"Don't worry,"
He nodded, watching as she grabbed the stereo remote and turned it on. A slow, breezy song came on, and she spoke again. "Here," she began, taking hold of his hands, "start like this. It's classy and won't make her feel like you own her yet." His brows furrowed at that last sentence as she pulled his arms around her.
"Don't freak out."
"Not freaking out. I see you as a mom... so why would I freak? I'm not imagining you as Taegan... so yeah, we're good on the no freaking out part." He gave a nod, noticing he was rambling. "Sorry... bad habit." He swallowed, relaxing slowly as he began to get the hang of it.
"Good, keep going. Think you can take the lead?"
He smiled, feeling more comfortable as they moved. "I think I can do that." He said softly. "Think we can do a spin?" He chuckled, reaching for her hand and spinning her out away from him and then back in. "Only time I've ever danced, was with my mom when I was little enough to stand on her feet." He chuckled softly.

His rambling caught her in a chuckle, and she temporarily questioned the truthfulness tied to his words. Soon after he noticed himself and recovered, she felt him take the lead of the dance, really taking charge and moving her instead--not forcefully, but he was definitely in control. Emma had long forgotten was it was like to be trapped in a nice, romantic slow dance. Her life had turned into such a stressful, busy mess that she barely had any time for romance anymore. It was a wonder she and Cian still found things they had in common.
"Think we can do a spin?"
"On your mark, sir," she allowed, feeling his fingers slip over her hand and pull away to allow the turn. Even though it was gradual and timed well, the spin made her dizzy enough that she had to catch herself before she landed safely in front of him again. It had caught her off guard, what it felt like to be courted again. To size each other up as potential mates or partners, to feel that exhilarating spark.
Emma took a deep breath, blinking. "Sounds nice," she said with a grin, swaying with him closer now, hands finding their way around his neck again. "You're doing great."
