Amarie was out with the kids today. Thank goodness. Saikoro wanted to be alone. He figured it was an old habit that came with having Azrael back in his skull again. In the past few weeks, Saikoro had become a different person. He didn't speak as much and he wasn't super cheery like he had been around Am and the kids in the past. He had distanced himself again; though, not as much as he had done before. Today, he had taken his time alone to work out. Though there was no purpose in doing so, he decided to attempt it anyway. Sai was just walking through life as if he had no point. He was trying to draw attention away from his eyes, which seemed to be ever-changing. Not to mention, his unfortunate event he had a while before had left him with.....well....most called it a disability. Since when was a half robotic right arm a disability. That was another reason why he was so distant. Am fussed over him a bit too much. She acted as if he needed help with anything that had to do with using his right arm. He didn't. Saikoro had told her that so many times. He was fine and he didn't need any help. He had taken his spare time to talk occasionally talk to Azrael. Even Azrael seemed a bit different now. Still, Azrael was a killer nonetheless.....and here Sai was.....harboring him in his brain.

Having completely forgotten why she was out today--oh yes, because it was gorgeous out and she was happy to be alive--Emma made her way down the street, taking in the sweet summer air and barely keeping her excitement to get home in. Excitement to see her husband, kiss him; see her children, kiss them, too. Every day seemed like a gift now, because according to her vision, she hadn't been supposed to see today. Emma noticed where she was all of a sudden, and thought why not share her good mood? Maybe a certain someone needed some cheering up. Approaching the door, she knocked on it.

Now, Saikoro had immediately heard the knock. He was a little confused and blinked a moment. Shaking his head, he walked to the door and opened it without paying attention. "Am baby, you honestly don't have to knock on the door. This is our house, silly. I was j--" Sai looked up and blinked when he saw Emma, the smile that had begun to grow, disappeared entirely and he stood straight. "Emma.........what.....are you doing here?"
It didn't even occur to him that he was just wearing jeans and was covered in sweat or he probably would've gotten a shirt. He just stood there, waiting for her response.

Baby. He called Amarie "baby." For some reason, she hadn't expected this. But Cian called her "baby" enough--why hadn't she thought Saikoro would call the person he loved affectionate little pet names? Offering a tight smile, Emma looked up at him, trying to ignore the fact that he was shirtless and lathered with sweat. She coughed a little, trying not to laugh.
Shaking her head, she shrugged. "Nothing much. Just...wanted to say hi."
He looked troubled. Stressed.

Oh. She wanted to say Hi? Pfft....yeah right. She doesn't want to say Hi. She's just standing there as if everything is fine and dandy, but you know Saikoro......you know she's just realizing that she misses what she's seeing. Sai tried to restrain a smirk from Azrael's thoughts. Don't kid me, Az. Then again.....I think anyone would miss this no matter what.
He pushed the door open a bit and then gestured in with his hand, the mechanical sound of his arm moving was faint but audible. "Would you...uh...like to come in? Have a glass of water or something? Talk or something? Anything?" He suggested.

Emma came in contact with his emotions, which were very jumbled, and scrambled, and all but tortured with something else that was plunging itself into him. Offering a kinder smile, she touched his arm gently as she took a step toward him. His poor arm... If there was anything she could have done to save his arm from being amputated... No, he had pulled out the rod himself.
Swallowing, she shook her head. "No thank you," she replied to the water. "Yeah, sure, can we talk? Or did I interrupt something?" She chuckled, gesturing to his lack of shirt.

The minute she touched his arm, the muscles of the mechanic technology tensed and he gently pulled it away, putting his right arm in his pocket. His eyes just seemed to say "Emma, it's fine. My arm's fine. I'm fine." and he let her into the entrance hall, closing the door behind him.
"Oh...no, you didn't interrupt anything. Amarie and the kids are out so I was just....working out a bit." He said simply. For some reason, he felt achieved saying he was doing that. Maybe it was because it proved even more that his arm was just fine. Saikoro shuffled over to where he had been working out and grabbed his tank top, putting it on quickly. "Feel free to sit down."

