pretty proud of myself." She grinned. Tilting her head slightly she perked a brow. "Out-of-towner?" She asked gently.
"Yeah actually. From California, kinda don't want to go back after being here for over a week." Ash laughed gently, shaking her head. "Don't blame ya there." She tapped the bar twice before smiling gently as she moved down to a customer.
She took in a deep breath, her smile widening. "What can I get ya?" Truly, this was the human kind's version of Heaven.

It hadn't been so bad of a day. Pretty easy, when he thought it over again. He had slept to almost eleven, gotten up, eaten a little something, worked out a bit, watched TV and then fallen asleep again until seven. So not a hard day. But his body had ached all over because of the night before. He had fought three times. The first match was easy, little guy, Mal had fifty pounds on him at least. The last two though... Fuck, they had been whales. More like bulls, really; all muscle and hard bone. Mal had beatent he first guy but got trashed by the last. But he came away with nearly two thou in cash, so that was nice. Body still pounding with every move, Mal strolled into the Blue Moon Pub. Opening Night. Rolling his shoulders a little, he tried to stretch himself out better. His hand ran through his hair, still damp from the shower, as he approached the bar. Moving behind it, he gave Ash's hair a gentle tug as he headed to start taking orders right away. When Ash finally looked his way, he flashed her a smile while fixing a Black&Blue for some pretty blonde. 'Pro'ly an angel, Mal thought to himself as he slid her drink to her with another smile.

"Can I get one of the house specials...? The Carribean Kiss, I think it's called?"
Ash gave a nod, grabbing the glasses of alcohol and another glass to pour it in. As she began mixing the drink up, she felt a tug on her hair. Head turning slightly, Mal smirked at her. She shook her head, finishing the drink off and sliding it over to the girl. "There ya go hun." She smiled, picking the money up off the bar and placing it in her hip pocket.
She walked over, brows perked, arms crossed over her chest, and a bright smile on towards him. Her arm reached out, hitting him playfully. "You look like hell." She said gently, giving him a once over.
She knew he fought, and that was fine. In her eyes, it was almost natural. Angels fought, though they did it for different reasons, but still. It helped, and for many reasons. Big time stress reliever, and.. so were other things.. so she's heard..
"How'd it go last night?" She sighed softly, turning around and wiping down the counter really quick. Always keeping busy, but that's just how she was. She smiled at a man that walked by, taking a seat at the end of the bar.

"You look like hell."
He gave a wince as he tossed the money to the register. Even her light hit hurt. Well, she had gotten the exact area that he had used to fend off a truly brutal blow from the Giant last night. "I feel it," he mumbled but tossed a loose grin her way. He just needed another good night's sleep before fighting again. And he would get it. Next round wasn't for three more days; thank God.
"How'd it go last night?"
He shrugged, taking the man's order before answering her. "Won two. Got turned to burger in the last one. Guy was a fuckin' giant, I swear." He gestured to indicate the man's enormity. "Hope I never go against him again; all I gotta say." He lifted his eyebrows to her. Passing the drink to the customer, he smiled as he noticed the pretty blonde angel had struck up a conversation with him. She seemed like the kind to just smile at anyone and start talking.
Eyes skipping over the expanse of heads in the crowd. "Good turn-out," he commented, whistling low. Really good turn-out. The place had gotten a lot of good buzz and it seemed to have worked. Looked like half of Manhattan had showed up. Shaking his head a little, he chuckled. "Think Dominick's pissed? Bet we stole some of his customer's tonight." He nodded to the blonde angel, sure she was a regular at Saints & Sinners.

"I feel it,"
She crinkled her nose, resting one arm on the bar as she shook her head. She watched as he served a man a drink, and smiled gently towards him as she waited to hear more. She wasn't crazy about people pounding each other for no good reason, but she did have to admit; sometimes the stories he told were too good to pass up.
"Won two. Got turned to burger in the last one. Guy was a fuckin' giant, I swear." He gestured to indicate the man's enormity. "Hope I never go against him again; all I gotta say."
She whistled low, shaking her head. Her hat went askew a moment and she smiled softly, reaching up and righting it before pushing off the bar to take another's order. "Yikes." She could only imagine...
"Good turn-out,"
She looked around, a smile on her face as she mixed up another drink. "Yeah. We did good for our first night." She chuckled, sliding the glass over the smooth bar-top towards the man, taking the money and dipping it into her pocket. Was so much easier than having to go back and forth to the register.
"Think Dominick's pissed? Bet we stole some of his customer's tonight."
She laughed out loud at that. "Dunno." She shrugged, grinning ear to ear as the song on the jukebox changed. "I can say he'll be making a visit sometime tonight." She shot him a smile. "That I can say for sure."

