Cian had been going through some old boxes when he found it. He was trying to clear some things out, make some room. He ended up finding the video camera lodged into the side of the box that held a bunch of Timmy's leather bound novels. He pulled it out, studying it slowly. A grin broke on his face as he pulled out from the small storage space at the back of the closet. Wiping the dust from his shoulders and out of his hair, he moved to the front room, sneezing softly. "Emma love, look what I found!" He held the camera up, scanning the surface for the power button. Locating it, he pressed it and was surprised to hear the device start up. Awesome! He grinned wider and pressed the record better. Pointing it at Emma, he said, "Smile for the camera, Em-n-Em."

Barefoot at home in possibly one of the most comfortable dresses she owned, just getting done cleaning up the kids from a messy dessert of ice cream. What could be better? Her mood wasn't exactly soured when her husband stuck a camera lens in her face, but she was a little confused at first. "Cian!" She squeamishly tried to evade the device. "Get that thing out of my face!" After holding up a hand in the hopes of either blocking her face or the lens itself, she rounded the table and held Ollie in front of her, letting him be taped. He took to the opportunity gleefully, clapping his hands and waving. "Hi," he cried out with a lengthy smile. "Daddy, whachu got dere?"

Cian laughed heartily at Emma's reaction. "C'mon, Emma. Don' want anyone else t' see your pretty face?" He raised his eyebrows to her before focusing in on Oliver. "Heya Ollie. At least someone wants to be filmed." Chuckling again, he grinned. "Can y' say hi to the camera, lad?"
Maura was seated in her high-chair and was not getting any attention. She was not in the least bit happy about that. Banging her hands against the tray, she made a loud, drawling sound, hoping to gain her parents attention. Cian turned to her and, upon seeing that she wasn't upset, rolled her eyes.
"Feeling unappreciated, Maura Erin?" He scooped Oliver up with one arm, keeping the camera secure in his free hand, and placed him on the floor next to Maura's high chair. Backing up a bit, he got both his kids in the shot. "Well, look here. It's my two favorite kids."

"It's not anyone else's to see," she retorted with her face in Oliver's back, the thought of a camera; filming family occasions bringing back hopes that maybe she had some of her own home videos stashed away somewhere. Well, she could look for them later. It would be nice to see Deiderich's face again. Hell, it would be nice to see any of their faces.
Hands together with a bright-toothed smile plastered on his face, Oliver waved meekly at the camera. "Hewo," he obliged, "hewo, camwa." He half-expected it to say something back, but it was focused on Maura very quickly, who was whining something awful to get some attention. "No cwy, Mo-Mo," he assured her, walking over and patting her shoulder.

Cian smiled at his kids' interaction. "She's all right. Ain't y', Mo?" He focused in on her daughter.
Maura, enthralled by the light of the camera, let her mouth drop open. She pointed at the device in front of Daddy's face and bounced in her seat a little. "Caah!" she declared happily, apparently naming the camera. "Ahh-lee! Caaaah!" She addressed her brother before pointing to the camera again. Breaking into giggles, she pressed her hands against her mouth, eyes on the light.
"Good job, Mo," Cian praised, catching both his children in the frame again. He swung it around quickly, managing to get a quick shot of Emma. "I told you we make awesome babies, love."

In the quick moment he managed to get a shot of her, she stuck her tongue out, starting on removing Oliver's shirt that was covered with chocolate ice cream. He whined, wanting to focus on the camera that Mo was so enthralled by, lifting his arms to get this undressing over with as quickly as possible. "Mommy! Top it! I wann see camwa, too. Mo can no all the time." He held his arms with opposite hands, sending her a scowl.
"Mommy, now I cold!"
Playfully tying the dirtied shirt around his head, she put her hands on her hips. "Well if you didn't put up such a fuss, you could find a clean shirt faster." Suddenly he didn't seem so chilled anymore, running to leap in front of Daddy.
"Me too, me too!"

Cian laughed at his family's antics. "You look like a pirate, lad," he told Oliver, nodding to his make-shift head-dress. "D'you think your brother makes a good pirate, Mo?" Maura clapped, apparently showing her approval, and keened happily. She reached for the camera, straining over her highchair. Cian shook his head and moved closer, letting her explore the device with her hands a moment.
Pulling away, he turned back to Oliver. Maura tugged at his shirt, put-out at having the camera taken away from her. "D'you wanna try, Ollie? You can be a famous director and get rich and then take care of me and your Mum when we're older." He grinned across to Emma.
Maura's face was screwed up, as if concentrating. "Mmmm," she began. "Mmmmmuuuuuuhm." She shrieked excitedly, clapping her hands. "Mum!" she shouted. "Mum! Mum! Mummummummum!" She bounced in her seat, very proud of herself.

