Spyra knew she shouldn't have brought her phone along. She was just looking for a nice, easy walk with hopefully some food along the way. The day was beautiful and Spyra looked awesome and she just wanted to relax a little and get away from the freaking short-story that would not work. But she had brought her phone and her mother had called and she had talked to every one of her brothers, four of her cousins, three aunts, Nikolas a second time and just as she was trying to lead the conversation to a close, Euphemia took control of the phone. " Nai, Effie," she assured her little cousin in Greek. " Nai, nai. Epómeni evdomáda/ She promised Euphemia, for the third time, that she would come down to visit next week. "Okay," she said. " S'gapó. Antio!" Finally, she was able to hang-up. With a little sigh, Spyra stopped and found herself in front of the doors to Lombardi's Pizza. Mmm, perfect stop for an early lunch. Entering the store, she quickly ordered a plain slice and a coke. Not ten minutes later, she was outside, leaning against the wall and consuming the best pizza she had ever eaten. It was a beautiful day.

SmileRight Here - StaindGod, it was a nice day. He'd been to the park, letting Felix have his day in the sun. Which was always comical. Dog was hilarious, when he was good. After that, he just started walking. Didn't care where or how long it took. He just wanted to go.
Somehow, he ended up in Manhattan. Not his choice place to go. He preferred sticking closer to home, since he was still technically new to the big apple. He held onto Felix's leash a bit tighter as he made his way further into the city.
Feeling an abrupt yank, his head turned sharply; watching as Felix took off towards one area, his leash trailing behind him. "Son of a..." He muttered as he took off into a mad dash after him.
As if tripping over the mass crowd of people wasn't enough, but someone started pushing him. His voice raised, "FELIX!" followed by a ear-shattering whistle. Felix stopped in his tracks, a whine leaving him as he looked back at Jude.
"Stay!" He shouted, maneuvering his way through the crowd towards him. Felix let out another whine, his tail going between his legs, his head low as he took a step away. "No." He said, a bit softer as he slowly moved in. "Easy, boy." Just as he reached for the leash, Felix took off.

There seemed to be some sort of commotion down the sidewalk but Spyra barely glanced up at it. When wasn't there a commotion in Manhattan? She munched on the last bit of pizza, holding just the crust in her hand. She let that hand hang down a bit as she sipped at her soda, just reveling in the perfection that this was. Aside from the writer's block. That sucked. But there was nothing like a summer day spent in New York City to feed some inspiration.
She heard a bark then and instinctively looked up. A familiar dog came bounding toward her, taking the pizza crust from her now slack hand. "Hey!" she exclaimed, glaring playfully as the dog devoured his hard-earned treat. She knew this dog but how...
Then she suddenly remembered. Jude. That night on her way home; the demon. Jeez. Now what was the mutt's name? Something simple, she remembered. Almost human but not quite... "Felix!" she said, recalling the name. Grinning down at the dog, she patted his head. "You stole my crust, you silly mutt," she reprimanded him jokingly.
Well, Felix was here. She wondered if his owner was near-by...

"Quit..." He glared. "Dude, I swear to fucking.. stop pushing me." He yelled back at the old man. Sharing one last glare with the elder, he took off in the direction Felix was last seen. His eyes roamed around frantically, searching.
"Felix!" He stopped, just around the corner of the pizza place. "Here boy!" He yelled out, following it with a whistle. Felix smiled up at Spyra, letting out a soft bark as he turned, running towards Jude. "There you are!" He grinned, snatching him up by the collar and quickly getting his hand on the leash.
He started walking off again, and just by mere coincidence, his head turned. His brows furrowed as he stopped again. "Spyra?" He smiled, turning around and walking towards her slowly. "Hey."