"Yikes."
"'Yikes' is most definitely right," Mal agreed. Once more, he ran a hand over his head. He realized this time the split knuckles at that hand and flexed it a little. Ow. If the cuts were still open after a full day of healing, especially with his accelerated healing... Ouch. He was glad he had passed out right after the fights last night because that must've hurt.
"Dunno. I can say he'll be making a visit sometime tonight. That I can say for sure."
Malcolm laughed at that, fixing a quick drink for himself and downing it a second. "Yeah, well you can deal with him then. I'm beat enough as it it." He was joking of course. Dominick was entirely friendly and wouldn't dream of hurting anyone. Unless, of course, that someone was causing trouble. Then all bets were off.
He stretched, shoulders popping painfully. Ohh, but it felt good afterward. That's what he had been needing. Letting out a little pleased sigh, he got back to work.

"Yeah, well you can deal with him then. I'm beat enough as it it." Her head turned slightly to look at him as he rolled his shoulders, her brows furrowed gently before she turned back to wipe down the counter. " Still hurt?" She asked, not looking back as she continually wiped at the same spot. Yeah, she knew Dominick would stop by. He had promised her that much last night when she popped in unexpectedly in his back room. Scared the bejesus out of him, but it made her smile. As she realized she was cleaning the same spot over again, she stopped and turned around. She stood there a second, looking around before heading off to the jukebox. Throwing in the money, her mouth crooked a moment before typing in a combination. She immediately started to dance as the tune came blaring out. She danced her way back to the bar, laughing softly as she looked back at Mal. " Much better."

"Still hurt?"
Loose smile on his face, Mal shook his head. "Nah. Much better now; thanks."
A moment later, Malcolm looked up to find Ash out on the floor, dancing. He chuckled a little, shaking his head. Filling a few more orders, he looked up to find that she had returned to the counter. He flashed her a grin.
"Much better."
"Got your dance on?" he joked, smirking.

Shekinah knocked the counter once to drawn Dominick's attention. Shooting a smile to him, she said, "I'm gonna head next door, see how Ashling is doing." Blowing him a playful kiss, she weaved her way through the crowded bar to the door. Even with Blue Moon Pub's opening night rocking, Saints & Sinners was still doing well.
Shekinah smiled wide as she burst into the neighboring establishment. Whoa, it really was packed in here... Ambling up to the counter, she nodded to a fellow angel that she saw there. Turning to the bartender, she saw that it was someone she recognized. She had met him once or twice before... Name... Name... Something like bad... Mal!
Shooting a smile to the man, she offered a greeting. "Heya, Mal!" The keep smiled back and asked if she'd like anything which Shekinah answered with a shake of her head. "Nah, just here bother Ash..." Her eyes trailed to the side, catching the woman in question at the register. "LingLing!" she cried out happily. Giggling a little, she dropped her chin to her hand. "So, I'd ask how your opening night is going, but it's pretty obvious." With a smirk, she waved her hand to indicate the crowd of patrons.

[[Perfectly fine. Dom is comin in next]]
"Got your dance on?"
She snickered, giving a shrug as she danced while placing the money in her pocket into the cashier. Her mouth moved along to the words, making a slide towards the bar, laughing softly. "Kinda. Got too, y'know? Lots to celebrate about." She smiled over at him.
"LingLing!"
Ashling's head flew to the right, her hat catching wind and soaring through the air until it landed on the ground. She grinned widely, running over and getting her hat. Once it was on, she flashed Kinah a smile. "Nah-nah!" She greeted, leaning over the bartop to give her a hug.
"So, I'd ask how your opening night is going, but it's pretty obvious."
Her brows perked as she smiled. It was nice, being so happy, and knowing you did it yourself. "Yeah. We're doing great. Stole some of S&S's clients." She looked around, thinking Dominick had come with Shekinah. "Where's icky?" She asked, her nose scrunching slightly.

