Once she found her feet, she was just about to break from him when he kissed her. Her lips, caught by surprise, remained unresponsive, and he pulled away fast enough for her to worry that he might think she purposely didn't kiss him back. Not having time to explain beacuse of Danny's interruption, Emma looked back at the family that had already begun to reset. Damn they were fast. Cian's team was looking for the touchdown.
A splitting headache stopped her for a second or two, and in a blackout moment saw Cian catching the ball on the right side of the field. She smirked. No touchdown for them, not if she could help it.
Jogging back, she whispered to Brian if she could take up his right side. He quickly obliged, and she kept a steady, deceiving eye on Cian. He was going down.

Resetting, Cian took a moment to ponder his wife's strange behavior. He was worried to be honest, because she looked like she had been having a vision or something. He was about to call her name to check on her when she suddenly snapped out of it. And smirked. Triumphantly.
Woman had had a vision about the next play, he would bet his children on it. Well, maybe not his children. But his favorite fedora at the very least.
His face screwed up with thought as Emma conferred with Brian. She totally knew where he was going to go. Which was ridiculous, because he didn't even know where he was going to go yet. After some deep, serious thought, he managed a solution. She was going to be so disappointed.
When the "hike!" was called and Liadan had tossed the ball off to Cian at the right end of the field, he took off. Fast. Like, really fast. Inhumanly fast, in fact. Damn, he loved being a mutant. Nothing better than super-speed in the middle of a football game.
He briefly, just as he was making his way to the end-zone, wondered if perhaps Peyton Manning was a mutant. He had to be, with his freaky ability to make receivers just appear out of nowhere to wherever he chose to throw the pass.

Well, there was the pass. Right where she'd known it was going to go. Straight to Cian. Her task was to get him to the ground. Clearly he'd seen something in her face, though, and started bolting at his maximum speed. She stopped dead in her tracks with her hands on her hips. "Foul!" she cried, throwing her hands in the air. "No powers! That's a dead advantage for everyone else!"
Because she didn't have any powers that she could really control--visions just came as they pleased, usually with adrenaline or a dire situation--and no one else in the Lawrence family besides her kids had powers. So he shouldn't be allowed to use his, either.
That, and she wanted to beat the living crap out of him, and that was near impossible if he was just able to dart away from her.