She heard the distinctive voice of one Jude Carter and couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, that's your owner, all right, huh?" she said with a grin as she scratched behind the dog's ear. She rose from her slightly crouched position just as she heard Jude's voice call out, followed by a whistle. "Better go find him, pup," she told Felix. "He sounds worried."
The dog gave her a quiet "woof" before darting off and Spyra shook her head a little. Twists of fate. Hadn't seen that boy in who knew how long and then his dog came running up to her, stole the last of her lunch and then ran off. Never even saw the boy himself at all. Mouth quirking into a grin, she sucked more of her soda up and was pushing off from the wall as a voice stopped her.
"Spyra? Hey."
There he was. "Hey yourself," she replied, easy grin working onto his face. "Your dog stole my crust," she informed him, drinking noisily from her straw.

"Hey yourself," she replied, easy grin working onto his face. "Your dog stole my crust,"
He cracked a smile, one hand wrapped around Felix's leash tightly. "Guess I owe you then?" He asked, perking a brow. "I mean, if your still hungry?" He smiled. God, how long had it been since that night? His mind reeled, trying to figure it out. Either way, it'd been too long.
"How've ya been?"
[[S&S, sorry.]]

"Guess I owe you then?" He asked, perking a brow. "I mean, if your still hungry?"
Spyra smirked at that, nodding. "I'd say you do. But I'm done with pizza." She looked thoughtful a moment, finishing the last of her soda. "I could go for an ice cream though," she decided with a grin. She was joking about that. Well, not about the ice cream; Spyra could always go for an ice cream. But he didn't have to buy her one. Just, maybe, accompany her to the shop...
"How've ya been?"
She shrugged a little at that, tossing the now empty soda cup into a nearby trashcan. Moving close to him, she smiled coyly with her face near his before dropping down to tend to Felix. She pet him enthusiastically, accepting a few of his canine kisses with a giggle. "Pretty good, really," she said, finally answering Jude's question. "How 'bout you, huh? Charm the pants off any girls lately?" Her tone was cleary teasing and ended in something of a squeal as Felix licked her straight over the nose.
"Silly mutt," she muttered, smile still wide.

He could go for some ice cream. Even get a cone for Felix so he wouldn't steal theirs. "Ice cream, huh?" He smiled. "Sounds good." He gave nod. He watched her step closer, her face nearly inches from his. He was half expecting her to kiss him.. but at the last minute, she bent down and began petting the dog.
"Pretty good, really,"
He gave a nod. "Good to hear." It was safe to say, he was looking forward to a kiss from her. "How 'bout you, huh? Charm the pants off any girls lately?" He laughed softly, shaking his head. "No, not really. Been keeping to myself actually." He grinned.
"What about you? Any new knights I have to worry about?" He smirked.

"Ice cream, huh?" He smiled. "Sounds good."
Spyra grinned triumphantly. Nothing better than an ice cream cone on a summer day in New York City. "Great," she said. "What's Felix's favorite flavor?" She grinned to the dog before finally rising.
"No, not really. Been keeping to myself actually. What about you? Any new knights I have to worry about?"
"Keeping to yourself, huh?" She did not see Jude being able to 'keep to himself.' Seemed to like being around people way too much. And when Spyra said "people," she went "girls."
"No new knight, no," Spyra answered, shaking her head. "Nothing meaningful." Turning, she walked ahead of him a little, facing him and moving backward. "Come on, now. I want my ice cream!" She shot him an easy grin, daring him closer.
She still remembered his kiss of course. It had been a damn good kiss. But he was gonna have to work for it this time.

"Great," she said. "What's Felix's favorite flavor?"
He snickered, rubbing at his neck a moment. "Considering dogs aren't suppose to have chocolate. I'd say vanilla." He tossed back with an easy smile. "Me on the other hand.. I like mint chocolate chip. Or.. Cookies'n'Creme."
"Keeping to yourself, huh?"
"Yeah..." He laughed softly. "Why? Is that hard to believe or something?" He shot back at her. "No new knight, no," He gave a nod. "Nothing meaningful." he watched as she began to walk. "Come on, now. I want my ice cream!"
"So there has been someone." He smirked, finally walking and keeping up with her.