His eyes told her everything. Maybe his arm was fine, but she wasn't. She'd seen it happen. Could she maybe have done something to prevent it? He retreated his arm, but she wanted to touch it again. For some reason, Emma didn't believe that everything was fine. Didn't it trouble him in the slightest?
"Working out?" she echoed, touching the back of a chair before placing herself in it. "Wow, what for?" she chuckled, jokingly touching his bisceps. No doubt Oliver got his vigor from this man.
Her smile grew. "How's Amarie? Getting big?" she chuckled, charading with her hand the depth of a swollen stomach.

Saikoro shrugged a bit and then said casually, "Oh, you know. I was bored and decided I might as well do something to get used to this.....changed." He looked down at his arm and then sighed. When he gazed up again, his eyes flashed purple for a couple seconds before returning to normal.
"Oh yeah. I try to tell her she looks absolutely fine, but honestly....she looks bigger than that teacher at Rosewood did. Speaking of.....how is that teacher? And Shames? How have they been? I don't remember seeing her at that little Halloween party with Shames and Lyra? Was she sick or something?" Saikoro asked curiously.

Her stomach turned as he gestured to his arm. Emma reached out to take his hand, knowing it had to be a drastic change. "I'm...really sorry about that night," she said, her voice kind and dripping with guilt. Catching a glimpse of his eyes, her brows lowered in a furrow. Did they...?
Allowing a chuckle, she nodded, leaning back in her seat. "That's good. I bet it's hard carrying three babies at once. I have trouble with just one." The mere memory brought back the aches and pains. She shook her head, her smile disappearing. "She's dead, Sai," she replied gently, mouth deepening into a frown. "Shames and his girl Lyra are okay. I think he's dating someone else, actually."

"It's okay....it was really my fault. You have nothing to be sorry for." Saikoro said and then looked suddenly shocked when Emma mentioned that Corona was dead. How had he not known? When had she died? And Shames had managed to forget her and move on? "Oh....w-when did she.....die? And how? Was it...health problems? Car crash? What?"
Sai stopped himself and then looked away. "I'm sorry....I'm just...shocked. Was there anything I could have done to help her? Or was it just....one of those accidents? And he's already moved on? Poor Shames....and Lyra. They both seemed so cheery at the party."He sighed.

Allowing the meekest of smirks, she let go of his hand, retreating in her seat to stare at her hands in her lap. It didn't have to be that she could have done anything, or that it wasn't her fault, but being there had made her feel helpless; inadequate. Saikoro's waves of flustered questions made her occupied with something else other than pondering what could have been.
"Months ago. She..." Emma took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. Hated talking about this. Didn't want to admit it was real. There was no Satan, there was no Hell, there was no demons.
Except that there was.
"She had a run-in with a demon," she choked out, bringing her eyes up with a new kind of certainty. "Shames was trying to keep her and Lyra away, I think, and she...God, she was already in bad shape, and she fell..." Her voice choked up and stopped itself before she could finish. "She fell off of the roof."
As if that had done her in, she brought a hand up to her face and dragged it down, like it would take away all of the pain. "Saikoro, you can't be there to help everything," she chuckled, shaking her head and reaching out to him again. "You're not Superman." A lighter smile crossed her face. "Yeah, I think he may be dating a new teacher, but I'm not sure. I haven't been to Rosewood in a long time."
I should really visit more often...
Pushing the thought aside, she shrugged. "I think it was a sort of mask, you know? He didn't want to bring the party down with his upset. And he has to be happy for Lyra--help her move on, too. She's only four."

