Somehow, she got Laura out of the house with her. Promising a lesson on trying to maintain her new powers. Taking a deep breath, she stood amung the fallen leaves, starring at the sky a moment. " Alright, I'm no expert on pyrokinesis, but we'll give it a go." She smiled. " It's mainly about taking control over it." She admitted, which was a huge 'duh' moment. " So.. lemme see a fireball." She pulled her hands into her hoody, wrapping her arms over her chest as she stood there, watching Laura with a small smile on her face.

Laura was all ready for a work out. She finally let Colette take her somewhere but had her promise to help her learn how to controll her fire. Laura breathed the air in deeply, trying to calm her frazzled nerves. "Alright, I'm no expert on pyrokinesis, but we'll give it a go." She smiled. "It's mainly about taking control over it. So.. lemme see a fireball." Colette asked her. Laura brought her hand up and made a fireball. That had been pretty easy, she'd been practicing the creation of fire since she got it. "Kay, now what?" she asked, nearly disgusted with her power. It wasn't the fact that it was a difficult power to contend with, but more for the fact that it seemed alive in her.

"Kay, now what?"
Colette got lost in watching Laura, and really noticing how far they'd grown apart. "Um.." She took a deep breath. "Try.. Try making it larger, but not too large." She let out a breath of air, one she'd been holding for too long.
"The larger the fire gets, the harder it gets to control. So.. try to not let it get.. out of control." The starred at laura, and still, in her eyes, she was this purely smart, beautiful, little girl. It was hard to see her, getting older.. Growing apart from her..

Laura nodded. She was so tired lately, most every night was spent awake after a terrible dream woke her. Without fully realizing it, her fireball got too big.
"Umm..." Laura said looking at her ball. "Is this okay?" she asked.

"Umm..." Laura said looking at her ball. "Is this okay?"
Within a blink of an eye, the small ball turned into a big one, as Laura asked her if it was okay, it kept growing. "Laura.. control it." She told her. But it still grew. "Laura..." Her worried tone kicked in quickly.

"Laura controll it!" Colette screamed. Laura concentrated on her ball as much as she could, but it didn't want to listen to her.
"DAMNIT STOP GROWING!" Laura cursed the ball. For a second it seemed to stop but then the ball began to unwind like a snake and coil around her arm slowly.

"DAMNIT STOP GROWING!"
As much as Colette wanted to tell her not to cuss, the emergency of the fire winding up her arm and soon to consume her entire body, pushed that aside. damnit.. elements.. water.. She looked around, the only source of open water was the pool, but it had been drained. Colette mumbled under her breath. "fuckingsonofabitch."
Her eyes danced around the lawn, stopping on the hose that laid on the ground. She quickly picked it up and aimed it at Laura. "Control it, or I will drench you."

"OH MY GWAD! AGH!" she yelled running around in circles. Hey why not give Colette a show? But the fire kept growing. If you don't stop it this instant i'm going to watch Barney everyday for three hours for a WEEK! she told herself. Finnaly it stopped... but it stayed.
Laura realized it was (somehow) tickling her, and giggled. When was the last time she laughed?

Colette didn't really want to drench her, seeing as it was kinda chilly out. And ontop of all her other problems, she didn't need a sick child to take care of. But the way laura was running around.. and followed by a giggle.. Colette couldn't help but to drop the hose as a soft laugh escaped her lips.
"What..." She stopped, trying to stop the laughter that kept growing, as if it was contagious. "Laura.." She shook her head, picturing it all over again in her mind. She bent over a moment, silent. Suddenly, a loud noise flew through the yard.
It was Colette, and she was laughing.

The laughter was contaigous. Laura began laughing with her mother.
"Fire....... Arm........... Tickles!!" Laura was breathless. She made the fire go back into a ball for a second. However just at that moment one of the youngest speed students came over and 'zapped' her. Laura lost her focus on the ball and accidently threw it... at a tree.
"Umm... mom... Don't freak out."

"Fire....... Arm........... Tickles!!"
Colette continued to laugh, shaking her head. She didn't even see another student come up and knock Laura's focus off. Of course, the next thing she heard, made her look up. "Umm... mom... Don't freak out."
"What.. Why would I.." She trailed off as her eyes landed on one of the lemon trees, with a large scorch mark in it. She closed her eyes tightly, and sighed deeply. "Laura..." She started, and took in a deep breath. Calm.. calm.. peace.. relax.. No big.. Lemon.. tree... Scorched.. Laura.. ugh.
She walked over to the tree, and put a finger to the scorch mark, still feeling the heat, she pulled back and grabbed the hose, drenching the tree in water. "I told you to focus.." As much as she tried, the anger was still apparent in her voice.

The anger was also contagious, one of the worst things about having empathy. Laura gritted her teeth and clenched her fists.
"I did." She said slowly. She'll never stop being angry, she loves your brother and sister more then you. Shut up![/i] Laura took a few breaths then looked around hoping to see the little kid that had zapped her. By then the kid was long gone. Damn.

"I did." 'Shut up! Damn.'
Colette was taken aback by her attitude and thoughts. "Excuse me?" She asked, brows furrowed and hands on her hips. "Did you just tell me to shut up?" She asked. "And, watch your tongue, Laura." She told her harshly.
"Clearly, you weren't concentrating. Look at my tree!" She pointed. With a large sigh, she dropped her hands to her side. "What is wrong with you?" She asked, looking up and over at her daughter. "Lately it's like you're a completely different person."

"I DIDN'T SAY THAT TO YOU, AND I WAS PAYING ATTENTION! Some kid came up and poked me." Laura's temper flared.
"What's wrong with you? Lately it's like you're a completely different person." Colette said. You don't know the half of it Laura heard the Voice smirk. Laura heaved a big breath then began stalking off.
"I'm so tired of this!"

"I DIDN'T SAY THAT TO YOU, AND I WAS PAYING ATTENTION! Some kid came up and poked me."
Colette was literally pushed back at the force of Laura's words. The next thing she knew, she was walking off. "I'm so tired of this!" Colette's brows furrowed as she chased after her. "No..no, no." Colette said, reaching out for her shoulder and turning her around. "I'm tired of going through this.. You are someone else, Laura, and I wish... I wish, I knew what has gotten into you. But I don't.. and you won't talk to me."
She took a breath, closing her eyes a moment. "So talk to me..." She said, tilting her head slightly. "Tell me what is wrong? Is it because of your siblings? What is it?"

Colette grabbed her shoulder and turned her around. Laura looked at her, not bothering to suppress her anger. "It's not my brother and sister that are the problem." Laura said then turned and began walking again. I wish I could tell you. But my own brain is drowing out MY thoughts. Stupid girl! the Voice yelled at her before she could finnish.

"It's not my brother and sister that are the problem." 'I wish I could tell you. But my own brain is drowing out MY thoughts'
Colette starred at her. "What do you mean?" She asked, following her inside the house. "Laura.." She sighed, reaching out to her once again. "I can't help unless you talk to me."

"It's not something you can help.." Laura said quietly. Laura pointed her finger at the grass and instinctivly wrote 'fire' with her fire. "Don't ask me how I did that."

Colette stared, quiet as can be. "I can help." She said softly, pulling Laura into her arms. Running a hand through her hair, and laying a kiss to the top of her head, she sighed. "You just tell me what you need or for me to do.. and I can help.."