"Considering dogs aren't suppose to have chocolate. I'd say vanilla." He tossed back with an easy smile. "Me on the other hand.. I like mint chocolate chip. Or.. Cookies'n'Creme."
She smiled back, nodding. "And we certainly wouldn't want to get Felix here sick." She let her fingers trail over the dog's snout, chuckling. "Oooh, I love mint chocolate chip too. But my absolute favorite has got to be strawberry." When she was a little girl, she always picked strawberry because it was pink and, as a little girl, she loved pink. But she grew to love the flavor and it was now her favorite.
[/i]"Why? Is that hard to believe or something?"[/i]
Spyra raised an eyebrow at him, smirking. "Uh, yeah. Kinda." She shook her head at him, turning to walk the right way.
"So there has been someone."
Spyra shrugged nonchalantly. "There's been a few someones," she said honestly. "But none of them have been anything more than flirting really. Like I said, nothing meaningful." And that was the truth, really. Not that Jude was anything meaningful either. Right?

He laughed sofly, reaching down to pet Felix as he walked between them. "ahh, a thing we have in common." He nodded, smiling. "I can see you liking strawberry." He grinned over at her.
"Uh, yeah. Kinda."
He perked a brow at her. "And why's that?" He questioned. Seemed every girl he knew had this idea of him. And each one was different, and completely not true. Jude was a lot of things, not just one thing.
"There's been a few someones," she said honestly. "But none of them have been anything more than flirting really. Like I said, nothing meaningful."
He smirked, turning and walking backwards. "S'that mean I was meaningful?"

"I can see you liking strawberry."
"Oh?" she asked, pursing her lips. "Why's that?"
"And why's that?"
Spyra shrugged. "Dunno, really. You just...enjoy people." She giggled because that sounded a little weird. "I mean, you're good with people. So why not spread that talent, right?" Yeah. Right.
"S'that mean I was meaningful?"
Her mouth worked a moment but she couldn't think of anything to say. What did you say to that, anyway? "Well," she started carefully. "Considering there was only that one night in which all we did was flirt," --and exchange a few kisses, amazing kisses-- "what do you think?" She passed him a soft smile, slipping a strand of hair behind her ear and cocking her head to the side.

"Oh?" she asked, pursing her lips. "Why's that?"
He was caught. A sly smile escaped him as a soft laugh did as well. "I don't know." he shrugged.
"Dunno, really. You just...enjoy people." She giggled because that sounded a little weird. "I mean, you're good with people. So why not spread that talent, right?"
He grinned, shaking his head. "And what if I told you I only share my talent with chosen people? People like yourself." Smooth. Very smooth.
"Well," she started carefully. "Considering there was only that one night in which all we did was flirt," --and exchange a few kisses, amazing kisses-- "what do you think?"
He sucked in his lips a moment, before giving a shrug. "I'd like to think I was." He grinned. "But I'm no mind-reader." He pointed out, walking up the the ice cream shoppe and holding the door open for her. "After you."

"I don't know."
She smirked to him, nodding. "Yeah, yeah. I though so." Chuckling at that, she shook her head. "You are a sucky knight-in-shining-armor. But we already knew that, huh?"
"And what if I told you I only share my talent with chosen people? People like yourself."
Ooooh, he was good. Damn good. She just laughed at that. "Yeah. All right. That line ever work?" she asked with a grin.
"I'd like to think I was." He grinned. "But I'm no mind-reader."
Spyra passed him a soft smile, biting her lowerlip. "Well, how 'bout this: You were more meaningful than the other guys, at least." She gave him that and nothing more. Let him toy with that in his mind. She pulled a faux-curtsy then and entered the shop, waiting for him and Felix to follow.
"Maybe I judged too quickly," she commented, indicating the door he had held open for her. "Maybe you do have a little 'knight' in you."