One minute she was there, the next she was gone. His eyes scanned around the barr before tapping the counter three times, shooting a glance to Jamie. " Can you handle this place if I pop in next door for a few?" She made a face but smiled. " Yeah, yeah. Go on." She laughed, shushing him on and out the door. He laughed easily, looking back once before heading out into the cool night air. It was right next door. Why Ash decided to take up this space was beyond him. But, he did have to admit he liked having her nearby. Pushing the door open, he smiled gently, seeing the back of Shekinah's head. Looking further he saw Ashling and Mal behind the bar, giving Mal a nod as he headed towards the girls. " Ah ha!" He shouted a little, grabbing at Shekinah's waist as he slid in to the seat beside her. " Knew I'd catch you over here." His head turned, giving Ash a look. " And, I heard that. Y'know I hate that name.."

"Kinda. Got too, y'know? Lots to celebrate about."
Malcolm laughed, nodding along. "I hear that," he replied. In fact, he planned on possibly celebrating in his own way that night. His eyes scanned the bar for a prospective one-night-stand. Not that he did that often, not at all really. But like Ash said: lots to celebrate. And dancing wasn't really his thing...
Just as he was making eye-contact with a gorgeous redhead, he reached for a bottle to mix a drink. And like that his plans for that night were ruined. His spine reminded him that it had been smashed into the ground one too many times the night before and would not be able to handle sex. Aw well. He could celebrate with the Rocky marathon that was running the next day instead.
Then Shekinah bounced in and Malcolm couldn't help the smile that found his face. He offered her a drink, still smiling wide, but she declined and then grabbed Ashling's attention. Listening to their conversation as he filled a few more orders, Malcolm shook his head. Those two were crazy enough separate but put them together...
Dominick entered next and Mal returned the nod the S&S proprieter sent him. All they needed was Jamie and all of the Saints & Sinners would be at the Blue Moon...

"Nah-nah!"
Shekinah gave a beaming smile as she went in for the hug. She loved Ash's nicknames for people. How could she not? Shekinah gave enough people nicknames of their own, given they weren't as...out-landish as Ashling's could be.
"Yeah. We're doing great. Stole some of S&S's clients."
Shekinah raised an eyebrow at that, smile staying in place. She glanced around at the crowd, nodding. "Yeah, I'll say you have. So, here's the deal. You and me. Back alley. Twenty minutes. We fight for the customers." Shekinah held up her fists in mock stance for a fight but it quickly fell into just giggles. "I'm kidding of course. I'm just glad to see you spreading your own wings and taking flight." Shekinah's own wings fluttered a little bit. "Figuratively speaking, of course!"
"Where's icky?"
Shekinah chuckled at the nickname before gesturing vaguely to the wall between Blue Moon Pub and Saints & Sinners. "Holding down the fort over there. Someone's gotta; since I decided to jump enemy lines." Shekinah had barely gotten her words out when she felt someone grab her around the waist. "Aha!" Shekinah jumped a little, giving a gasp as she spun around. Finding Dominick there, she swatted at his chest lightly, shaking her head. "You," she accused shortly but a smile fought for dominance on her face.
"And, I heard that. Y'know I hate that name..."
Shekinah laughed at that, drawling out an "Awww." To Ash, she added, "He doesn't like my nickname for him either." Looking back to Dominick again, she added, "But I call him it anyway, don't I, Dommie?" She cast him a wink to show she was only teasing.

She acted as if she was really going to, but stopped, turning back and leaning against the counter. "Well I'm glad, nah-nah." She smirked. "Mean alot to me to have you..." She trailed off, catching sight of Dominick.
"Knew I'd catch you over here."
His head turned, giving Ash a look. "And, I heard that. Y'know I hate that name.."
Her head turned, looking back at Mal with a laugh. "Icky!" She squealed. "I was just telling Nah-nah here, how much it means to me for both of you to stop by on the grand opening." She perked a brow at him. "And, I know that. Icky-wicky." She grinned.
"He doesn't like my nickname for him either." Looking back to Dominick again, she added, "But I call him it anyway, don't I, Dommie?"
Ash chuckled along with Shekinah as Dominick starred at them both. "We picking on you too much?" She asked, smiling.