Months ago? God! How did he not know? Why had there been no funeral? Why had no one told him this? Now, he felt bad. He wished desperately that he could have been there to help Shames. He felt guilty now, but he didn't know why. Swallowing the lump in his throat, he let out a shuddered breath. "O-Oh. I wish there was something I could have done." He said with an upset voice. "I'm sure....I'm sure I could have done something. Even if I'm not Superman....I could have helped them."
He looked down, his eyes flashing purple again as he spoke. "Yeah...I guess. No four year old should have to go through losing their parent. But still.....to move on so soon. I mean...I don't know. I just feel kind of guilty now. If I had been there, she might still be alive." Saikoro looked back up again and then tipped his head to the side. "Well, enough with sadness. How's Dean & Harmony been? I haven't seen them since the party either."

Shaking her head with lowered eyebrows, Emma didn't exactly know what to say. "You can't stop everything," she assured him, her grip on his metallic hand tightening. "If she was going to die, she was going to die. It's okay. You can't feel responsible for everything. How will you ever be happy if you do?" Letting go of a chuckle, she moved his hair out of his eyes. They looked different today. Were they...purple? The reminder of Azrael made her shiver.
She swallowed thickly, biting her lip. "They, um..." Shit, this had been her fault. She was the reason they were broken up. "They're separated at the moment."

When she gazed at his eyes, Saikoro lowered them as if to hide them. "Oh really? Huh....seems like....seems like so much has happened with everybody that I somehow missed." He began and then stopped there. Of course he did. No one bothered to tell him how things were going. No one really liked him there at the Gifted Manors. That was the exact reason why Sai wanted to get away from NYC.
It then occurred to him that he had been asking questions about the people that really didn't have much significance in his life; opposed to the one that really did. Ollie. He had avoided asking about Ollie. It seemed that boy always made their meetings into sad, depressing ones. "So....uh...how's Colette?" Saikoro asked curiously.

Frowning, Emma took her hand away, gazing at him for a long time before responding. "She's fine. Why are you asking about all of these people you supposedly used to hate?" Something was wrong--or at the very least, different. He didn't look at her; rather, he lowered his eyes to avoid making contact. He was asking pointless questions, probably just trying to make small talk. What was eating him?
((Sorry, short, I know.))

"Oh. I was just being polite. Turning a new leaf...you know." Saikoro said with a shrug and then heard something in his ind. Turning new leaf? Ha! You have to be kidding. Why don't you just ask about your stupid little boy now? I know you want to know about him. We all know it, Sai! And you know what else I know? You can never save anyone. You're cursed with ruining things. You can't fix things.
Suddenly, Sai put his hands to his ears, wincing as he muttered harshly, out-loud, "Shut up. I don't need this from you." He didn't even think of the fact that Emma was sitting there and that she probably heard him.

Smiling genuinely, Emma nodded a few times. "Good, good for you," she consoled, liking that he was starting a new chapter in his life. That was what he needed--to be satisfied with himself, and his position in life, and who he was with. "I'm really happy for you."
His next reaction scared her out of her skin. "W-what did I say?" she asked, concerned, reaching for his hand again. Why was he covering his ears?

"I was talking to.....s-someone else." Saikoro looked frustrated and he stood up. He let out a groan and then cursed, "Dammit! Shut up!"
He knew very well that Az wouldn't be shutting up until Sai asked about Oliver and so he turned to look at Emma, his eyes flashing rapidly from purple to brown. "So....how's my little Ollie? I mean....your little Ollie. He's not mine anymore." He questioned without any true emotion. "I wouldn't have asked actually. But he won't shut up until I ask about the boy so I might as well just humor him."

Someone else? What was he talking about? Standing with him, she reached an arm out to him, but had a feeling she would only be repelled. Emma frowned, trying to understand what was happening. Someone else was talking to him...but how? Hadn't people--people?--stopped torturing him by now?
His eyes had been purple. Taking a step back, she answered, choosing not to comment on his possession banter, "He's fine. Why didn't you want to ask? I don't mind." More than anything, she loved talking about her children. The very thought of them made her head swell. "Him? Who's him?"