"Wait a minute." He laughed softly. "I thought we landed on, I was a knight. No one said if I was good or bad." He smirked. "Yeah. All right. That line ever work?" He shrugged, smiling. "Sometimes. You'd be surprised, how often, actually."
"Well, how 'bout this: You were more meaningful than the other guys, at least."
He continued to hold the door open, Felix looking up and back and forth between them. "I'll take it." He laughed, following her inside. "Maybe I judged too quickly," He grinned. "Mhm." he murmured, walking up the the counter.
"Maybe you do have a little 'knight' in you."
"I thought we already landed on me already being a knight. I mean, after all, I did save you that night." He smirked, looking down at all the flavors of ice cream they had. "By the way, I am buying." He tossed at her.

"Sometimes. You'd be surprised, how often, actually."
She snorted softly at that, shaking her head. "Well, you're gonna have to try a little harder on this girl." She met his eyes on that one, raising an eyebrow. He had to know that, though. She hadn't fallen for his easy games that night and she wasn't going to now.
"I thought we already landed on me already being a knight. I mean, after all, I did save you that night."
She scoffed at that, but couldn't help the grin on her face. "Yeah, well, if you hadn't been singing at the top of your lungs in the middle of the night, I probably wouldn't have even been there to need saving." Okay, that was kind of a stretch, didn't really make sense. But whatever.
"By the way, I am buying."
She shook her head. "Aw, c'mon. No. I would've give Felix my crust anyway so you don't owe me." She chuckled. "Seriously."

"Well, you're gonna have to try a little harder on this girl."
He perked a brow at her. "Yeah.. cause none of them worked on you that night. Cause if I remember correctly, you thwarted each and every attempt I made to kiss you." He grinned. "Yeah, well, if you hadn't been singing at the top of your lungs in the middle of the night, I probably wouldn't have even been there to need saving." He shook his head laughing. "What? Don't like my singing?" he joked.
The girl behind the counter just starred at both of them, as if they'd gone nuts. "Aw, c'mon. No. I would've give Felix my crust anyway so you don't owe me." She chuckled. "Seriously." He shook his head. "No.." He laughed softly. "I'm buying, and that's that. If you really want to chip in, buy Felix's cone."
His eyes finally met with the cashiers. "Hi. Yeah.." He laughed. "I'll take the mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone." He pointed out, his head turning to Spyra. "What do you want?"

"Yeah.. cause none of them worked on you that night. Cause if I remember correctly, you thwarted each and every attempt I made to kiss you."
She shook her head at that. "Well, maybe not each and every attempt, huh?" She leaned in close, knowing what he was thinking. She stopped herself though and turned to display case, studying the tubs of ice cream. She hid her grin as she played at contemplating over the flavors.
"What? Don't like my singing?"
She chuckled, hooking her fingers into her pocket. "Not when it gets me almost-killed by demons. Or whatever was after us." She shuddered a little, remembering clinging to Jude as a horse and running through the New York City night.
"No.." He laughed softly. "I'm buying, and that's that. If you really want to chip in, buy Felix's cone."
She grinned at that. "All right, fine. Hear that, mutt? I'm buying for you." When he called to her, she smiled. "I'm gonna have strawberry in a sugarcone, please?" Shooting a grin to Jude, she added, "And then I'm gonna buy a vanilla on a waffle cone separately."

"Well, maybe not each and every attempt, huh?"
He smiled softly, watching as she moved in closer. And again, at the last second, she stopped herself. His mouth screwed lightly. "Anyone ever tell you, your a tease Spyra?" He shot at her with a wry smile.
"Not when it gets me almost-killed by demons. Or whatever was after us."
He smirked. "Gotta admit though, it was fun." He said, perking a brow as the woman began working on his order. "All right, fine. Hear that, mutt? I'm buying for you." When he called to her, she smiled. "I'm gonna have strawberry in a sugarcone, please?" Felix barked, his tail wagging as his tongue flopped out. "He's excited."
"And then I'm gonna buy a vanilla on a waffle cone separately."
He gave a nod, turning to lean against the counter as they waited. "You know what's going to happen right?" He asked, arms crossed over his chest.