Letting her jaw drop as she heard her daughter's beginning mumblings turn into Cian's accent-tinted word, Emma grinned, taking Maura's little hands in her own. "You said Mum, baby girl! Good job! D'you know who Mum is?" Just so she wasn't saying mum without knowing what it related to. Oliver's first word had been 'duck,' but he would just point at everything and anything and scream "duck!" Didn't really get it.
Oliver scrambled for the camera, holding it up to his eye, seeing through it. A smile replaced his formerly grouchy expression. "Daddy, I see joo!" he cried with a gasp, panning the room and getting a good shot of everybody. "Big red blinky light," he notified everyone of the recording symbol. "Hi Mo! Say hi!"

"Hey!" Cian exclaimed, whirling on Maura. He caught their daughter's first word on film. Awesome! "That was Mo's first word, everyone. And I'd just like to point out that it was said with an Irish accent. That's right." He grinned, handing the camera off to Oliver. Moving to Maura, he watched as she pointed to Emma and repeated her new-found word. "Mum!" she shouted, aware that everyone liked to hear her say it for some reason. She laughed once before shoving her first two fingers in her mouth.
"Now we just gotta teach you 'Da' and 'Ollie,' huh Mo?" Cian rubbed her feathery hair affectionately. Maura just sucked at her fingers and grinned up at her Daddy. Her feet kicked against the chair happily. The red light caught her attention and then her brother's call. "Ahhhhl!" She said, in attempt at her brother's name. "Hiiy!"
Cian dropped a kiss to Emma's lips before crouching next to Oliver. "How d'you like the camera, lad?"

Emma dropped him an unenthusiastic look. "Accent shmaccent. It was mum, meaning me. I think that counts more than the accent." God, she would kill for Cian's accent, which was the only reason she teased him for having it. On some days she even joked it was Cian's accent that created Mo. Well, maybe it wasn't really a joke...
Once again engrossed by her girl, she hunched excitedly by her. "Can you say 'Da,' Maura? Or 'Daddy'? Say 'Daddy.'" Hmm, maybe "dad" would be easier. "Or how about your name? Maura. Wanna say Maura? Or Mo?" It was these times that she felt like she was the luckiest person in the world. Encouraging her kids to learn; to try.
Oliver, not really caring that his parents were dealing with Maura's epiphany, completely preoccupied by the camera, kept it on them, playing with the zoom button. "Wee, woo, weee..." he hummed to himself, going in and out with a giggle each time. When he noticed Maura was addressing him, he beamed. "Hi!" he returned with a wave of his hand. "Oh, Mo! Thilly girl! Dat not 'muhm,'" he dropped his voice to mimick her "incorrect" pronounciation. "Dat Mommy. Thilly Mo."

Maura cocked her head as she listened to Momma rattle off other words for her to say. She kept her fingers in her mouth, but attempted a few of them. "Daaaahh. Moouhhh." Her nose wrinkled as she softly made the noises. She didn't like them. Giggling, she reached out and tapped Mum's nose, since it was so close. "Bop," she said clearly, grinning.
Maura squealed happily at being addressed by her brother. Her hands clapped against the highchair table and her feet kicked. "Ahhhl-ehrr!" she drawled. "Mum! Oller, Mum, Daaaaaahhhh," she said, pointing to each person in turn.

"Ah, she coulda said 'Saikoro' and I wouldn't care," Cian joked. He laughed heartily at Maura's response to her mother, shaking his head. They really did have the most awesome kids ever. And smart!
He ruffled Oliver's hair then, glad that he was enjoying the camera. "She can call us whatever she wants, lad. When I was young like you, I called my mom 'mum' and my dad 'da.'" He tapped the boy's nose, adding, "Bop." Scooping Oliver into his arms, camera and all, he straightened up and kissed Maura's nose. "You're so smart, Maura Erin."

Maura's attempted fascinated her, and she pulled up a seat, preparing to spend as much time as she wanted listening to her daughter spit out adorable mispronounciations, but hell. They were perfect to her. Emma laughed, delighting in Mo's bopping her nose. "Bop," she repeated, touching the tiny nose on the baby. "You have a very cute nose, Maura Erin. Just like a button." She watched in surprise as Maura addressed each person by name. "That's right. Oliver, Mum, Da," she approved with a nod, figuring it would be easier for Mo if she used her ways of addressing her parents. "You're so smart."
She burst out laughing at Cian's remark, shaking her head. "Mmm, not sure I'd be okay with that, but I'd get over it real quick. She calls me mum!" Emma bounced in her seat, a bright grin expanding over the majority of her face. A girlish squeal escaped her before she brought Mo out of her highchair, giving her a light squeeze in her arms. "Love you."