"You,"
He smirked, leaning one arm on the bartop as he sat down. "Yeah.. me." He chuckled lightly. "Icky!" She squealed. "I was just telling Nah-nah here, how much it means to me for both of you to stop by on the grand opening." She perked a brow at him. "And, I know that. Icky-wicky." His head turned, giving Ash a look. "No problem Lil-A." He smirked. "Dear god, please don't call me icky-wicky..." He said shaking his head. "I bet Mal can agree with me on that." He said, giving the man a look that read 'help me'
"He doesn't like my nickname for him either." Looking back to Dominick again, she added, "But I call him it anyway, don't I, Dommie?" "We picking on you too much?"

"I bet Mal can agree with me on that."
Mal just lifted his hands in a "leave me outta this" gesture. "Hey man, I'm not saying anything. I side with you and next thing I know Ash'll be calling me Mally-wally' or something." He chuckled at that, transferring the money in his pocket to the register.
Moving back toward Ash, he tugged her hair gently. "And don't get no ideas about that neither. I do have to maintain some kinda street-cred." He could just imagine going to a fight and being announced into the ring as Mally-wally. He'd get laughed at and then get his ass kicked.

Shekinah grinned. "'Course, Ash. Had to come over and see what everyone's raving about." Passing her friend a wink, she added. "You did good, chica." She was proud of Ashling and happy that she was happy.
"Yeah.. me.
Shaking her head, she resting her elbows back on the bar. "Poor Jamie; all alone to handle S&S by herself." She wasn't worried though. Jamie was more than able to cover the counter for a little while without Dominick around.
"Hey man, I'm not saying anything. I side with you and next thing I know Ash'll be calling me Mally-wally' or something... And don't get no ideas about that neither. I do have to maintain some kinda street-cred."
Shekinah laughed openly at that, nodding. Reaching across the bar, she squeezed his bicep teasingly. "Yeah, Omni forbid if the big, bad street fighter has a nickname, huh Shifty Shiften?" Her eyes were alight with amusement. She liked Mal. He was nice and a good-worker. Sometimes he strayed a little from the path but really, who didn't? And she had seen him fight once before. Man, was he good.
"Me? Picked on too much?" He waved a hand at her. "Never."
She flashed a quick grin to him before looking to Ashling. "See why I keep him around?"

Feeling the tug on her hair, she laughed, turning towards him with a big smile. "Yes, cause that sounds so perfect. I think I'll use that too." She giggled, shaking her head. "And don't get no ideas about that neither. I do have to maintain some kinda street-cred." She pouted for a moment. "[b[Aww.[/b]" She couldn't hold it and chuckled. "If you weren't so beat up I'd hit you." She smirked, showing him she was only teasing.
"Yeah, Omni forbid if the big, bad street fighter has a nickname, huh Shifty Shiften?"
Ashling's eyes grew big as she looked to Mal. "Ahh." She laughed, bumping into him softly. "See. That works even better, Shifty." She grinned, leaning back on the bar and smirking back at him over her shoulder. He was a good man.
"Me? Picked on too much?" He waved a hand at her. "Never." "See why I keep him around?"
She laughed softly, nodding. "Mhm." She perked a brow. "And.. how are you two doing?" She smirked. She knew they were getting closer, it was part of their path... Or something like that. Omni had mentioned it a very long time ago to her. But she had no photographic memory, time had taken that from her. But it wasn't hard to see... She smiled at both of them.

"See why I keep him around?"
His head turned to Kinah. "Hey now." He grinned, hitting her lightly with his elbow. "Mhm." She perked a brow. "And.. how are you two doing?" He shared a glance with Shekinah a moment. Go, enjoy your opening for a moment."

"Yes, cause that sounds so perfect. I think I'll use that too."
Malcolm rolled his eyes, fluidly serving another drink. Fantastic. He would be known as Mall-wally forever more. He would never get into another fight as long as he lived.
"Aww." She couldn't hold it and chuckled. "If you weren't so beat up I'd hit you."[/i]
Mal backed away from her slowly, smile on his face. "Yes, let's please not damage me anymore than I already am." When Shekinah mentioned his fighting name and Ash decided it fitting, Mal only grinned. "That one I don't mind. Shifty, I am."
They delved in another topic then and Mal got back to focusing on work. He heard when his name was mentioned though and saw Dominick coming around to help. Grinning to the man, he took another order. "Don't you have your own bar to run or something?" he joked. Not that he minded. Any help was welcome as far as he was concerned.