Oh, she could? Well, okay. Hardly able to say he'd listened to Daddy, Oliver tried pushing a few buttons on the camera, just to see what they did. But he still liked the zoom button the best. It made things move! Dragging a hand over his hair a few times to smooth it out, he smiled at Daddy, handing the camera back to him, done with it for now.
Ollie used the palm of his hand to bop Daddy's nose a few time. "Beep beep beeeeep!"

Maura pressed her hands together and then to her lips, smiling. She then bopped her own nose. She underestimated her own strength, though, and ended up hurting herself a little. Her lips began to tremble and soon enough the tears were falling. "Mommmaaaaaaaa!" she called, reaching out for comfort. Ow!
--
Cian took the camera, video-taping Oliver at close range. He chuckled at the nose-bopping going around and wrinkled the appendage. "Me poor nose. Since I've joined this family it's gotten more abuse than in m' whole life." He grinned to show he was only joking and was about to retaliate by tapping Emma's nose. She was preoccupied with a now-crying Maura though, so he instead just moved closer to his girls. "Poor Mo. Poor Maura Erin." He dropped a kiss to her cheek.

The abrupt crying snapped her out of her glee, and she instantly had Maura in her arms, unable to keep back her own slight chuckling. "Gotta be careful there, little Mo. Hurt yourself? Aww, here, let me kiss it. I'll make it all better." Taking her hand, she bestowed the tiniest of kisses onto the tip of her nose. "Feel better, then? Don't cry," she cooed, bringing away the hair that had fallen into Maura's eyes. Someone was getting a little tired.
---
The next moments caught him by surprise. Oliver snapped his head toward the action, only getting the tail end of it. Something about Maura hurting herself, and then crying, and he let out a huff of discomfiture, slapping his hands over his ears. "Shuuuuut uuuuup," he drawled in frustration.

Maura's cries trailed into hiccups and sniffles, especially after Mum kissed it better. "Momma," she hummed, cuddling against her neck. She wiped at her eyes gently, still snuffling. She accepted the kiss from Daddy, stroking at his stubbly cheek absently. "Ammah lee poofin," she babbled breathily.
--
"Shhh, Ollie," Cian chastised gently. He petted side of the boy's head soothingly. "I think somebody's ti-ti," he said in sing-song. He met Emma's eyes over their son's head and indicated both the kids. It was time for both their bedtimes, he thought. He hoisted Oliver a little closer.

A softer smile came over her now, and she rocked back and forth automatically, rubbing Maura's back, and kissing the top of her head every now and then. "Yes, Mo. Anything you say." For a while she did nothing but press her forehead to Maura's feathery blonde hair, the curve of the bridge of her nose fitting perfectly there, breathing in her modest, light baby scent. It was like a new wave of awe every time she affirmed that this was her daughter.
"Yeah," she agreed with Cian, passing him a grin, lifting her eyes. "I'll put this one to bed. Then I want to dig out some of the old videos I have. Y'down with that?" Lifting up on her toes, she landed a kiss to his lips before dropping back down, noticing her recent lack of vowels and 'g's. Damn Irish.

Cian grinned as he watched Emma handle Maura. The little girl was cuddled against her Momma, eyes half-closed. "Y' got a deal," he agreed, returning the kiss. "And I would love that!" Baby Emma. He smirked. "I'll see if I can find any of mine. Not sure what I've got though."
He moved to Oliver's room carrying the boy with him. "Nigh-nigh Oller!" Mo called sleepily before laying back down. Cian grinned at that before entering the little boy's room. Settling him on the bed, he moved to the dresser. "Which jammies, Ollie?"

Though his eyes were drooping as well, he managed to throw his arms up in the air, only to have them flop back down, of course. "Rrrocket ships!" he hummed, looking up at Daddy with hanging eyelids and a sleepy smile. Hmm. Sleep sounded really good right now.
Maura's sudden exclamation sprouted a grin on her face, and Emma carried her to the nursery, where she dressed the limp baby in her pajamas and laid her down on her belly in the crib, covering her with a blanket. "Good night, love."
Now onto her own mission. Turning the light out and leaving the door ajar, Emma went into their own bedroom to rummage through a few boxes she saved from cleaning out her mom's apartment.
